What's Zilean's purpose now?

There are many characters who's role in the story is vague without the league, but I don't think Zilean can even interact with people now. The league allowed him to be outside of his tower.

He can leave his tower without the league.

The league only tried to help him with his chrono disease,so in the new lore he'll just have to find a way to cure it on his own.

It will probably be he spreading cancer to the rest of league champions, this lore seems suitable for him.
