Gnar's Odd Colors

So, as a person that completely loves playing Gnar (Demaglio!) I was doing a bit of lore checking on him and seeing that its from Rengar's perspective on the little guy and the Breaking Out Of The Ice section is from his time. Its easy to tell that Gnar was a prehistoric yordle, frozen in time, and then escaped his containment years later (millennium.) Well, after some checking around to dig a bit further into Gnar's interesting yet mysterious background, I couldn't find anything confirming this but its common belief that Anivia froze him in time to fight someone. Well, this is interesting to me because it leaves me with many unanswered questions that I was hoping you guys could help me clue in. I was wondering if Gnar was an orange yordle but "Anivia" freezing him in time is the reason hes so oddly colored (his blue and purple colors on his tail and ears.) And if that is his normal color then why does his dino skin show him with a normal colored tail and ears? I'm mostly asking this question because i'm curious to find out how you guys would respond.

I doubt that's why he has blue coloration. Fur doesn't really change colour from cold unless to adapt.

I think it's just how yordles looked back then. There's also the possibility it's war paint of sorts that he likes to wear but his tail looks like it's a natural colour.

Anivia being the one who froze gnar was said by a rioter on some forum. Dunno which language it was,it wasn't an english forum(maybe spanish or italian?)

As for gnars colours: I'd say you shouldn't put that much thought into them.I mean skins are non canon most of the time and so is dino gnar,his fur colours might have been simply changed to better fit the skin,or to make it a bit more different(Or maybe he was originally supposed to have ears in this colour,but they changed it in the last minute and simply left them like that for his dino skin?) I mean many champs change their hair colour for skins,but it has rarely any deeper meaning

Skins are completely non-canon, so they could make him a robot skin and it would still have zero bearing on how his original appearance looks. I don't get why he can't just have blue ears because he has blue ears? Also, for all we know, it could be prehistoric yordle body art (like a tattoo or dying his hair or something).

Pigments are limited in most mammels because they never evovle colors like Green and blue, some mammals do have those colors though but as of yet none have evolved means of incorporating them into hair. This is simply luck as birds have evolve these pigments and incorporate them into feathers. Biochemcially I can not think of reason why blue and green pigments can not be found in hair. Feathers, scales (fingernails) and hair are made of beta or alpha keratin, these keratins have little biochemical difference in primary and secondary structure, Only in quaternary structure (protein aggregation: hair is a fiber, fingernails are sheets) do these protein really differ. Mammals also have the pigments needed or at least the necessary archea types pigments that have with some small sequence changes been evolve in other classes (birds, reptiles, ect) to be blue, green and violet.

I always thought he was like a very distant ancestor to Heimerdinger, after all he and Gnar both have similar shades of orange.
