Winston Churchill once said "Battles are won by slaughter and maneuver. The greater the general, the more he contributes in maneuver, the less he demands in slaughter."

Lux can still be a brilliant tactician while also hating to hurt people. Perhaps her strategies would mostly involve trying to surround or confuse the enemy and get them to lose their will to fight, rather than taking a "kill'em all" approach.
