Can we take a min to talk bout the (pre)Undead Kingdom on the Shadow Isles?

Well the before and after.

Anyway, As we all know, the Shadow Isles was once beautiful and lively. And there was a kingdom(source: Maokai's lore) Judging from his perspective, It was really peaceful there. And it took no part in the Rune Wars(This is backed up by the fact that no one actually knows the Shadow Isles) It had lots of life there; a variety of species(also given) nature spirits, and a beautiful forest. The city that was there was covered in white quartz(Given in Maokai's Judgement) And I would believe that that kingdom loved their king. There seems to have also been animal gods there(or something similar)Vilemaw is an Example. An ideal place to live. However, After the death nuke pretty much killed everything, I wonder what still goes on in the Shadow Isles? I mean, Hecarim is an undead centaur, who(as of now) Patrols the Shadow Isles in case people get curious to go there. Why would he be doing something like that? Honor perhaps? It seems this kingdom also had high respect for their king. On the Twisted Tree line, a husband and wife are bound to the altars there(Kitae confirmed their relationship.) And the dead woman still shouts; "For the King!" So with this, it seems the king who made that terrible choice, is now undead and still have power over....things in the Shadow Isles. One of Karthus's quotes to hecarim.."Remember who you truly serve, Hecarim." Now what I really want to know is, what's going on on that dreaded Island. As of present time in Runeterra. From what I see is, the strong possibility of the kingdom still going about in undeath. Did you see the Harrowing login for this year? It seems to be the Shadow Isles. And behind the ruined building the picture is focused on, you can see the shadow or Silhouette if a castle(city maybe?) So that Area was larger than I thought. You can also see how bad that catastrophic explosion ruined the Island. It seems not everyone turned into a ghost. There's the mysterious Evelynn, believed to be from there(obviously she is) who can either be classified as a succubus or a vampire. I would think she would be a vamp more. Vampires are said to be undead as well. So I want to go over the races of that place: We seem to have Nature spirits Centaurs Humans Animal demi-Gods(Vilemaw) Possible a lot more; Unknown at the moment. It would seem like a setting for a fairytale. A peaceful land where everyone gets along, where animals talk, and people randomly sing. But even before the death of the Shadow Isles, there was evil there also. Mordekaiser was said to have existed before than, as a wraith. But of course no place could be that perfect. There has to be an evil looming over the land of happiness. Apparently, Necromancy was some sort of taboo there. Or just a possibility. Somehow it caught the kings eyes. Maybe there was a man/woman or un socialized group of people that were banished from center kingdom and settled somewhere else around the isles. Someone important to the King died, and he had the thought of bringing him/her back. And made an effort to contact this man/group. Wanting to bring this person back, they performed this ritual. But it was more than they could handle. I would also think this man or woman/ group would somehow be responsible for morde's undeath. But that's another story. I would also like to know did this king take consideration about what his Queen might think? Pressing forward, The present state of the Isles seems to be the exact opposite of it's former self. Dead, Abandoned, and Rotten, There is also some sort of activity going on there. When things like Hecarim or Yorick are seen, it leads to other clues or Mysteries. This is what I want to know most. So I have created this thread for people to give there Ideas or thoughts about the said place. Maybe a Rioter would gives us a hint of clarification. But either way lets discuss this.

The new login for the Shadow Isles is not only badass looking but interesting as it is one of the few depictions from there we got. Interestingly enough, that statue on the left has a very particular look. The statue is humanoid but with wings. The only beings in LoL that have wings (besides Swain) are the Darkin and Morgana/Kayle race. Perhaps this is a hint at the Morgana/Kayle retcon. Perhaps, they were the ancient dwellers of the Shadow Isles (before it came to be known as the Shadow Isles, how Maokai once saw it). Maybe, Evelyn's shoulder scarfs can be retconed into wings and she could have been an ancient dweller of the Shadow Isles but then got transformed in the cataclysm? This is all speculation (and some hope added in) but no lore other than those from the Shadow Isles have always interested me more.

As for Hecarim, I believe he was a cavalier that melded with his stead in the explosion, that he wasnt a centaur in the first place.

Karthus is not originally from the Shadow Isles, he was just a mega fanboy of death and shadows so he went to the Shadow Isles (after its cataclysm) to become transcended into undeath. Im not sure why hes talking to Hecarim about allegiances.

As for Maokai's judgement, I dont think its cannon anymore. If you look at the new login, there is no structure built of white quartz (also quartz would make a very crappy building material). Even in its ruins, you can clearly see black stone and metal gates of the church like structure. Again more speculation, perhaps there were missionaries that inhabited the Shadow Isles. The first explorers there befriended the native spirits and worked along with them. But then the missionaries found that they can use these spirits and the magic of the land to become immortal. And humans do as humans does and we have the Shadow Isles as they are now.
