Abilities

For those looking for a quick summary of each ability, here are basic descriptions:

> P - Sorrow > Every few seconds, Ioran's basic attack deals bonus magic damage. If a different ally attacks them as well, the enemy is slowed. > > Q - Shrouded Cloak > Attach a cloak to an ally. A) Cast on self or same ally, and dash to them, OR B) Cast on different ally. Both allies affected by the cloak after will be stealthed. > > W - Blighted Swing > Magic damage in a wider-than-longer cone in front of you. If this hits an enemy champion, resets your passive cooldown. > > E - Defiling Charge > Charge up (similar to Vi, Varus, Xerath) before dashing. Deal magic damage and fear enemies around you after dashing. > > R - Undying Devotion > Blink to an ally after a delay. Stay put on the ally; movement commands will move you around them. Body-block anything in the direction you are facing.

For those looking for more detail of each ability, here are full descriptions:

> Passive - Sorrow > 12/10/8 seconds @ 1/7/13 - 125 range > Every few seconds, Ioran’s next basic attack will deal (10 + 5 x level) (+5% HP) bonus magic damage. If a different ally champion attacks them within 2 seconds, they will be slowed for (25 + 2.5 x level)% for 1.5 seconds.

Ioran is all about teamwork, and adding an ability with the essence of working together is something very useful in his kit. I was debating about using this as it is very similar to Braum's, but I decided to make it less of a build-up and more of an immediate sensation of CC. It also requires Ioran to have another ally instead of just himself, which makes him weaker fighting alone and adds to the fantasy of teamwork.

> Q - Shrouded Cloak > 80/70/60/50/40 mana - 18/15/12/9/6 seconds - 600 range > Ioran attaches his cloak to an ally champion for 4 seconds, which breaks if they drift 850 units apart. If he recasts Shrouded Cloak on the same ally or self casts, Ioran will quickly dash to the ally. Otherwise, if he recasts Shrouded Cloak on a different ally, the cloak will attach to them as well. > In either scenario, all affected allies will be stealthed for 1.6/1.7/1.8/1.9/2 seconds. If they attack, are revealed, drift too far apart, or die, both will be revealed.

Again - teamwork concept is very important to Ioran's identity as the Devoted In Death. Giving Ioran options to work with or simply help his allies makes him feel more successful as a teammate than simply "support", and allows him to be truly unique as the only champion to offer allies stealth.

> W - Blighted Swing > 60/55/50/45/40 mana - 12/11/10/9/8 seconds - 325 wide/200 long cone > Ioran swings in a wide arc in front of him, dealing (10 + 50 x rank) (+0.4 AP) magic damage to enemies. Blighted Swing will reset Sorrow’s cooldown if it hits an enemy champion.

Ioran wields a big sword, so giving him an ability relevant to it is only common sense. I always wanted to see an ability that was wider than longer, but still remained as a cone. This is ability is awfully short ranged, so it requires Ioran to get up in the enemies face in order to use it properly.

> E - Defiling Charge > 80/85/90/95/100 mana - 20/18/16/14/12 seconds - 300 dash > Ioran charges for up to 4 seconds, moving 15% slower. After 1.5 seconds, Ioran may recast Defiling Charge to dash in a small line. Upon arrival, Ioran deals (20 + 70 x rank) (+0.6 AP) magic damage to nearby enemies and fears them for 1 second.

There are virtually no support champions with a genuine charge, besides perhaps Alistar or Leona, though they are targeted and not a realistic dash. A lot of supports aren't super flashy, and using genuine skill in their heaviest crowd control adds to that "flashy" playstyle and can often be viewed as very skillful in some situations. Making the dash delayed and very small, however, is because of the raw power in it as a basic ability, and thus adds more counterplay and raises Ioran's skill ceiling a bit.

> R - Undying Devotion > 100 mana - 180/135/90 seconds - 1400 range > Ioran channels for 1.5 seconds, blinking to a target ally champion and becoming invulnerable. > Upon arrival, Ioran floats around his ally. For the next 6/7/8 seconds, Ioran can maneuver around his ally by recast, blinking there instantly up to once per second. If the ally dies or the ability ends, Ioran will exit off his ally. The duration bar will be shown as a turquoise bar above the ally. > During this time, any damage, CC, or projectiles that would otherwise hit the ally in Ioran’s direction are instead absorbed entirely, but lowering the duration of Undying Devotion by 1 second each. This excludes summoner spells, items, AoE, and direct target abilities.

The idea of bodyblocking for an ally is taken by Braum, but to literally follow your ally while doing it is something he can often lack as Braum can get CC'd. This ability fits the idea of Devoted in Death as Ioran is literally blocking the bullet for his buddy, and keeps them in the fight. There were many forms of this ability, including it being a click-on-low-health-ally-passive, but it's been ultimately worn down to this, to make the ability suitable as a really really powerful skill.

Appearance

I am an artist, and could easily draw this, but the image I see in my head simply can't be put through my hands and never fits what I believe to be an epic support character. I'll try and describe what I visualize as best I can.

Ioran is a spectre, a man half destroyed by the twisted power of the Shadow Isles. His head, left arm, and right leg are completely gnawed at and numbed by the isle's foul magic, glowing an eerie black with turquoise wisps. His eyes are a sharp, solid turquoise. He has no visible mouth, nose, or virtually any facial features. His left hand and right foot and animal-like, sharp with claws that can easily cut through steel like butter.

Excluding the above parts, Ioran is covered in medieval garb of thick leather and chainmail, including a bright, silver gauntlet and boot on his right arm and left leg respectively. On his head and neck, a long, flowing, red cloak with gold embellishments flutters with a life of it's own.

He wields an incredibly long but thin silver sword with the same gold embellishments and leather-wrapped pommel, guard, and hilt. With each swing, it leaves behind a glittering silver trail that remains for a time before fading.

What's Left?

I need to make some lore. I have the visual of the champion, have gone through several stories that have all been scrapped for their similarity or in-uniqueness to the League of Legends story base. Ioran is, essentially an incredibly old, lost soul on the Shadow Isles searching for someone - his daughter? His companion? You make the decision.

Ioran also needs quotes, for moving, selection, attacking... the like. That can be taken care of after the lore is established, which may be awhile, though it will need to be discussed. I am still figuring it out, and if you would like to help, hit me up and we can work on it together.

Thanks!
