Why wasn't Chinese Splash Art implemented for Sivir.

I bought Warrior Princess Sivir because it was on sale. Now thing is that, though I noticed before that 4 of her skins are really unattractive(Bandit,Huntress,Warrior Princess and Spectacular) I wanted a skin for one of my ADC's and I only had 300 RP and wasn't gonna wait for Caitlyn or Ezreal sales. Now problem is that, I got really happy to know that RIOT was going to implement 33 Chinese skins instead of the NA ones. Much to my dismay not 1 Sivir skin was changed. So if RIOT could please do this so I and many other people can be happy with their skin and enjoy what we bought. Here's a picture of the NA and Chinese Warrior Princess Sivir Splash Art.

Hello King Odarth! Nice to meet you, my name is RiotCuring and I'm in Splash Art department.

Before I start, I thought I'd share our primary goals with splash art. A good splash art should contain not only the mood and personality of the character in style of League of Legends, but also reflect what the players will see when played in-game --- all in the most awesome way possible.

That being said, while I'm unsure what exact reason prevented us from updating this particular skin and we currently can't promise you an update, we will definitely check again to see if this is a 'clear win' for the players.

As for concerns of stylistic difference in art, we WILL replace the old splash art if it is a clear win even if art style is a bit different. A good example of this was Red Riding Annie splash change. Even though artistic style used in Chinese version was different from our current goals/style, it was so clear that it is an upgrade from the old NA splash that we decided to use it.

If any of you guys have solid suggestions in switching current NA splash art with art from other regions, please comment and let us know! we can plan a 2nd wave of splash art updates if we have solid recommendations. Our high-level goal is to eventually make every splash art in League of Legends awesome, so please bear with us through our long journey ahead. :)

TL;DR We can't promise the change for this particular but we will review the possibility of the change. Also please let us know if you have suggestions for any other splash updates (Other region art to NA).

The old dread knight garen was better. The new one has an incredibly tiny head. Also the old original sivir one was better. The new one looks creepy, has buck teeth and is way too contorted. I like every other splash though and think 99 percent of the chinese splashes are better (granny lux, lol).

I actually have to agree with this one. I'm a fan of most of the splash arts around the world, but the original NA version of Dreadknight Garen was definitely more appealing (to me) than the swapped version.

absolutely agree on DK Garen, chinese one looks mega-derpy.

As for sivir, she is contorted, but she looks more like her new model than the old splash with the floppy boobs and blue eyes.

Really? Have you not seen the current Taric splash arts (lol)? Almost every chinese version is better for every skin there's a different art for.

Okay, so since this is on-topic, you say for the Splash Arts to define the character pretty much, yet I don't see half of Ezreal's defining him as a cocky asshole. He looks angry in his classic skin, Frosted, Nottingham, Pulsefire.

Wow, those splash arts for Sivir are so much better than what we have. If her splash was updated to these I'd totally buy these skins. The splash art is about 50% of the reason I'd ever be convinced to buy a skin (the rest is the actual skin itself). And while the Chinese splash art may not be 100% accurate to the skin, they certainly trump the Western splash art.

Galio splash in chinese is amazing. Going back to the american classic Galio was such a step backwards.

Blade Mistress Morgana in chinese is amazing.

Primal Udyr in chinese splash is wow good!

Nope, nope, and nope. Taric needs a VU and new splash arts, but not this bogus chinese style where he's Anime. He needs a new look and splash art to go with it.

Ahri Hello! Please PLEASE P L E A S E change Dynasty Ahri's splash to the Chinese version!!!!!!!! This is one of the most glaringly superior Chinese arts in the game, she looks SO PRETTY in the Chinese splash and the outfit colors are MUCH closer to her ingame appearance with the skin. The current NA splash for Dynasty Ahri just looks so lifeless and cold and horrible, PLEASE change Dynasty Ahri's splash to the Chinese version!!! Thank you so much!

Phantom Karthus should really get his splash are switched. I mean he looks nothing like the current splash art and it even looks like the new Phantom Karthus was even designed to look like the chinese version,so it should be a natural choice to give him the chinese splash art too.

You asked for solid suggestions in switching current NA splash art with other regions (basically the Chinese splash art), well there are still a TON of better skin splash art left you could change. Hi, with regards to changing splash arts I was particularly curious about one. Desperada Cassiopeia splash. I don't see why you chose to change it? Could you care to elaborate or revise this change? It is one of my favorite skins and I feel the new splash is quite lack luster in comparison to the old splash (imo better looking one). Thanks! :^)

I think the Muse Sona splash art should be changed to the Chinese version. I feel it A. Is artistically nicer looking B. Portrays Sona's personality better and C. Looks closer to the in game model. I'm linking the two splashes for comparison.

Just adding that almost every Chinese splash art is better looking in terms of quality than the NA. Not sure why there is even different art for different regions anyway.

I think Kennen needs a look at, he has 2 skin splash arts that are just 100% recolors. His Deadly Kennen skin and his Swamp Master skin. Being a ninja his chines Swamp Master skin fits him much better than the current one and perhaps something can be done to his Deadly Kennen skin in the future?

Wut is with that Chinese art.

You can't even tell the skin is a nod to Xena, warrior princess with that. She doesn't have the right bangs or armor patterning, and the blade is pre-artwork update Sivir. It doesn't even look like the Chakram she has with that skin currently.

Normally I'm all for the Chinese art, they tend to have some really nice splashes with a nicer presentation. Can't say I like the Chinese one here more though. While it's more aesthetically pleasing; it's considerably more missleading and inaccurate in regards to the skin. I got that skin so I could AYAYAYAYAYAYAYA warrior princess things to death. Not so I could look like default Sivir wearing cloths.

Please Riot, switch Masquerade's splash arts. The Chinese one is far FAR better as opposed to the NA one. Hell, the Chinese Masquerade art is the reason I started playing League!

I won't argue with that. There's a lot of skins that look...not good. But like Riot said, these chinese skins are only a temporary (hue) placeholder until they update the NA ones. So there might not be a point to change them out.

Honestly I think the first three are a little tooo cartoony/anime style for my tastes and I really don't think that Huntress Sivir needs a new NA portrain (the other two, definitely), however that spectacular sivir splash DEFINITELY should have been changed. No offense to the original artist, but it really does not fit the current state of the game.

Sivir's got a very fierce personality and I find that that is reflected better in her american splashes vs the chinese ones. The feel in her huntress splash is more cockiness, she's the hunter and she's got her prey in sights and an easy kill. You ever do something in life that's physical and technical? It feels great, you get this sense of my god am I awesome. That's what I see in her face. That crazy ass landing she's about to have is the same thing.

If you're not sure what I mean, try parkour.

And @OP Splash art is only half the battle, I find that it's the in-game model that seals the deal. God was I happy with my warrior princess sivir when they gave her a VU, but I can't wait for the splash to be updated. Still not a fan of the chinese one however,

On the flip side, I have Road Warrior Miss Fortune and while I find the splash art to be absolutely gorgeous, the in-game model seriously needs a tune up to reflect it. Both the NA and Chinese versions of that splash are amazing and I'm happy with both, but the model falls off and I can't find myself playing it over Mafia or the new Arcade.

To the initial poster;

I agree the Chinese splashes of Sivir are much more skilfully done. And some splashes definitely need a rework!

But that up there is not really Sivir . I look at the image of Warrior Princess and I cant imagine that face and stance saying this: http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/e/e9/Sivir.joke01.ogg I think of Sivir as(sexy yes) but a fearsome, very tough, cold-hearted woman, Not some high school girl! Trowing unfocused glance, far away... somewhere... The Chinese Huntress is the only one I see Sivir in.

The other examples I saw too, some are really good (Khartus, Caitlyn and Eve's) but most just are not representing the character of the champs. And I never imagined that Taric had a face of a Chinese male model :D .

And others are not good at all! @Realtor u really think that classic Jana and Leona look better in your attachments then the current ones ?!

How about, instead of suggesting skin replacements that you like, have a Riot team with an eye for beauty observe and compare ALL the NA & Chinese splashes and replace them carefully.
