Support/itemization/item slots

Okay, so supports are already playing from behind with a gold deficit unless they just roflstomp their lane. All well and good. But can we talk about the support item. Everyone understands the importance of vision or should, and sightstone is mandatory and not like I would give it up for anything else, but the stats on them are kind of weak. I understand you don't want to make it too powerful that solo lanes will pick them up, but about a look at it? I like how grail with spellthief kind buffs the stats on it, sort of like crit stacking for IE. This kind of would help with it if more sup items in tandem would increase it's strength. What about also making a legendary upgrade?

Let's talk about pink wards. I need them, I have to have them, but it's two little items costing 150 a pop taking up an item slot for building or another item. What about an upgrade to sightstone, a final one that has two pinks with it? I know it might be complicated to solve the problem of two separate item activations from one slot. What about a backpack upgrade that gives an extra item slot? I'm sick of hitting a glass ceiling in games because I have no room to build or actually have items as a support. This arguably the most thankless role that most except for your diehard supports like myself enjoy playing. Can we get a little quality of life love?
