Let's talk Darkins (attempt 2)
So recently I've been getting very inspired by reading Aatrox lore (it's his doing, I know it O.o) and I thought I'd write my first fanfic piece on the story of the last 5 Darkins (or maybe start with just one of them and then progress with the others)
The idea comes from a seperate board asking rito when we'll get some info on the other 4 Darkins because let's admit it, they're awesome (@Twined Hopper), but reading into the post I noticed an awesome idea that was only touched on but I'd like to expand into a story: the idea that one of the 2 Darkins that are not accounted for in history (maybe both? Not quite sure yet) somehow managed to discover a gap between dimensions and become consumed by it, being able to manipulate the space around him/her into a place of corrupted space and time, fusing with the space around and spawning creations like Malzahar, Vel'Koz, etc.
Feedback?? Ideas?? I'd love to hear from you guys because I love this concept and am dying to write about it!
EDIT: CRAZY SHIT BELOW. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK (please read it <3)
Random thing: I know this was a year ago but I'm getting hella into it and am writing some spicy fanfic about this. I'm supposing that the Darkin are not weapons, but formless beings of desire that may take hold of whateverso they choose to fuse their power with
is not only the blade: He was, at one point, blood. From the blood arose (I know, weird choice of words but I'll get more into detail when I actually finish it). A figure and a sword, bound to each other by the being that is Aatrox. I believe that the Darkins have always existed, however they have moments of weakness as they transfer their beings to another entity. This is how the Darkin do not grow in number, however it is how they live throughout the ages. When the humanoid being of Aatrox dies in battle, his sword replenishes his spirit with gathered blood and power, RESTORING THE FIGURE BUT DRAINING ENERGY FROM THE BLADE.
That's my point. Darkins are not figures. They aren't physical entities. They are Earth-bound celestial beings that occupy physical matter and twist it to their will.
What I want to create is this:
We know that there are 5 darkin still out there. One of them is Aatrox, and another (thank you, @dialMARK4action) I'm convinced was sealed away by
until he allowed it to corrupt him (however the thing with Varus is weird because he is slightly fueled by his own will. In this way I believe that Varus managed to hold back the complete takeover by the Darkin who was sealed away. More to come :D), and the others exist in the shadows without revealing their true identity.
IT IS BECAUSE OF THIS that I choose to dive into the topic that ONE OF THE DARKIN DISCOVERED A GAP BETWEEN DIMENSIONS and was able to transfer ALMOST all of his entirety from one dimension to the other, creating a twisted land of nothingness KNOWN AS THE VOID.
Stay with me here.
The Darkin, due to being bound to the earth, are unable to leave. However, the new dimension discovered by the Darkin was still an earthly boundary. It exists on the earth, however it does not exist by any earthly means (WHAT). It is due to their binds to the Earth that the Darkin was UNABLE TO FULLY TRANSFER HIMSELF INTO BECOMING THE VOID.
Hear me out.
The League of Legends Wiki states that the void has a connection with the city of Icathia. Strenghts of the void and the voidborn seem to appear there, showing a very clear relationship. This shows that the Darkin who discovered the new dimension has a portion of himself left on earth, without which he would not be able to exist (earthbound ties). Because ALL OF HIS POWER was transferred to the void, the piece of him left on Earth is hidden far below the city of Icathia, for the void was created long before the city existed. The connections to void can be seen here because it is the closest place to where the void and the earthly dimension interlapse, and the Darkin NEEDS HIS EARTHLY BOUND SPIRIT TO SURVIVE. This is why many voidborn appear in Icathia: if there is ever any possibility of harm to the Darkin's extremely vulnerable earthly spirit, he dispatches his creations to safeguard it.
I'm so excited to write all of this out in a story. Just wanted to thank you for all of the inspiration!!!
