Taric REWORK!!!!

Hey ^-^ I was really happy with the Poppy rework, and after a little bit I began to think of another champion that deserves a rework. Taric was my first thought, and that was because I've been playing League of Legends for like 5 months now, and I've only seen a Taric once, and that was when he was free to play. So I think he can really use a rework to get him back into the game. He might be powerfull right now, but at the moment, in my opinion, I don't think the popularity of a champion relies on how powerfull he is, but more on playmaking potential, since Taric has none, he gets played almost never anymore.

So this is my idea:

Passive: Armor of the Gem Knight Damage dealt to Taric whenever an ally is nearby is reduced . Aditionally, whenever Taric takes this reduced damage, a shard of his armor flies off. This piece of his armor can be picked up by allies, which grants a small heal, and temporarily increased Armor and Magic Resist.

Q: Shimmering Blight Taric channels a small laser beam for 1.5 seconds that stops at the first enemy hit. This beam deals continues damage, but can be interupted by any form of CC. If Taric can focus one enemy down for 0.75 seconds, he becomes slowed, and if he can focus that same enemy for the entire 1.5 seconds, he stuns that enemy. Note that Taric is not immobilized during this channel time, but recieves a slow of 50% his movement speed.

W: Crystal Barrier Taric summons a crystal dome on the ground, which takes 0.75 second to arm. When the dome is fully grown, it shields from enemy abilities. If an enemy is inside, the cant shoot abilities out. If an enemy is outside, they cant shoot abilities in. Tarics Q also can interact with the dome. When taric shoots his Q from outside into the dome, the dome starts to glow, and it damages any enemy inside, and heals any ally inside. When the beam is shot from inside the dome, the beam becomes stronger and doesnt stop on the first enemy hit, but extends to his full range. The beam also does additional and heals allies that get hit by it. Note that the Crystal Barrier has health equal to half of Taric's health, but has no armor or magic resist. So this ability scales very bad in team fights, but can block an ability or two in any state of the game.

E: Blinding Light Passive: Whenever an ally picks up one of Taric's shards, they mark enemies with their auto attacks, untill the shard's effect is done. Active: Taric explodes all the shards in his range, damaging enemies. If an enemy with marks on them gets struck, they take more damage, get blinded, and get slowed.

R: Protector's Catalyst Taric summons a giant crystal pillar that acts as an untargetable turret. This turret stands for 15 seconds. Taric can also buff the tower. After he channels his entire Q on his turret, its fire speed gets faster. Also, if he channels his Q from inside the dome of his W, the tower shoots out strong lasers to any enemy champion nearby.

Math: Passive: Damage Reduction: 10%/12%/16%/20%/25% (+10% AP) . Defenses boost is 10%/12%/14%/16%/20% (+10% of Taric's AP). Heal is 15% of taric's missing health.

Q: Damage: 150/200/250/300/400 (+80% AP) which means 30/40/50/60/80 (16% AP) per tick.

W: Empowerment of Q: 20%/30%/40%/50%/75% (+10% of max health). Heal is 120/200/300/400/500 (+100% AP).

E: Damage of explosions: 100/150/200/250/300 (+70% AP) + 90 per stack. Blinding duration: 2.0/2.5/3.0/3.2/3.5 seconds. Slow: 10% per stack

R: Damage: 500/800/1200 (+20% AP). Speedup by Q: 10%/20%/40% (50% AP : 8). Laser damage from empowered Q: 200/300/400 (+100% AP) All damage is Magic Damage.

Also, I think Taric deserves a visual update. Unfortunatly, I don't have any artwork. That's all, bye ^-^.

This kit focuses more on light manipulation than a gem motif. While I like the passive, the rest of the abilities kinda go against it.

Q forces your -tank- to stay still for far too long just to stun one person.

W (even without the interaction with Q) is insanely overpowered. A dome that enhances allies and completely shuts down enemy casters? No way. At least with Yasuo you can still quickly walk through/around his wall to continue fighting.

E has a nice functionality to it, but the damage and blind is way too strong. Like, way, wayy too strong. Cut the duration and damage in half, then remove the slow, and you'll have a good ability.

Thematically, his ultimate doesn't even make much sense. I get that you can use crystals and such to focus light, but Taric is this hammer-wielding Paladin gem warrior. Nothing about this kit encourages close combat with enemies other than the passive, and that's only if you're with your team.

Dazzle (which is an ability that uses light) is used to catch up to an enemy. The farther they are, the stronger the stun got. These abilities just make Taric a portable turret but even safer, and that's terrible.

He already next on the rework list and Riot already have the kit done. They are finishing up his visual looks, his particles, and his new voice/line.

Well, you guys were wrong I guess. It's not Taric who gets reworked, but Shen. As we know now thanks to the PBE.

Thanks Onimarus, for your opinion on the abilities, and thank you all for the quite positive comments. And also, Onimarus, we all know that champions who get reworked or just new champions are very overpowered when they get released, and then completally nerfed into the ground where they are almost impossible to play.

Also, the blind and slow only happen when the enemy is marked, and that has quite the mechanic behind it. So I think that that makes it a little less overpowered. Also, I forgot to mention that Taric's Q stops at first enemy hit I believe, and also that his W is VERY small. It's almost smaller than mega Gnar, so that also should decrease its effectiveness a bit. Thats basically all.

Edit: I have made some small changes to the post, such as that Taric now can move during the channel, but with only 50% of his movement speed, and his W has half of taric's health, but no armor or magic resist, so it is very vulnerable from abilities in late game. But it will stop a Jinx rocket if the taric player has good reflexes and can place the dome in time. But some players don't have those reflexes, and since the dome takes some time to arm, it is hard to do something like that.
