Alright folks, this is my 1st Concept post for the past two years so i'm a little rusty, please give me your guys honest thoughts & opinions.

So we all know that the Void is a pretty messed up place, you either survive it or die in it, and the creatures that live in the Void are not exactly the friendliest. so i wanted to come up with a champion that takes the norm theme of the Void and sort of mix it up. so i created this champion, a human who was warped by the dark forces of the Void, but despite loosing his human appearance he managed to stay who he was. i wanted to make a character that looked alien, yet a lovable and enjoyable person to be around.

.now as for Hal'Vexa's game play. he is a Mage Support that is suppose to control the lane by zoning off areas or make enemies not go into a certain part of the lane, while also being able to put his teammates in a prime position to tackle the enemy. so use his more damaging Abilities to corral your enemies or cut off their escape to make them easier prey, and use some of your more utility Abilities to help them escape harm or give them a hand in traversing the Map.

Is skin his dark grey, the underbelly scales are violet in color. (Clothing & Special features) .Hal’Vexa wears a large spiked carapace chest plate, on the back are two very old worn out rags. On the left one is a symbol that shows where he originates from, but the pattern is virtually worn away. (Equipment) .

Innate Passive: Reality Tears. Whenever Hal’Vexa uses an Ability he will gain a Tear. Hal’Vexa can have up to 5 Tears at a time, each Tear will cause Hal’Vexa’s next Basic Attack 40(+10pts per Lv.) (+45% bonus AP) bonus Magic Damage. These enhanced Auto-Attacks can trigger on-hit effects from Items.

Q-Ability: Portal Grasp. Range: 400. Cool Down: 12/11.5/11/10.5/10/9.5. Cost: 45. Magic Damage: 35/55/75/95/115(+50% bonus AP). Activation: After Hal’Vexa has chosen a 95-radius location within this Abilities Casting Range and after a 0.25 second delay after the initial activation a portal will open up, any enemies currently on the open portal are sucked in. after an enemy is sucked into the portal they re-appear within 200-radius in front of Hal’Vexa after a 0.25 second delay. When an enemy re-appears they drop to the location being dealt Magic Damage and then being Stunned for 1.25 seconds.

W-Ability: World Tear. Range: 850. Cool Down: 18/16/14/12/10. Cost: 70/80/90/100/110. Activation: After Hal’Vexa has chosen a single point within this Abilities Casting Range then upon activation Hal’Vexa will create a Tear that will last for 7 seconds. While the Tear is active allies can Right-Click on it, and once they do they will be sucked in through the Tear and re-appear next to Hal’Vexa 0.20 second later.

E-Ability: Rift Rupture. Range: 600. Cool Down: 23/22/21/20/19. Cost: 85/95/105/115/125. Magic Damage per Tick: 20/30/40/50/60(+40% bonus AP). Total Damage: 100/150/200/250/300. Movement Speed Slow: 25/30/35/40/45%. Activation: After Hal’Vexa has chosen a single point within the Casting Range he then has to select another single point, but within 225-radius of the first point. Once both points are chosen Hal’Vexa will rip open portals to dark realms, the portals then expel dark energy covering a 185-width path between both portals for 2.5 seconds.

While this ability is active any enemies within the path will be dealt Magic Damage every 0.5 seconds. While enemies are in the path they will also have their Movement Speed Slowed, they will continue to be Slowed for 1.5 seconds after leaving the path.

R-Ability: Plains Walker. Range: Self-Cast. Cool Down: 185/165/145. Cost: 100. Activation: After Hal’Vexa has activated this ability he will slip into a separate dimension by opening a portal, while in this separate dimension Hal’Vexa is Undetectable & has 50% increased Movement Speed for 12 seconds. At the end of the duration or when Hal’Vexa Re-activates this Ability he will re-appear back onto the Map but with full stacks of Tears.

After the initial activation the portal will remain open until Hal’Vexa exits back onto the Map, Allies can Right-Click on the portal to enter the separate dimension for 12 seconds. In order for Allies to exit this dimension they either have to wait until the duration has ended, or Right-Click on the portal that Hal’Vexa has made when he re-activates this Ability.

LORE: Traveling Beyond the Realms. .i'm not usually one who puts in Lore's to his concepts, but while i was coming up with Hal'Vexa i sort-of started writing something like a short story. hope you guys like it.

Chilling winds blow as the late night mist dampen the air. The Twii family, a family of merchants & performs have set up camp just off the main road to Demacia. The family consist of a father & mother with two kids, a little & a little girl. There are also two aunts & uncles, a grandma & grandpa & 4 cousins. The family is sitting around a fire eating and talking about the places they have been to, despite the earlier chill the family no longer feel the cold, all they feel is the fire and the warm company that surrounds it.

“Hello.” a far off voice called out, slightly frightening the family. “Hello there.” the voice said this time a bit louder.

“Who’s there?” Garret the second uncle called as he readies his rifle. The family soon has their answer.

Drifting into the light of the fire & the 4 lamps that lit the camp site was an alien creature that frightens the family. The creature was tall, being an astonishing 7ft while floating a foot above the ground. the creature appeared to be wearing a strange chitin like armor chest plate and its scaly tail lazily flick to & fro, the tendrils on its head would twitch every so often. The strange creature floated directly in front of the family and yet despite its frightening appearance, the family didn’t sense any form of hostiles.

“Please forgive me I didn’t mean to frighten you.” The creature said in an ambient echo male voice. “It’s nice to you, my name is Hal’Vexa, and I was wondering if I could join you tonight?” the creature asked as it gestured to the fire pit with its flexible tail.

Probably against their better judgment the family allowed the bizarre creature to join them. Hal’Vexa then floated down to one of the unoccupied logs surrounding the fire.

“Thank you for your hospitality, I just need to give my feet a break. Oh wait I don’t have feet anymore.” Hal’Vexa said as he laughed at his own jab.

“Who or what exactly are you exactly if I may ask?” Julia the mother of the two children asked hesitantly.

Hal’Vexa chuckled at the mother’s weariness and began telling his story. Hal’Vexa was once a simple man who dreamed of seeing the world outside of his small village, he ultimately got his wish, but it wasn’t the world traveling experience he wished for. One day a portal opened above his village sucking in half of the town before closing, and Hal’Vexa was one of the people sucked into the Void.
Despite being in the Void Hal’Vexa was able to survive while others didn’t, but the longer he stayed in the Void the more he could feel the dark realm change him, until he looked as he does know. Sometime during his imprisonment in Void Hal’Vexa realized that his transformation was somewhat of a blissing in disguise, he later found out that his new form has given him the ability to portals…portals to other realms.

Hal’Vexa then starts spinning tails of where he has ended up, or has come to by accident. From a world of living fire, to a beautiful forest world filled with creatures of myth and legends, to even a world covered in water but hides dark creatures under its watery depth. The family was entranced by Hal’Vexa’s story, Ella the 8yr old daughter was enjoying the tales that Hal’Vexa was spinning of his travels, and she even sat next to him and even started to play with the tip of his tail.

“You certainly have seen many wonders my friend.” Hardy the 1st uncle said before taking a drink of his rum.

“I have seen worlds that look like paradise. I have even visited worlds that would make you laugh your socks off.” Hal’Vexa said before absorbing his own mug of rum through his tendrils.

“I wish I could see such realms beyond ours.” Grandmother Tula said before taking a bite of her meal.

“Perhaps if our paths cross again I could take you all on a field trip.” The family then cheered for the opportunity to visit other worlds.

As the family and guest cheered and shared more stories, something caught Darrel the third cousin attention. Off in the darkness the young man could hear twigs snapping, and rustling of some bushes. Grabbing his musket Darrel fired a shot into the darkness, scaring the other occupants of the camp. Before anyone could register what was going on, arrows started to fly out, striking four members of the family killing them instantly. Luckily Hal’Vexa’s body had a thick scaly hide and his armor reflected the arrows, protecting him & the two children. Then a group of twenty bandits came rushing out of the shadows, all armed with weapons.
The father of the children asked Hal’Vexa to take the children and run, while he and the remaining members fight. But Hal’Vexa had other ideas. Quickly using his tail to slice open a portal Hal’Vexa ushered the children to enter, once they were inside the pocket space he closed it and joined in the fight.

It was brutal fight, but with Hal’Vexa with them the family was able to beat the bandit, but the damage had already been done. The only survivors, aside from Ella & Kyle, Garret & Julia along with Tula and Darrel and Miranda survived. Once the fighting is over Hal’Vexa opened the pocket space to let the children out and join back with their family. The family buried their dead and started to mourn, feeling sadden for the family Hal’Vexa came up with an idea to lift their spirits.

“My friends I know this may not be the best of times, but how about I take you from this…sad sight?” the remaining members of the family looked to their new friend.

“Where to?” Ella said as she tugged on his tail.

“Someplace that’s like paradise.” With a motion of his left head tendril a portal opened up, revealing a golden sunrise over what looks like a pearl white city.

i kind of like the bard-esque passive on the auto attacks

i would love to see some sort of visual for Hal'Vexa, i also like how he is a friendly creature from the void with support role. Would Malzahar have anything to do with his lore or maybe Velkoz ??

First Thoughts

Could do with taking a look at the wiki and re-writing the abilities so that they match the normal format. Otherwise, beyond his ultimate, he feels exceedingly similar to Thresh (but without the same versatility).

Passive - Reality Tears

A decent effect (well yeah, it's an AP version of Riven's passive) that nonetheless seems entirely out of place in a kit that provides little reason to wait until cashing out your stacks. You have two short-mid range abilities that you'd likely be auto-attacking during anyway, and a utility spell that you're probably not going to be wasting just for a fairly small (assumably) amount of magic damage.

Speaking of which, I believe you may have inadvertently given this too high an AP ratio. 0.45 per attack is quite high, even with a kit that doesn’t entirely facilitate it; compare and contrast either Lux or Diana.

Q - Portal Grasp

A passable support ability that seems more present for thematic elements than what it brings to the kit. My biggest issue is with its numerical values, which make it limited (due to range and AOE), but trivial to hit due to how short its delay is. The whole ‘portal allies into your team’ works fine as an ability.

W - World Tear

Soooooo, it's Thresh's Lantern, basically. It loses the shield and can pull multiple allies, yes, but it’s still functionally Dark Passage. Don’t have much to say on this one. Think he could do with a more unique way of rendering that specific element of his portals.

E - Rift Rupture

Almost certainly should use Vector targeting rather than relying on a re-target. Like the Q, a fine ability at its core, but the numbers it’s surrounded by leave much to be desired and they more or less render it little more than a ground targeted AOE, akin to a Morgana puddle.

R - Plains Walker

Pretty sure you meant 'Planes Walker'. As a support, I feel like this is probably his most interesting ability, since it makes him a very definite, level 6 ganker with a big, roaming cooldown to play around, kinda like the support version of Taliyah. That said, the numbers on this ability are excessively high, even if you were to discount his ability to bring allies with him. Even if this only lasted a couple of seconds, it might still be too potent.

Thematics

For the most part, Hal'Vexa remains reasonably on-brand as a space manipulating void monsters...Though his thematic doesn't really elevate him. There isn’t really much depth to him in this regard, since literally all his abilities are ‘messes around with void portals’ in various ways; ‘Put your enemy through one, put your allies through one, open one that spits out void stuff and pull yourself and any of your team through one’. I feel like he could do with a little more variation, or perhaps just some personality behind his abilities (which are all very mechanical in how they act).

Overview

Hal’Vexa isn’t necessarily a bad idea, and there’s a potential core to him that might be interesting (mostly focused around his Q, E and R), but his kit gives me the vibe of filling out a check list of what you want your champion's functions to be, per their gimmick in the lore. He does have a fairly defined playstyle as a ganking support, but...He feels a little off.

Still, not a bad effort for being as rusty as you say.

Personal Suggestions

Replace passive and W entirely. Passive doesn't gel with the rest of his kit and his W encroaches far too heavily on Thresh's territory, in addition to being somewhat redundant with his ultimate.

Tune numbers on Q to be more appropriate with abilities in general.

E can go in a number of ways, and you could possibly just fix the numbers, but I think reducing the damage as it passes through enemies might give it more of a reason to be as it currently is (rather than just a ground targeted AOE ability).

R needs some pretty massive adjustments to its numbers. Currently, it offers the ability to initiate both from a massively long range, and without the ability to detect you. It really should only have one of those at most.
