Wilus, the Decaying Overlord
Wilus, the Decaying Overlord
Lore: Wilus was a ruler of a small city on the coast of the Plague Jungles. He was a mighty ruler, but not a very well liked one. He ruled with an iron fist and didn’t let go. He had lots of servants whom he disrespected and forced to do unsettling task. Anyone who tried to escape was punished brutally. The servants who survived their punishments lived even more scared of Wilus.
One day the servants planned a revolt against their unruly ruler. They tainted his food, lacing it with a deadly magic poison. Once they served the food to their king, he demanded a food tester to try it before he did. A young servant boy hire to test the food walked up to the plate and pulled off a small piece of chicken. This was the only part of the meal that wasn’t poisoned, so when he ate it he was unharmed. Wilus then began to dive into his meal, but halfway through his stomach began to churn. He threw up all over the rest of the meal and tried to summon his guards, but before he could get three feet from his chair he died.
Wilus’s death was celebrated all over the city. The citizens packed their bags and planned to begin new lives all over Runeterra. In a matter of weeks, the city had become almost empty, leaving only a few who couldn’t afford to move anywhere else. But deep in the recesses of the home of the king, Wilus’s had been left to rot. Maggots and flies covered both him and his uneaten meal. The maggots were poisoned and when they began to feast on Wilus, they brought him back to life. Wilus was missing an eye, a leg, all the fingers on his left hand, and a bit of his sanity. But with the magic from the poison, he was able to repair his body, replacing the missing parts with maggots and rotting meat.
Now that Wilus was reborn, he was on the hunt for the only thing that satisfied him now, the decayed dead. His insatiable hunger could only be put to rest if he fought in the League of Legends to regain the missing piece of himself that he always needed.
Appearance: Wilus is a bony thin man with all the missing body parts as seen in the lore replaced with black maggots and flies. He has on a broken crown.
Abilities- Passive-Smelly: Wilus always has a thick cloud of flies around him that deal magic damage to all melee attackers. The flies will deal more damage the higher his level.
First Ability-Swarm: Wilus summons a small swarm of flies to chase a target champion. The fly swarm gets larger and faster the longer it travels. The larger, the more damage it deals. The flies also damage all enemies they pass through chasing the target.
Seconds Ability-Rotting meat: Wilus passively gets a champion specific bonus item. Actively allows Wilus to throw rotting meat on the ground. Three maggots will try to eat the meat, taking 30 seconds to do so. If anything comes near them while they eat, they will attack the attackers, and if they kill them they will carry on eating, but if they die then he has to wait for 2 minutes to get rotting meat back, and his rotting meat item will be reset. If the maggots finish the meat, he can pick up the bone to reset his item and the maggots will disappear.
Third Ability-Deadly Packing: Wilus packs any living unit with maggots, dealing damage. If that unit dies within the next minute, it will explode spreading maggots onto all enemy units in a circle around it. Those maggots eat away at the enemies magic armor, and deal magic damage.
Ultimate-Return to the Dead: Wilus will summon a huge wave of both maggots and flies to travel both behind and in front of him that last for 3 seconds. The swarm will damage and blind all enemy champions in side the large block. Wilus is allowed to cast one more ability while inside the swarm, but after doing so, or if he doesn’t at all, he will instantly die. He will split the gold with the entire enemy team.
Champion specific item: Wilus will always carry rotting meat. Rotting meat can be upgraded in the shop for free, but it takes time for the insects to eat away at the meat and get his item taking longer for each branch. Then he will have to return to the store to pick up his item. But using Rotting meat(his Q) will cause the item to reset, allowing him to change the upgrade path.
