Loca is a utility mage who wields the power of mountain waters to zone and influence enemy positioning. Pulling off combinations with his abilities are intuitive and flexible. Mastering these combinations will prove a rewarding endeavor, whether in-lane, skirmishing or team fighting.

Inspiration

This champion started off with the idea of using ellipses (ovals) as a new basic skillshot shape (not circles). So Loca's name is derived from the geometric term "locus", which is used in the most common method of explaining ellipse maths.

I was also influenced by waterjet cutting, which is used to cut metals without warping its shape, or materials that crack if you try to cut them normally. The fact that water can be used to cut things is weird... and cool.

And going off the theme of water (but also trying to be different from Nami) I was influenced by this scene from LotR and whitewater rapids in general: http://i.makeagif.com/media/12-01-2015/wFn2uZ.gif So epic.

Lore

TL;DR version is below, you can read the full version when I post it.

Loca and his twin sister, Corelle, were born into a Lunari tribe hiding in the forests at the base of mount Targon. Their tribe lives in close harmony with the creatures there. The river nymphs look after the streams and springs that water the forests, but every 100 years they require an abyssal pearl to maintain their magic. To get the abyssal pearl, the Lunari trade a moonstone with someone (Nami) from the ocean.

This time, Loca and Corelle must go to the top of Mt Targon to get the moonstone. They borrow the powers of these creatures to help them take on the challenge. Corelle chooses the sylphs, Loca chooses the nymphs.

When they get the moonstone, they accidentally break it in half, so Loca has half, and Corelle takes the other half.

As they return from the mountain, Corelle senses something is wrong so she runs to the Lunari temple. When Loca catches up, she's dead gone and the temple has been plundered. The only clues left are some coins a stranger dropped from Bilgewater.

So Loca vows to take revenge on all of Bilgewater, and especially the stranger with yellow eyes.

Abilities

{{summoner:2}}

[Passive] - Moonstone Shard

Loca has an increased vision radius (bad idea - already tested on Teemo. credit: @KWEEEN) Loca has uninterrupted vision in a radius around him (through walls too) like a mini Quinn W that starts out at size 0 and grows as he levels up_ Alternatively Loca has true vision around himself, but he has a reduced vision radius You could combine these three options and have them as special trinket items for Loca to choose from

[Q] - Nymph Blade

ACTIVE (skillshot): Loca's signature ability, he strikes with an elliptical curving blade of water. The blade also moves relative to Loca's movement. At long range, the ellipse is long and narrow; at close range, the ellipse is short and wide (see diagram).

http://i550.photobucket.com/albums/ii427/maouw/Loca/Loca%20Q.png

This simplified control of ellipses should be easy to get used to and become intuitive. What would really set the pros apart from the amateurs is the ability to move with the ellipse - even more control over the ability

[W] - Gates of Opia

ACTIVE (first cast): Loca sends out a small wave in a cone shape, damaging any enemy champions who touch it. ACTIVE (second cast): A wall of water (Gate of Opia) rises at the wave's position, enemies can walk through the wall but they will be slowed while touching it. The wall halves the speed of all enemy projectiles, and enemies who try to dash through the wall are instantly suspended.

http://i550.photobucket.com/albums/ii427/maouw/Loca/Loca%20W.png

The Gate of Opia is a soft wall that doesn't present an immediate threat (at first), but splits a battle field in half. It's excellent for kiting champions who like to dash out of trouble, forcing them to rethink how to use their dash. It functions as a semi-normal wall for allies who make use of walls (Poppy, Vayne, Gnar, etc.) and even a few who don't (Aurelion Sol, Thresh, Gragas, etc.) suspending enemies who get pushed into it. But it's real synergy is with the rest of Loca's abilities

summoner 6

[E] - Moondrop

ACTIVE (first cast): Loca places a body of water at his location and gains a boost in movement speed ACTIVE (second cast): Loca fires two projectiles, one from himself and one from the body of water, toward his mouse location damaging any enemies struck.

If the projectile strikes a Gate of Opia, the gate collapses, damaging and pushing away enemies on either side of the wall.

If the projectile strikes a wall, the wall explodes dealing bonus damage to enemies hit, and a moonspring flows out of the wall for _ seconds.

  • Standing on a moonspring grants increased regen and bonus decaying movespeed

http://i550.photobucket.com/albums/ii427/maouw/Loca/Loca%20E.png

Think of this ability as a flexible activator - either for straight up damage, or to punish anyone standing too close to the gate or a wall, or to assist an incoming gank with the bonus movespeed provided by the moonspring. The first activation of this ability is Loca's only mobility tool, so it needs to be used wisely. Poor use of this skill will get punished easily.

item 3461

[R] - White Call

ACTIVE: Loca pours his bowl onto the ground. An indicator will mark a large area of the floor for 4 seconds. During this time, pressing [R] will change the flow direction. At the end of this time, water will keep knocking back any enemies in the area to the edge.

http://i550.photobucket.com/albums/ii427/maouw/Loca/Loca%20R.png

Loca's ultimate is primarily a zoning tool. 4 seconds indication is plenty of time for anyone to get out of the way. Those who choose to stay will not get away unscathed. Place a Gate of Opia on anyone caught in the rapids for maximum effect (certain death).

extended vision used to be an old passive for teemo then it was deemed too op and now he has camouflage
