Making Old Akali more Fun to Play (New Champion)
Hi! One of the issues with the old Akali was that 90% of the time, you use the same combo. So I've wanted to brainstorm ways to allow for and make a need to create new combos, depending on what you want to do.
There are lots of ways to create/allow for new combos/strategies within one champion. I chose two of them.
For example, Akali's Mark of the Assassin could only detonate on the second attack (ability or basic) no matter who was the target of attack one. And, it could have different effects depending on which attack detonates the mark:
Basic attack = more damage & restores energy Twilight Shroud = life steals to Akali (need to use on the opponent or the mark is gone here) Crescent Slash = knocks back Shadow Dance = stuns, very little
This would create a lot more combos and strategies depending on what you're trying to do. And it could be called finisher's mark. The changes aren't in stone in my mind. I just want to suggest a type of change.
I also thought about players assigning what the primary passive can do: 3rd basic attack heals, 2nd basic attack restores energy, or every basic attack does more damage (the order of procing is global and only restarted if you switch choices). But I really like the original primary passive. I hope there's no change here.
Akali does not need to be reworked back. I think Riot could create a new champion that fights almost exactly the same way as the old Akali.
What does everyone think? Would this change make old Akali fun again? Are there any other issues that I'm missing? I haven't played the Old Akali, but I was hoping to! Thanks for your feedback.
