Akali's Sustain

Hi! Do fellow Akali mains think that she's been nerfed too hardly? I'm a beginner. But I've noticed that because of her low damage, now, it's an uphill battle. Other champions do better. And she has a 40% win rate.

I believe that Akali shouldn't heal 50% of her health with Q. But having a life-steal at all, makes sense. She's an assassin. Perhaps her heal, from life-steal using Q, could be capped at 1/5 her max health. Or Riot could apply diminishing returns. The heal scales with damage done and who it hits right? It's a life-steal. And I think it makes sense.

I saw that a YouTuber said that now Akali's only a situational pick instead of a general pick. I think it's better if anyone, wanting to play Akali, can play her whenever they want (or close to it). And I think it would be better if all champions have near 50% win rates.

If I have missed anything, pls correct me. Was the reworked Akali overpowered when first released? Is she underpowered now?

Riot pretty much acknowledged the rework was a failure and they overnerfed her so they can have more time to decide what direction to take the champion.

Akali does not need a free laning phase. If anything should come back, it’s not the free sustain.

Tbh it seems like they have two options.

  1. Give her back some form of sustain.
  2. Increase her base stats

In terms of base stats (namely armour and health), she's as squishy as ADCs. Jhin has more HP and armour than her at level 1 and 18. As she has low base stats and no built in sustain, she gets eaten alive in lane by pretty much anything and everything. That combined with the fact that she has to consistently be in melee range to deal damage means, she's pretty shit.

She has no winning lanes and literally every champ in the game mid lane or top lane counter her.
