Susumu, The Master Seeker
Because there aren't enough support champions that make supporting not feel boring.
Lore:
Susumu was a young pupil around the age of ten, famous for his amazing talent, in the Order of Shadows. He is the son of a warrior from the old order, which the Order of Shadows defeated, but was unaware of his origin. He was four years old when they found him, tucked away in a sealed part of the temple. As the young boy became a bit older, he was on the path to becoming the successor to the headmaster,
.
However,
disliked the idea so much, he stabbed young Susumu in the stomach while he slept. As Susumu awoke,
taunted him by telling him that he was the son of the great ninja warrior and brother to a mortal enemy:
. Zed also tells Susumu that he killed his father in the exact same way, by stabbing his stomach and leaving him to bleed.
left the Susumu to die, as Susumu opened his eyes in terror to see his lifeblood spill. Using his last bit of strength, he infused his spirit energy into his own shadow, as his body fell cold. The shadow of Susumu came to life, yet had no thought or direction. It wandered the room with aimless and panic, mindless and wayless.
It took hours before the shadow began to feed off of the body of it's creator and became Susumu once more. Now in the form of a shadow, Susumu learns to utilize everything he has learned. He ventures the temple of the Order of Shadows, as a shadow himself, hiding amongst them to find a sacred treasure. He had heard about it during a meditation from shadow master, it was the great ninja warrior's armor.
The yellow robes of his father were on display, like a trophy, within a locked and forbidden room of the temple. Susumu pulled the robes and weaponry once belonging to his father into his form and sneaked out of the room. He spent days amongst them, from a safe distance, watching the moves of
. Knowing the man who killed him also killed his father, Susumu followed Zed into the league of Legends...but was unable to join at first.
Susumu had a problem, he wasn't strong enough to take human form and wield his father's weaponry. Altough the robes and equipment of his father lay safe and sound within his mystical form, he still needed more power. After much meditation and learning, Susumu invented a way where he can combine his shadow energy with that of anyone else. Now he had the tool to resume his form, dawn his father's armor and join his older brother in the fight against the man who killed their father.
Appearance: When in physical form, he is wearing his father's yellow robes and armor pieces. He is not human, so their is no skin wear the uncovered part of his face is. He also has no eyes, so it's nothing but blackness behind the mask. He has a shadow, but it's not quite his...though it takes the form of his father's armor still...His father's armor has a hole where the stomach is and the mask seperated from neckpieces, as that's where Susumu's father was stabbed and beheaded by the same man as him. Lastly, Susumu is the shadow of a dead child, not a man, though his shadow form binded with a master's shadow (the master is the ally he binds to) he takes the form of his father/ a fully grown man and wears his father's combat robes. He has the voice of a young boy...but it is strong and almost remorseful in tone, not helpless and high pitch sounding.
Note: I don't care too much about the lore, so the champions kit is more important to me.
Stats: Health - 650 (+60 per level) Health regen- 3 per five seconds (0.7 per level) Energy - 300 Attack damage - 51 (2 per level) Attack Speed -3.3 (2% per level) Move Speed - 355 Attack range - 125 (melee) Armor - 32 (3 per level) Magic resist - 31 (2.8 per level)
Passive - The Formless Follower Upon starting the game, all Susumu's abilities are replace with "Master Bind" which requires to be casted on allies. If uncasted, Susumu will be a shadow on the ground, untargetable and useless. When he chooses an alley, he circles them for a few seconds as he channels his ability. The player has the power to move at any time to cancel this binding. When Susumu does bind to another player, he takes their shadow and they will no longer have it for the remainder of the game. Susumu cannot regenerate energy when he is not within 800 units of this ally.
Note: Keep in mind he retains his stats while in this form, but can't attack or be attack. However, he does not gain experience in this form. Once he uses Master Bind on an ally, Formless follower is replaced with Peace of Night
Passive - Peace Of Night
Susumu focuses, closing his eyes and making his sight range zero. If Susumu remains completely still in any unseen area for 8 seconds his health regeneration becomes multiplied by two. If Susumu moves or performs an ability, this regeneration is lost and must wait another 5 seconds. In addition to health regen, his next basic attack has five times attack range...but he requires vision from another source to target his enemy. The attack from long range also does bonus magic damage based on 50% of his ability power.
Note: Not only will this ability help play safe when things get rough, but it also acts as a poking tool if your teammate knows how to supply vision. Wards, spells that grant vision or ally presence will all help Susumu get that extended range auto attack with bonus damage. This can also be used to essentially scout bushes, as the timer won't begin a countdown if a bush is warded. This way, if Susumu is support, he can use sweeping lense to remove the ward. If used properly, he can even tell if enemies are in a bush without getting too close...he is a ninja after all.
Q - Black Spot Cost: 15/20/25/30/35 energy Cooldown: 10/8.5/7/5.5/3 seconds Can stack up to three times, each additional stack takes four seconds longer than initial stack. Using a stack still requires the energy.
Active: Susumu quickly throws down a small bit of himself, which instantly expands into a decently (roughly 400 units) sized shadow spot. This acts as an artificial bush. It has a cast range of up to 550 units, but travels quickly. The shadow lasts for 4 seconds before disappearing. It's size increases from 405/410/415/420/425 units each level. Additionally, it adds the mark of darkness on an enemy until they leave it. The ally who is master bound, if in a Black Spot, gets a passive to mark enemies with darkness using their basic attack.
Passive: Enemies marked with darkness will give 4/6/8/10/12 energy each time Susumu hits them...
Notes: This is his main ability and chains well together with everything he gets down the road. It also forces ranged enemy champions to keep moving while ally ranged champions get free time to take other actions. Also take note that he will not get energy back from just using his basic attack, as the enemy must be marked with darkness for him to be able to get the energy upon basic attack. Keep in mind this attack deals no damage.
W - Blades of Darkness Cost: 90/95/100/105/110 Cooldown: 14/13/12/11/10
Passive: The blades of darkness seek the mark of darkness, get it? If Susumu clicks on a target with the mark of darkness his basic attack does base attack damage plus 10/20/30/40/50 (+50% AP) in magic damage. If Susumu manages to hit the same target nine times within the same mark of darkness timer, the enemy player is marked for an additional four seconds. If a target is not marked with darkness, Susumu will attack with his hands and not the blades of darkness.
Active: Susumu uses a great shadow form illusion to make an ally untargetable. If an ally is marked with darkness, the become hard to see for two seconds upon ability cast. unless it is an ability. The time an ally is untargetable goes from 2/2.1/2.2/2.3/2.4.
Note: Aside from being a good way to attack enemy laners without going into passive mode and helping teamates avoid ranged basic attacks...it also helps Susumu be untouchable. Also note he is always marked with darkness, so he can use the active on this ability to max himself immune to ranged attack. Remember: this will not avoid spells that are not targeted.
E - Shade Slash Cost: 60/65/70/75/80 Cooldown: 20/19/18/17/16
When Cast on enemy: Susumu teleport behind an enemy that is marked with darkness and hitting them hard on the back of the head with powerful elbow strike. This causes them to be stunned for 0.8/1/1.2/1.4/1.6 seconds.
When Cast on Black Spot (Q): Cost is halved and ability does not go on cooldown. If Susumu is already inside of a Black Spot, Susumu instantly dashes between the Black Spots. Any enemy caught between is hit by a basic attack that and is marked with darkness. The Black Spot Susumu dashed from, lasts three seconds longer.
NOTE: Can't be used on targets that aren't marked for darkness. Susumu cannot dash to Black spots if he is not inside a Black Spot already. Also keep in mind he will be using 15/20/25/30/35 energy per Black Spot used....so at max level he would only have 105 remaining energy if he used three Black Spots, so he can only dash between them five times. If he only used two he could squeeze in another dash. But also remember that he is untargetable when inside a Black Spot, so he isn't easy to hit unless a properly aimed skillshot is fired in the riot Black Spot.
Also, Susumu is not restricted to dash to a set point within the target Black Spot, so he can better aim his slashes. Imagine how cool it would be to tap E while moving your cursor between two points you set and seeing your champ dash between them, slashing the enemy each time he does....tooo cool. Not to mention that, upon hitting multiple targets initially, you will mark them all with darkness and gain energy back each time you Shade Slash. As a final side note, from a developer point of view, the Shade Slash has infinite stacks of usage when dashing between Black Spots...but will cost energy to cast still. The intial Shade Slash will not apply Blade of Darkness bonus damage.
R- Close Companion
Cost: 260/250/240 Cooldown: 200/190/180 seconds
When casted on ally: Susumu quickly teleports to the ally who owns the shadow he has binded with at the start of the game, from anywhere on the map within a few seconds. There is little channel time, however, the ultimate does not do anything beside bring Susumu by his ally's side. Although, it does mark his companion for darkness, but he must wait until some energy returns before shielding them with his E.
Notes: The teleport has no warning on it for enemy players, but doesn't shield the target or offer Susumu with any advantages. It's simply like having an instant teleport that can only travel to one ally. Keep in mind this ability can be used to split push and avoid fighting, as Susumu can't get more energy without an ally. Also, having face of the mountain helps make an ally being targeted less likely to be killed until you have enough energy to use another ability. Lastly, take note about how insane some of his spell costs are, this is to reduce his immediate effectiveness upon using his ultimate.
Quotes - When moving: "hm..." "Mmhmm.." "Very well..." "Yes..." "I'll follow..."
Joke - Susumu folds his arms and stands tall, taking one arm out to move around as he says:
"Why did the Frog Leap into the road?...the poor creature's mind must be consumed by dark thoughts and desires..." "Why does the tooth fairy take teeth from children? Maybe her son used to hide teeth under his pillow...until he died of illness..." "Why Am I not funny...actually...I don't really mind...comedy is simply a means of creating a better reality..I deny such a world exists..." "Why the wolf hunt in packs? The reason is so obvious, I'm not even going to explain..."
Laugh- Susumu puts his hands by his sides and makes a very fake sounding laugh, as if it were forced.
Taunt - Susumu puffs up his chest and says:
"I accept your challenge." "You can't break the untouchable." "I will fight you, with no need for honor."
Recommended items-
: It's a shield that grants health to an ally, which you are required to be near as Susumu, based on max health. Additionally, it helps cover up moments of low energy Susumu might face. It is also the only support item that doesn't require Susumu to build useless mana regeneration. Also, he can use Black Spots (Q) to move in close to a minion before executing it, protecting himself from enemy attacks.
: The ability power and magic on hit works well with Susumu's W (while cast on self) and his W passive (when an enemy is marked with darkness) to do some awesome magic per hit. This combination can be furthered by
, but only if defense is not a priority the next item. The cooldown will help give Susumu more choices when using his abilities. That being said, if someone would prefer the magic resist and cost wits end has, then they could substitute wits end with nashors tooth, sacrificing damage for defense. Also the attack speed helps regain energy on marked enemies, while increasing the mark length if there is enough attack speed.
: 20% extra life regeneration when in passive mode, plus the health and magic resist bonuses. Not to mention the cooldown couldn't hurt. Combined with face of the mountain, health regen in passive mode can be pretty good.
Synergy:
: Considering how powerful these two are combined, it would be hard to say they are not long lost brothers. While Shen can shield the ally Susumu is bound to, then teleport later, Susumu can insantly join the fight. This will turn 1 v ? into a 3 v ? in a matter of seconds. So enemies must consider this tremendous threat. These two offer a super power teamwork that can change the way the enemy looks at the match specifically...meaning even more strategy will actually be required in a real time strategy.
: As if her ultimate of rolling around and turning invisible wasn't enough. now she get instant cover from enemy vision by hiding in one of Susumu's dark spots. Imagine Susumu placing down three black spots rapidily in a good spot nearby and Vayve goes invisible, going into one of them. Where is she? That's the question. Alongside that, Susamu can make Vayne untargetabble, meaning AOE and missiles from enemy casters is the only way to damage her. I guess she really is like boxing with shadows...as long as a walking shadow in his dead father's armor is by her side.
: Susumu's black spots make this little kitty hard to detect and prevent from leaping everywhere. If a team was coordinated enough, Susumu could essentially create lillpads for rengar to hop like a frog at different targets. Alongside that, whenever Rengar is to hop out of a Black Spot, he marks the target with darkness. So, Susumu can use his E to dash and stun the target. However, only a brave duo que could try to do a duo bot with Susumu and Rengar...unless they've had tons of practice and are highly coordinated... and hopefully have teamates that won't dub them as trolls and report them.
Note: Why not use all three of these strong ally's at the same time? Vayne ADC, Shen top and Rengar jungle? Seems like a fun thing to do with friends.
Skin Ideas:
Surgical Assistant Susumu -
Because all the ninjas need their own Dr. McNinja themed skin. Unlike others, Susumu is still a shadow, so he is a shadow in the form of a human dressed as a surgeons assistant. The blades are darkness are now scalpels and when his passive regeneration mode adhesive medical strips magically come from below him and apply themselves...they will not add onto his clothing, but he may have intial medical strips here and there. Lastly, there is a huge bandage around Susumu's stomach, where
stabbed him in his sleep.
All criticism is accepted, so go nuts. What do you think about Susumu?
