[Summoner Spell Idea] Mirage

320 Second Cooldown [BUFFED COOLDOWN]

  • Mirage is a targeted ability that can only be used on ally champions or the caster themselves. The ability summons an illusive image of their champion that walks in the direction that the user clicks on while holding down the casting button. The mirage last 7 [NERFED DURATION] seconds and the cooldown starts when it dies or the duration is over.

Why?

  • Mirage can be a skill used in all lanes. The general purpose is in order to bait an enemy champion whether by them following the Mirage into a bush where your teammates are lying in wait, or to have enemy champions blow their ultimate, summoner spells, and etc. for this Mirage.

  • The summoning of the clone is not automatic and has an animation delay and cannot be destroyed so is granted anti-minion collision and no form of interaction with skillshots/projectiles. Only targeted abilities.

  • After a great deal of nerfing this concept, I have reduced the ability and perhaps even refined it into a mechanic which works to bait or provide temporary vision.

Details

  • The Mirage explodes upon death granting true vision of all enemies and only enemies caught in it's 550 explosion radius for 10 seconds. Cannot grant vision of the area of detonation.[EDITED out DAMAGE]

  • The farther away the clone the slower it moves. The clone also cannot grant vision while it travels other than itself.

It would be overpowered. Even without the true sight it would be too strong. The true damage by itself may not be much, but the ability to make an on-demand clone will be too much.

It won't be possible in League.

LOL! I don't see how it's that overpowered. It last a mere [now 7] seconds, and has more than a 5 minute cooldown, but I have edited the ability. If the skill to make a clone is OP.. Then why have Shaco, Azir, or Leblanc? Hehe

Just because it doesn't do TONS OF DAMAGE doesn't mean the ability itself is suddenly balanced. The amount of utility a free body holds in League is insane.

Just because you believe that blocking skillshots/free face-checking/free on-demand LeBlanc passive isn't op doesn't suddenly mean you're right. It just means you don't know how to use the concept you even created.

Hm.. You do realize that flash is actually overpowered with that type of logic being implied. To be able to move over a wall instantly. To be able to avoid a projectile instantly. A free on-demand Leblanc distortion, Yasuo dash, Nidalee jump, Shaco Q, Azir dashing to a solider (and even Q'ing the soldier to expand his dash.)

I think you're simply overestimating this spell. However, I will not argue, but to balance out the ability even further make it so it doesn't grant vision of the surrounding area while traveling but only after detonation. The further away the clone goes the slower it moves as well. Also, this isn't an on-demand Leblanc passive since her cooldown on that passive is way shorter. Also, the clone now cannot absorb projectiles.

Of course flash is overpowered. It's why it's the go-to summoner for 90% of the roster.

The presence of one overpowered thing doesn't automatically make a different overpowered thing suddenly disappear. If you want to make it "balanced", make it so projectiles aren't blocked by the ability, but have the clone still able to be targeted by spells.

Enemies who target your clones have the CDs of the abilities they used reduced to 5. Essentially refreshing it but still wasting the mana and giving a tiny breathing period for the caster.

Also, increasing the CD of something to off-set it's strength is stupid. Just look at GA: People usually buy it but then sell it once the passive pops.

Well GG :D

Besides, all hypothetical. This isn't actually gonna be taken in by Riot.

Thankfully. As a whole, most concepts on this board would pretty much ruin the game. It's fun to create things though.
