Introduction Hello everyone, back at it again with another concept! This time, I decided to do a kit that is a bit on the simpler side off of a simple idea I had; Snow Knight. While not quite a knight, I feel pretty happy with this concept. Frejlord is definitely a cool region to write lore from and I enjoyed making this lore a lot. Please let me know any comments and/or questions you may have!

Best regards and happy reading! :D

Kit Health: 563-2279 Health Regen: 10-23.2 Mana: 290-920 Mana Regen: 8-17.9 AD: 64-152 Attack Speed: 0.625 (+ 0 – 27.5%) Attack Range: 175 Armor: 39-106 MR: 32-53.4 Movement Speed: 340

Passive - Elegy of Snow Ryfade generates a shield of snow that blocks 50-275 (+15% Bonus HP) (Based on level) incoming damage from enemy champions and large/epic monsters. Upon damaging an enemy champion for the first time, the shield detonates after a brief to deal the remaining shield x2 as physical damage in an area around him (range: 250) that slows enemies by 25/35/45/55% for 1 second.

(10 second cooldown)

Q - Avalanche Smite Ryfade brings his war hammer, heavily covered in snow, down with extreme force in a target direction (brief delay) (range: 350) (width radius 100), dealing 50/95/140/185/230 (+65% AD) physical damage to enemies hit.

For each continuous use in combat, this ability costs 25% more mana, but the range and width radius of the ability increase by 50 (max mana cost and growth after 3 uses). Once out of combat, this refreshes back to original mana cost and range.

Each enemy champion hit by Avalanche Smite reduces the cooldown of Elegy of the Snow by 1 second. Cooldown: 5 seconds Mana Cost: 40

W - Paladin’s Warfront Ryfade performs a sweep (radius: 400) after a brief delay, starting behind him to deal 55/85/115/145/175 (+55% AD) physical damage, and shoves all enemy units behind him in front of him (their position and direction facing remain the same). Cooldown: 15/14.5/14/13.5/13 seconds Mana Cost: 55

E - Fissure Upheaval Ryfade stabs and upheaves the earth with the sharp-end of his war hammer, knocking enemies up for 0.75 seconds and dealing 60/90/120/150/180 (+60% AD) (range: 400) (cone angle: 50).

Ryfade’s next auto attack is empowered for 3 seconds and has increased range where he throws the earth he picked up (empowered auto attack range: 500). His next auto attack does 70/85/100/115/130 (+70% Bonus AD) bonus physical damage in a small area (radius: 150) around the enemy and slows by 30/35/40/45/50% for 1 second.

Cooldown: 20/19/18/17/16 seconds Mana Cost: 60

R - Glacier’s Rampage Ryfade releases a war cry and charges in a target direction (range: 800) (radius: 650), dragging all enemies with him till the end of the charge and forming an impassable glacial wall for enemies behind him (radius: 650)

If Ryfade collides with a wall, the charge ends early and all enemies in the charge take 125/250/375 (+80% AD) damage, but no glacial wall forms behind him. Cooldown: 130/120/110 seconds Mana Cost: 100

Lore Feet clad in steel shift in the Freljordian snow, the weight of Ryfade sinking his feet to the ground as he stares at the enemies in front of him. Glory, conquest, the joy of blood… they’re all feelings that he used to experience in moments like these, but now he just feels cold -- so very cold. His heart is a heavy stone in his chest, the familiar warmth of his twin brother gone.

Ryfade and Ferade were brothers born in a cabin home to hungry warriors that were eager for battle, despite their dwindling tribe. Their teachings of battle that they did not spare their sons from. Ryfade’s childhood was filled with clashing swords and broken bones as he spared with his brother under their parents teachings, but in time it became obvious that Ryfade was superior to Ferade in the art of battle. Rather, Ferade’s interests were kept elsewhere… in the harshness of the land and the contradictory gentleness it seemed to hold. While Ryfade furthered his training, Ferade began to study… study the environment, the wind, the sky, and even the snow… anything he could get his hands on. He wanted to understand the world around him -- a concept that went against his parents teachings.

It seemed that the stronger Ryfade got, the harsher the parents became. Their frustrations became more apparent at his twin and they took it out on him, making him more rigorous -- trudging through the snow, striking a tree until it broke with a simple hammer without any breaks. His parents introduced him to a weapon -- a war hammer and had him train with that against his brother who had started skipping training to go into the wilderness.

Ryfade was raised to be destructive, and spared his own twin no mercy in the fight -- striking down heavily on the other’s shield with the intent to kill, pushing his brother further and further back as the parents watched. With a swift move, Ryfade kicked his brother in the stomach, sending him sprawling onto his back as Ryfade pulled his hammer back… before getting sent flying by a sudden blast of snow. In his study of the land, Ferade had developed a new talent… a talent of magic that let him control snow. A new emotion coursed through Ryfade, not one of flashing anger and erupting blood-lust, but a dark and twisted emotion as he saw the parents look at Ferade with new eyes… an emotion of envy twisted its way into his heart.

Ryfade and Ferade were trained together under the parents, their entire focus shifting to training them to be stronger -- as strong as possible, all the while the tribe continued to dwindle further and further from the winters… until the brothers were left with nothing to do with their strength with no tribe to protect. Their parents were lost to the unforgiving winter, but their emotions were just numb as they left the remains -- never looking back.

With their strength, the brothers worked together to survive the Freljord cold as they traveled the land -- developing a sense of undying trust for each other in the battle, with Ryfade standing in front to protect Ferade in the back. They fought bandits, beasts, monsters, and anything that attacked them, until they came upon the Winter’s Claw. A place where their strength was recognized, they thought they finally found a new home for them to flourish -- their parents teachings engraved in them that let them slip in easy with the war-linked aspect of the tribe.

The brothers grew even stronger in the Winter’s Claw, the new life suited for them. Ryfade continued to improve as a warrior, but he felt the tribe’s real focus was on Ferade… his simple control of snow had gone far. Once again, Ryfade felt envy twist in his heart at the sight. No matter how hard Ryfade trained, now matter how much blood he spilled it wasn’t enough. He felt trapped in a tomb of inferiority and weakness as he swore he could hear his brother laughing and taunting… his strength could not compare to the magic his brother held. Just like his parents, the tribe was accepting Ferade as the superior one even though he was on the front-lines… he was the one clashing with the enemies as Ferade sat behind him, using his tricks of snow.

As Ryfade trained harder and harder, Ferade studied more and more -- to learn more about his magic and the best ways to use it. The rush of the battlefield allowed his magic to blossom and explode with new power -- the thankless bloodlust his parents gave to him giving new strength to his magic. Thanks to that bloodlust, however, he was able to stay with his twin… they had survived through the land together for so long, growing closer until he felt as if there was nothing between them but trust -- a bond that meant everything to him.

The next battle, the twisted emotions seized control of Ryfade by curling up to his heart… taking control of his body. In the heat of the battle, he wanted just once for Ferade to clash with the enemy -- to experience what he went through. Ryfade wanted the tribe to watch as they saw how useless Ferade was without him. As he clashed an enemy’s blade with the staff of his war hammer… he let them slip past to charge at his brother. He kept his eyes on the moment, his mind already imagining the looks of the Winter’s Claw when they saw how powerful he was… how much stronger he was compared to his brother.

Ferade kept his focus on Ryfade, his eyes unflinching as he met Ryfade’s gaze… and Ryfade swore he saw something there -- fear? The fear that Ferade had when Ryfade was beating him in training as a kid was there, and he could not help himself to grin as his body surged with heat… but to feel a blast of cold rush past his body as Ferade made no move to block the enemies blade from slashing through his chest. In an instant, all the heat left Ryfade’s body and he felt cold… as cold as a corpse as he saw his brother begin to fall. Without even thinking, a wrathful cry rose from his throat as he charged, his armor-clad feet breaking through the snow as cold tears ran down his face. He raised his war hammer and crushed the skull of the enemy that was bringing his sword down on Ferade’s heavily-bleeding body

Ferade’s body was cold to the touch when Ryfrade cradled him in his arms. His thoughts were a frenzy as his brother’s breath got slower and slower… the warmth slowly leaving his body. Ryfade was panting and sobbing, barely able to get any words out… only able to repeat apologies over and over -- again and again. Without giving a single answer to his apology, Ferade only lifted his arm weakly and moved his hand to Ryfade’s shoulder… bringing it up with a muster of strength to blast an enemy that was aiming to strike Ryfade down with his back-turned on the battlefield. His last strength gone, Ferade collapsed with his hand laying on his brother’s shoulder… and Ryfade felt something around him. He felt snow drift around him and in him he felt a new power… a power that reminded him of his brother.

Ryfade let his tears fall freely as he faced the oncoming enemy. No longer would he let his heart or body be controlled by any twisting emotions -- instead, he would work for a single purpose. He let out a battle-cry as he charged forward, his war hammer in his hand and snow drifting after him as he faced the enemies head-on. Behind him, the archers were at work, firing at the enemy from their position behind him. He would continue to grow stronger and stronger -- powerful enough to rise through the ranks of the Winter’s Claw. He would be the front-line to charge the enemies, with his army behind him while he took the first clash. No enemies would get past him ever again.

Appearance Ryfade is somewhere around his late 20s, with stubble and rough-ish looking black hair that ends in a small braid. His armor is simple half-plate armor, with arctic animal fur and leather filling the gaps (in particular, an arctic wolf fur hangs around his neck as a scarf). His armor and war hammer also appear to be well-used, with a few dents here and there on the armor. His war hammer is crude and simple, but has a large and heavy looking head. Snow gently floats around him as he moves.

Ending Thoughts Thanks for reading Ryfade! Overall, I would say that I'm quite happy with the way that he has turned out and it was really fun to make his lore. I tried to do a good job of making sure that Ferade seemed to be like an actual character without stealing too much of the spotlight from the main focus of the lore, Ryfade. It was something I struggled with in my previous champion concepts lore-wise, but I feel like I did a good job this time around. Special thanks to everyone in the C&C discord community that helped review my concept! The community is an extremely useful place to gather feedback on concepts to strive for self-improvement (also a place to hang-out in).

Hey, I remember talking over this guy with you :)

I still think he's a pretty solid "If you try to get through me, I will beat your face in" kinda living wall. A bit of a more interesting take on a Warden type of champion. Nicely done!

Hi, some feedback from me, a noob :)

I like how the abilities of Ryfade combine with each other. A W-E-Q combo seems like a powerful way of wiping out weakened enemies or initiating a fight - if timed well Also the passive fits right there.

Tho I worry about the ult, it might be a bit too powerful. Perhaps reduce the radius or turn the impassable wall into one that can be passed, but causes a slowdown? Im also missing some information: How long does the wall persist? Can it be destroyed? Another thing I am not sure of is the AD bonus, it seems a bit high to me. But then again, I rarely play fighters or AD heavy champs in general, so please correct me if Im wrong.

But lets get back to the positive things: Thanks for taking the time to write a comprehensive Lore. Its a really well executed and moving story of brothers that I enjoyed reading.
