Potential Malzahar Rework Concept (Voidling Rework)

Hi Riot, I'm a Malzahar main, and when I heard you guys were planning on reworking him, I thought I'd go ahead and put my two cents in as to what you might want to do with him. I've always considered Malzahar's kit to be a well designed wombo combo that's only as strong as the player who wields it, but the one thing I don't think anyone's really paid much attention to is the passive that summons the cute little alien spawn; the Voidling. So here's my idea, why not slightly weaken Malzahar's entire kit and in exchange rework/buff Malzahar's passive to summon not one Voidling, but one of FOUR different kinds of Voidlings based on the spell Malzahar casts to summon it? For instance, if the fourth spell Malzahar casts is his W, he would summon a Voidling that Slows enemies with each attack, meaning if the Malzahar player can coordinate his W with the summoned Voidling properly, he can force the enemy champion to take more damage from the W as the Voidling's slow will force them to take a longer time to move out of the W. The new Voidlings could also mimic the last ability Malzahar casts as well, like if the last spell Malzahar casts is his E, maybe he could summon a Voidling that deals Burn Damage with each basic attack, or maybe the Q Voidling could have a (minor) chance to silence enemies with its basic attacks. Obviously the R voidling would have to be the most powerful of the bunch, so why not make its basic attack scale off of Malzahar's AP instead of his AD, or maybe have attack speed that scales off of Malzahars AP, since the ultimate is dedicated to killing someone as fast as possible. And each Voidling Malzahar summons could also look different from the others (maybe different colors, extra legs, spines, etc.,) but I feel this would just add on to making him that much more of an unique Champion to play. All in all, I feel if you guys want to make Malzahar more of a unique champion on the rift, I'd leave his kit alone and take a look at his little friends from the beyond. Take a look at the Voidlings.

This is actually one of the better ideas I've heard for a Malz rework. There are a ton of ideas you could play with for this idea, meaning you could have a lot of fun gameplay wise, but it would also work pretty well lorewise. With Malz trying to bring the Void to Runeterra, bringing as many different creepy critters as he can makes sense.

This is a really cool idea, kind of sona like. What I want to add is that we should never forget ad malzahar. I have played a ton of AD malzahar and with thunderlords and the high dmg output of every champion in the current meta the voidlings and malzahar don't last long enough to do anything meaningful. AD malzahar requires a bit more setup and a more close range playstyle to be effective. What I would like to see is a two sided part to his abilities in that they also have the potential of buffing the minion or providing some survivability to malz.

Looking specifically at the minions I think ad malzahar would be more possible if the minions scaled with malzahar's health as well. as AD malz it is often good to be building health items in order to force an opponent to stay near you (minions won't be kited as easily) and near the minion spawn location (quicker dps delivery). There is a major disconnect currently between malz and his minions which is more bug-like than an exception. For example his minions will apply the effects of black cleaver but not death's dance. there description is identical but unlike red pot which does return health to malz death's dance does not. The same concept is also true for hextech gunblade in that the minions are not counted as "all damage" and do not return health to malzahar.

All I'm really saying is don't kill AD malzahar with the rework, if anything make him more viable.
