Is Maokai face change intentional? and why?
New Maokai face is totally different 
this was evil face and the new Maokai is a very different expression almost looks high .
so why was this?

That and his classic skin? Kinda laughable. He looks like a regular Treant. Not corrupted or anything. Highly disappointing. Gonna miss old
The new Maokai looks much less evil because he isn't evil. He represents the good that existed in the forests of the Shadow Isles before they were corrupted. Basically, he is all that is good in nature.
