Hello! I'm Eilia. [November 2014 MCCC]

OOC (all things in quoteblocks are OOC): This entire entry is done in the character of Eilia. Why? Because I can. I also wove any gameplay tips and tricks directly into the tooltips as Eilia is narrating over her own kit, so it makes sense for her to talk about things she's capable of doing when she's talking about her abilities. If a comment is [bracketed], that means that it, too, is OOC-- but for some reason needed to be in that same line or paragraph. Anything in (parens) is Eilia adding as a tangent.

#I am Eilia, the Fervid Blade!

(Though, I suppose that the Exclaion is actually the blade and I am the one that is fervorous.)

Not any more shall I wander this deserted plain, this flatland that comprises Fyrone. But why? For there is no need to wander the place with nothing.

Perhaps it is because of a legend that I stayed.

A legend of a wandering swordmaster, who also wields a saber.

Somebody so fast and furious that the wind flows with their attacks, somebody so inspired that they seem unbestable.

Though the more I wander, the more I get frustrated in the inability to find even one opponent that can stand a chance against my introductory slashes!

Perhaps they long since left the desert.

I suppose it is time to do the same.

But that, though my reason, does not make for a good tale. Instead, I suppose I must tell what I have heard of this swordmaster...

"With the grace of the heavens, each stroke moved the wind. Not a soft breeze, no, more like a piece of a storm had come and slashed through us. But the wind was nothing to the arcs of energy pulsing forward, ribbing off of the tip of that master's saber, challenging us," was how he described it. I didn't think too much of it then. "The most incredible thing happened after they sheathed the saber-- two slashes emerged from nowhere, striking places in and near the sand-- spots that we had--not even half a second earlier--been in. Most of us were maimed from that stroke-- it was as though a sword had slashed at us, but the sword had emerged in random places in the air."

With, sadly, nobody recalling what they were wearing, likely due to the incredible speed with which they were defeated, I had nothing to go off of!

I just wandered that place with nothing but rocks and monsters for company. Each monster I slew, the more lost I felt.

It wasn't until I encountered a group of warriors and bested them all at once that I realized that the legend that I had stayed in Fyrone to search for had likely been me all along!

I felt quite silly at that moment. But really, if I hadn't come back to Fyrone to show to my mother what I had learned, what I had done, while I was gone, I would feel incomplete.

There is no feeling quite like rubbing in your parents' face that you accomplished something they said you wouldn't.

But when I was leaving the flats, I was shocked to see somebody I knew--

The chronomancer. Zilean; from Kalamanda(?).

He looked solemn, and told me of what had happened.

We were, as fringe territories, almost all that remained of Runeterra. Many things that should have been true had been turned on their head, and falsified.

He told me that to prevent that from happening, a great wind of changes would have to come forward.

The first of which was perpetuating my existence by travelling back into the past and becoming the swordswoman that led me to become a swordswoman, the woman who wielded wind alongside a blade's edge and won her battles with minimal effort.

That was easy enough. I already had studied about their tactics when they regaled to our home the tales of... me.

The next step was to affiliate with a more well-known city-state-- I chose to go with Demacia, though I somewhat regretted my decision later upon learning how incredibly strict their doctrine had become.

Lastly, it was to join the Champions, some of whom I had read as folk tales, and rally for the list of causes that Zilean gave to me, assuring me that the effects of such things would avert catastrophies.

So here I am. And here you are, here are all of them.

So who wants to watch me, the self-inspired, the wielder of such zeal?!

#Innate Passive(s): Flow Mastery / Desert Wings

  • Flow Mastery: My sword, the Exclaion, stores any wind * Current * that passes it, building it up over time and whenever I attack! The rate at which it builds improves based on my Movement Speed; each second I generate 1 Current for every 85 Movement Speed I have. Each attack builds four Current. Upon reaching 100 Current,* I sheathe the Exclaion to better control the wind it's built up, entering a stance called* Battojutsu.* I like to brag a lot about my power-- so if I take all that time while standing still just taunting my opponents, my confidence skyrockets and I immediately enter that stance. Though I spend a lot of time doing so.* [Eilia passively builds current at about 1/2 the rate Yasuo builds Flow from his movement. Eilia's Taunt animations are long--10 seconds seems reasonable.]

  • Desert Wings: My first attack against an enemy every 10 seconds [The timer is kept on the target], the Exclaion steals their flow, allowing me to dash towards them-- through them if I'm close enough-- though I only get to move for 2/3rds of my Movement Speed. This attack also deals bonus True Damage equal to 3% of my target's Current Health.

#Ability One: Exclaion Wave / Ethereal Slash

  • Exclaion Wave: I slash with the Exclaion in the direction of your choosing, launching a wave of blue energy suffused with wind by draining 15 Current from the Exclaion, which travels up to 500 units [A bit longer than Yasuo's Steel Tempest, it's also a bit thicker-- remember this is a projectile attack]. It deals around 20 / 40 / 65 / 95 / 130 (+80% My Total Attack Damage) Physical Damage to enemies it hits, but each time the damage is reduced by 15%, down to a minimum of 25% of the original damage. Enemies hit are also slowed by 10/12.5/15/17.5/20% for 1 second, which lets me run away from or catch up to them! I can use this move once every 7 seconds.

  • Battojutsu: Ethereal Slash: If I unleash Exclaion Wave from the Battojutsu stance, the wind current travels for a longer distance [~750 units, a bit less than Orianna's Command: Attack] and doesn't deal less damage to enemies hit later. The slow duration is increased to 2.5 seconds-- and the enemies hit are burned, taking 40 / 60 / 85 / 115 / 150 (+40% My Total Attack Damage) (+80% My Ability Power) Magic Damage over that time! Really, this is just like caramel on an apple, as I can get some damage on opponents from afar as well as have a much easier time catching up to them-- or, embarass them by slaying them with a brute-force warrior's pitiful magic. Though that one probably won't happen at all, seeing as saving Ethereal Slash is also going to deny me the chance to use the rest of my abilities. I can't use Exclaion Wave all the time-- so I can't unleash Ethereal Slash if I recently used Exclaion Wave.

#Ability Two: Cross Slash / Storm Slash

  • Cross Slash: By draining 20 Current from the Exclaion, I can strike in an X pattern with approximately 400-unit long slashes in front of me [Think Lucian's Ardent Blaze, rotated 45 degrees, and melee], dealing 60/90/125/160/200 (+100% My Ability Power) Magic Damage to all enemies hit by the slashes. They are also marked for 5 seconds-- damaging a marked opponent allows the Exclaion to enter an overdrive state, granting me 10/12.5/15/17.5/20% Movement Speed and 15/18.75/22.5/26.25/30% Attack Speed for 2 seconds. I can use this move every 11/10.5/10/9.5/9 seconds, and it is extremely useful for creating some space as well as preventing the enemy from making space.

  • Battojutsu: Storm Slash: Storm Slash launches an X shape of wind in a 1000-unit line [Like Yasuo's 3rd Q in both range and speed], knocking up enemies hit for up to 1 second based on how close they are to me, down to a minimum of 0.4 seconds at the tip of the gust. They're also slowed down by 60%, but the slow decays over 1.5 seconds and begins when the wind strikes them (as opposed to when they hit the ground). This makes it useful for saving allies even while I'm away from them by interrupting the enemies. In addition, the Exclaion can lock onto enemies hit by this wave, allowing me to dash to them while the slow is in effect if the enemy I want to go to is within 100 (+My Movement Speed) range of me, which makes this extremely useful for running away from enemies--or getting in close against my opponents to save a friend. The Exclaion also builds 5 Current for every minion, 10 for every monster, and 15 for every Champion that I knock up with this slash, which allows me to use it to cycle out of Battojutsu stance and then quickly get back into it, should I want to save the effect for another time. I can use Storm Slash even if I recently used Cross Slash.

#Ability Three: Displaced Earth / Plane Distortion

  • Displaced Earth: I can run so fast that I almost instantly dash to the target location within 400 range, as if the earth itself had been shrunken for a moment, which leaves a blur of me behind. Within the next 1.5 seconds, I can dash again by draining 20 Current from the Exclaion-- regardless of if I do that or not, I'll create a small vacuum that stuns enemies within about 200 range of me for half a second, and this effect also deals 30/50/75/105/140 (+75% My Total Attack Damage) Physical Damage to any unfortunate opponents. This is how I get places and to my opponents! It's extremely useful for getting places-- But I can't go over walls with this ability. I can use this every 16/15.5/14.5/14 seconds, starting from the first dash.

  • Battojutsu: Plane Distortion: If I try to perform the second dash while I'm in Battojutsu stance, I actually teleport to the desired location and everything around me is slashed, dealing an increased 45/70/112.5/157.5/210 (+135% My Total Attack Damage) Physical Damage to enemies within ~200 range. This I can use to go through walls, thankfully.

#Ultimate Ability: Tiger Stroke / Dream Slash

  • Tiger Stroke: It's too difficult to get this right-- so I'll only be able to use this ability if I've attacked an enemy in the last 2.5 seconds and that enemy is within 200 (+2/3 My Movement Speed) range so that the Exclaion can help me. With this, I can leap to and impale that enemy, dealing 40/65/90 (+125% My Total AD) [+0.67% per % of enemy's Missing Health] Physical Damage* and knocking the enemy back a little. The Exclaion can continue chaining this attack as long as I keep killing enemies with it [Cooldown resets if used to kill a unit]-- otherwise it can't be used for 6 seconds. I can't use Tiger Stroke immediately after doing a normal attack, but if I'm told to use it I'll do it the moment I can assuming the target hasn't left my range.

  • Battojutsu: Dream Slash: *If I'm in my Battojutsu stance, on the other hand, I can do a sliding dash to cover approximately 300 units worth of distance [a bit more than Riven's Valor], then summon a wind current to knock up all enemies within about 300 units for a bit over one second while drawing the Exclaion and striking from multiple dimensions to deal an incredible 100/175/250 (+250% Bonus AD) (+100% AP) Physical Damage to all enemies caught. When the enemies land, they're all bunched up-- perfect for letting some allies follow it up, or for letting Displaced Earth hit all of the enemies and then using Cross Slash! However, I can't use Dream Slash often at all-- I not only have to be in the Battojutsu stance, but I can only manage this move every 90 seconds. Thankfully, I can use Tiger Stroke after or before it, just not from the Battojutsu stance.

[Challenge Fulfillment: Fyrone Flats] My Desert Wings grant me mobility based on targets available. Not the most impressive of movements by itself, but it's very accessible! I can continue moving while still attacking with some moves, and because of that and all of my slipperiness, I definitely qualify for having an impressive repitoire of mobility options-- unfortunately also limited by my opponent's prescence.

[Challenge Fulfillment:] My Tiger Stroke deals increased damage based on the enemy's Missing Health, which is a trick I was given a lot of help with from the Demacian training I had to go through. Before, it wasn't nearly as powerful, so I am quite indebited to that training regimen.

[Lore: MacGyver]

I've often been stuck with no obvious way out-- but keeping my wits about me allows me to get out of many bad situations. One of the worst ones I've been stuck with was back when I first got the Exclaion, actually. I hadn't learned how to use it, so when I tried I managed to get myself completely out of position. Fortunately, with the help of my tactician back then, I was able to take advantage of the Desert Wings I had been granted and fly through the ranks of my opponents. The Exclaion had built up a lot of Current-- though at the time I didn't know why-- and allowed me to teleport away from my opponents. In the time I had to recuperate, I figured out how to empower it, though not what those empowerments actually did-- I attempted to use my own attack to drive enemies near me back, only to be shown a powerful series of attacks faster than I could possibly have done.

#[Gameplay things]

If you're going to try and be my tactician, you'll need to pay really close attention to my Current! I'm able, certainly, to continue replenishing it quickly by standing still if nobody bothers me; but that's really not how I want to fight! While it's something I learned to do so that I can stay safe, it's not only really boring but also prevents me from being particularly effective; so I don't think I could manage by staying in that mindset for a really long time. Sooner or later I'll absolutely need to just get in the fight and bash heads, even if I won't win-- I have to try and I may or may not succeed.

But I also know that I have limits. I'm not very good when it comes to being forced out of my zone, so I'd need somebody to help make sure that if I'm unable to get in my zone they can push me back into it, exerting force on a foe. I depend on being up close.

#[The rest of this post is OOC.]

Eilia needs to get Health, Armor, and Magic Resistance. However, she also wants to get a hearty amount of Attack Damage, preferably with some Cooldown Reduction. She loves Movement Speed as well.

I recommend Mercury's Treads for boots since Eilia has a hard time getting into fights-- CC would displace her and give her trouble again. Offensive Items include: Ravenous Hydra, Last Whisper, Youmuu's Ghostblade, The Bloodthirster, Trinity Force, Zephyr*. Defensive Items include: Frozen Mallet, Randuin's Omen, Locket of the Iron Solari, Banshee's Veil, Righteous Glory (despite the mana). *: If you go for Zephyr, don't go for Mercury's Treads. Tenacity doesn't stack from items.

Eilia is vulnerable to anybody that outranges her, e.g. most mages. She's got plenty of strength, however some of it is locked behind her Battojutsu-- due to this and a number of other reasons I envision her wanting to take a solo not-mid lane most often, since she also really wants to get a number of levels.

I wanted to do it in-character just for a taste of what it'd be like, alright? Nothing more, nothing less. If I had more time/forethought, I probably would have made a secondary account for the explicit purpose of posting this. Because it'd be fun, right? And show my dedication to the craft... or at least whom it is. But whatever-- This has been my entry.

Just a side note. Your IC ability descriptions made my job 10x harder because I had to find and decode simple things like ranges and cooldowns and search for them just to figure out things that other concepts have written clearly and easily. When I have to judge a good number of entries in a short amount of time, this isn’t appreciated. If you wanted to do this you could have included a cheat sheet at the end to make my job easier. Not thrilled.

Faction Challenge: Passed

Innate: 1.5/2 Functional if a little weak. 3% current health every 10 seconds is a tad weak. The other part of your passive is more of just a resource description so I feel like this could be stronger. But maybe the empowered spells make up for that.

Q 3/4 Line skillshot and slightly longer line skillshot nuke. The only thing that worries me is having this kind of ranged harass (the empowered nuke is pretty potent) on a champion that already has huge mobility

W 2/4 Again decent range harass normally with long range big AoE nuke. Really worrying with all of the mobility offered that she also gets these huge nukes that she can fire off at a good or even long distance. AoE description is kind of iffy as it seems like the empowered versions are basically jut buffed versions with some extra damage/range and a different visual effect, but the Storm Slash is unclear whether this is a huge X in front of you like the Cross Slash, or if the X is purely visual and the actual AoE is just a pure linear pass through skillshot. If it is then you basically just made Yasuo’s Q3. If not then it actually might be reasonable because aiming it would be extremely hard making the scaling almost OK, but the user friendliness much lower.

E 2/4 So you describe this as an “almost instant dash”. Would this be coded as a dash or a blink? Because Shunpo is arguably just Katarina moving almost instantly instead of actually teleporting. This is hugely important and again your choice to write the descriptions like this is making the distinction cloudy. I had to read into the next ability to get the feeling that it was a dash instead of a blink. Be clear. Also the vacuum stun mechanic is interesting but again unclear because of how it’s stated. Does it happen on all dashes? Or does it happen only on the second dash? Or does it happen 1.5 seconds after the first dash?

R 2/4 What does +.67% per % of missing enemy health mean? +.67% damage? +.67% of AD? +.67% of enemy health? “A bit over 1 second” is completely unclear on Dream Slash’s knockup especially when you take into account this is supposed to be IC speech so “a bit” could mean anything from 1.01 to 1.99 seconds depending on how literal/reliable the narrator is. This decision for IC descriptions (especially this execution of this decision) is really taking away from the clarity of the design.

As far as the ability goes, it’s basically Irelia’s Q. While Dream Slash is basically Yasuo’s R combined with Orianna’s R pull in with massive ratios.

Kit as a whole 3/5 This kit would function better as a mobile AP bruiser than its seeming intended role of AD fighter. You’ve given her 2.8 AP ratios (granted only 2.0 can be accessed as burst but many AP mids have 2.0 or less scalings) plus two ways to discharge that from a distance. Plus no mana issues, hybrid damage to help prevent defensive itemization, All of your AD scalings outside the 2nd ult are based on total AD instead of Bonus AD meaning you would still get decent scaling without buying any or few AD items. and the fact that AP items offer much more defense and utility than AD items. The kit as a whole worries me because of the chain cc that she can access pretty easily through batto W -> dash -> AA/Q -> batto R -> E, throwing in attacks wherever possible. Grabbing Zhonya’s, Lichbane, and Nashor’s would be all the damage and CDR she would need to fight and higher AP builds could be devastating plus good sustained damage and the zhonyas active. Rod/Rylais would be kosher.

I’m not sure having a hyper mobile fighter with multiple gap closers as well as 2 long range nukes that are only gated by cooldowns (imposed naturally and with Flow) is very healthy though.

Secret Challenge: 2/2 Demacia: passed

Creativity 10/15 As much as I want to give this a higher score (as much as it failed, the IC descriptions could have worked) because some aspects were interesting, like the stun dash and the Cross Slash, there were just too many spells that seemed very much like existing spells. R, Batto R, Q, and Batto W all read a lot like already existing spells. Her playstyle seems like it would be very similar to Yasuo’s as well.

Kit Cohesion 10/10 The kit works well together, so minimal complaints here. Some spells could use some rescaling, but there’s clear decision making and chaining available.

Total 35.5/50
