Kalista's Black Spear -still- can't be rejected and -still- has allowed kills to happen

due to using it in-lane (for whatever reason).

It is rare that a Kalista player uses it on the wrong person, but the fact that it can't be rejected when the text of the item says "if they accept".

Let me reiterate:

The tooltip says "if they accept".

There is no way to say no.

I'd like, to, y'know, deny it if I know it is a bad choice strategically.

It technically can be rejected. This is accomplished by walking away a certain distance.

. . . Which isn't possible before the spawn gate goes down.

Riot said they removed the ability to refuse because during testing tons of people refused, leaving Kalista without an ult.

You'd think a better fix would be "remove the fucking ult" but no.

I don't like that she can soulbound me against my will. Riot, what kind of message are you trying to send?!?!?!!?

You could reject on PBE, but nobody ever accepted for obvious reasons.

So instead of reworking this dumb as fuck mechanic in order to make it actually fun for everyone, they made it so you cant refuse.

I don't care about not being allowed to reject it, I care about the fact that it has an utterly unnecessary animation that allows Kalista to disable an ally champion for several seconds, when it could just as easily be a simple button like the surrender box that says "Accept? Deny?" and then just have it happen. If it didn't have the ally disable on it, then I could care less about Kalista forcing me to be her soul bound, but when she can both force me into it and forcing me into it disables my champion for no reason whatsoever, I hate it.

Once I had a game where our Karma was ward scouting the enemy gromp for a potential invade and we found Kalista Leona and their junger (forget which champ it was) sitting at gromp. I was playing jungle Darius and Kalista made the mistake of making the pact at the gromp. The moment we saw Leona's death animation start, we immediately ambushed them and they were for the most part helpless (and scared as hell as I would imagine). Unfortunately we could not get first blood, but we got all 3 of them to critical health so they were forced to return to base, and their botlane used up all of their summoner spells escaping while I was able to take their blue, so I count It as a successful invade.

I think another bug should be pointed out that anyone can interact with Black Spear and it will cause them to perform their ultimate animation. I've actually scared off opponents on Cassiopeia once. Tehee. :)

(Although after reading that thread where the guy who used the stop-moving bug on Sion's ultimate, I feel like I shouldn't be abusing the Kalista bug in-case I get permabanned...)

One time a drunk Kalista speared me in our jungle during an invade.

I got out with half my health and a laughter.

She was terrible, the game was terrible, but we all found a drunk Kalista to be hilarious (and she was in good humor too).

But in other context, it's infuriating. I dodge some team builder games if a Kalista comes in and I'm supporting. I... just don't like her kit, as a support player.

Shouldn't it, like, be the victim's choice to willingly impale themselves on Kalista's spear? By clicking on it themselves?

They should just get rid of it because it's such a troll report option since it does nothing. Although it is funny when toxic players threaten to report you for it.

Good idea for cases where they pick they wrong person on accident and have that second layer of accident protection.

You should be able to reject it. One time, my team tried to invade and then she used the spear on me in the enemy jungle. Then my team all dove way too hard while I was way behind them and we ended up all dying. And we killed none of them. And then my team gave up and we kinda did nothing until we could just surrender. Entire game lost and a waste of time just because of Kalista's spear that I couldn't reject.

I dont get the issue. I mean, I get the ultimate, but last time I checked the person dragged in controls where they are launched.

Trap Clap3/23/2015, 11:59:30 AM1 votes

Last time I checked (could have been a while ago), and this doesn't solve the problem of the stun, but I think Kalista can buy more black spears from the shop, in-case the does bind the wrong person. This removes the previous soulbind, but doesn't stop the issue of stunning someone during an invade.
