Champion Concept Please Consider
Aro'den The Chosen of the Void
Lore: Aro'den is one of the leaders of the Void, unique because of the Void giving birth to a humanoid for the first time. The only way to distinguish him between a regular human is the third eye he wears as a tattoo. He was born with this; the other void spawn saw it as his divine right to rule, as it has powerful magical properties. He seeks to find ascension for the entire Void, granting them and unstoppable force. All the Void spawn see this as a chance to gain power, all but Vel'koz. Vel'koz believes that ascension will corrupt the Void, saying that powers from Runeterra should not be brought into the void. While all the other Void members see this as more power, and want it, Vel'koz is smart enough to know that it will have repercussions on the Void as a whole. Ignoring Vel'koz's pleas, he used Rek'sai as a scout to find where exactly he could seek ascension. The beast pointed towards Shurima, the lost desert empire. But, after Azir was resurrected, he was no longer the only one seeking ascension. His goal is now even harder because Azir has an entire resurrected empire at his command, while Aro'den's empire is in the Void. Because of his goal of seeking ascension, he is naturally be enemies with: Azir, Xerath, Nasus, and Renekton, the followers of Shurima. He would be a friend with every Void member but Vel'koz.
Passive: Eye of Vision, Aro'den's circle of vision is increased by 20% Secondary Passive: Eye of Knowledge, after using an ability, Aro'den gains a buff corresponding to the ability that he uses. The ability ends once another ability is used (unless stated otherwise)
Q: Eye of Destruction (Red), Aro'den fires energy from his eye blasting an area, anyone hit by the explosion receives instant damage as well as a burning effect that deals 20% of Aro'den's AP as magic damage over five seconds. (AOE skill shot, about the range and width of Corki's Q) Buff: Basic attacks deal an additional 10% of your AP as magic damage.
W: Eye of Focus (Blue), Aro'den prevents his target from focusing, silencing the target for two seconds and slowing the target by 70% for two seconds. (Single target line skill shot, can hit minions and monsters as well, same width as LeBlanc E) Buff: +10 mana regeneration per five seconds.
E: Eye of Deception (Silver/Grey), Aro'den selects a location via skillshot, he then turns into a silver sphere, and three other decoy silver spheres also appear (All debuffs and buffs become invisible during the duration of his travel). The three spheres travel At an angle that creates an equilateral triangle. Once you reach your selected destination the decoy spheres disappear and you turn back into normal.) (Note that if a player uses an ability (non summoner spell/active item ability) on the player (not the decoy spheres) then the player will stop and turn back into normal immediately. (If a player uses an ability on a decoy the decoy will disappear.) (Line skill shot, range of blitzcrank Q) Buff: Aro'den cannot be critically struck. ("Dodges critical strikes") but will still take regular damage instead of critical strikes.
R: Eye of Ascension* (Purple, like the Void), Aro'den summons three eyes in an equilateral triangle, they fire lasers towards each other connecting them. At the same time the eyes fire lasers towards the center of the triangle dealing damage each second that someone is touching a laser, also touching one of the perimeter lasers will snare you for one second. During this entire time Aro'den is channeling, Aro'den gains a shield for 500 HP and becomes immune to disables. The only way to interrupt his channel is to break Aro'den's barrier. Consumes 20 Mana per second increasing by 10 every second. Reactivate ability to end. (Barrier is removed once ultimate is ended) channeling this ability also reveals him. (Width of Fiddlesticks Ultimate.) (The triangle might rotate if it's too easy to dodge?) Buff: +25% Armor and Magic Resistance (buff is lost after barrier is broken)
Early Game: Aro'den is an AP scaling mid laner who excels in the late game, but struggles in the early and mid game. His main goal early game is to farm using the buff from Eye of Destruction, and when low on mana using the buff from Eye of Focus.
Mid Game: During the mid game, Eye of Ascension can easy for most champions to avoid, as many people can just stay in the safe areas of it. Like early game your main goal should be to farm into the late game.
Late Game: This is the fun part. Aro'den can annihilate in teamfights, the space between the lasers in Eye of Ascension are too small for the entire enemy team to fit into, and since the ultimate itself has sizeable range, it can be cast on the entire team without fear of someone trying to engage of you.
Synergies:
Braum: The goal in the late game if you have an Aro'den on your team is to protect him; you want him to complete his full channeling as it comes out to be an instant teamfight win. Braum is one of the best people for that job, as unbreakable can safely block damage that would otherwise be thrown at Aro'den. Not to mention that Braum's ultimate, Glacier Fissure synergizes great with Aro'den's ultimate, Eye of Ascension.
Leona: The perfect engage, when Aro'den uses Eye of Ascension combined with Leona's Solar Flare the result almost immediately becomes an ace.
Amumu: Like Leona, getting a good Curse of the Sad Mummy combined with Eye of Ascension will devastate any teamfight, almost always resulting in a teamfight win for that team.
Counters:
Rengar: The fact that the only way to interrupt Aro'den is to get in enough damage means that Rengar will be able to assassinate him at any point in the game. If Aro'den starts channeling Eye of Ascension then Rengar can use Thrill of the Hunt and burst down Aro'den's 500 HP shield. And while Aro'den can use Eye of Deception, he would first have to stop channeling his ultimate, thus helping his team tremendously.
Veigar: The fact that Aro'den is weak early game means that Veigar gets free farm and stacking the entire game. On top of that when Aro'den starts channeling Eye of Ascension all Veigar has to do is use his ultimate, Primordial Burst, shredding the barrier and canceling Aro'den's ult.
Vayne: True damage is not Aro'den's friend when it comes to his ultimate, Eye of Ascension. The buff from Eye of Ascension, while still helping, does not help at all against true damage. Vayne will be able to destroy his barrier in three simple shots of her silver bolts.
Art Concept: I thought that Aro'den would be one of the leaders of the Void. I also thought that he should look more like a human. He would still be born in the void, but maybe he managed to contain his Void self to only his mind. I also thought that the only thing different from a human about him other then being from the Void is that he has a third eye. The eye would look a lot like a tattoo, almost like the Frostguard symbol in the Frelijord. I thought that he would be able to levitate off the ground like many of the void creatures. This would represent his power is not solely limited to his eye, and that he still has regular power from the void. I was thinking that his eye would glow different colors depending on what buff he has active. For instance, if he uses Eye of Destruction, then his eye would glow red until he uses another ability. I also thought that his animation when he channels Eye of Ascension would be something like Soraka's recall animation. He would levitate higher up in the air then normal, his eye would also glow purple and maybe three purple streaks of energy (sort of like Kallista's soulbound) would go from his third eye to the three summoned eyes. The bonds would stay there "powering the summoned eyes" for the duration of his channel. Also note that the colors by the names of the abilities are the color that his eye would turn after using the ability.
Notes: Please consider this Riot, I've spent a lot of time and effort making this concept, having said that I am completely open to suggestions, and if you decide to change the champion in any way, I will still endorse the idea, just mention me in the reveal (Sqkerg). The main thing that I am worried about is that he might not have enough of a presence without his ultimate, I might want to make more offensive spells, like make Eye of Focus an AOE effect instead of a single target skillshot.
I got the inspiration for Eye of Ascension from one of the scrapped ideas of Azir's ultimate from the Azir Q&A
Tell me what you think below, I am always open to any ideas anyone has to offer. (The name is kind of lame I know :c)
