Gender - Male Race - Mutated Human Age: Unknown to him Birthplace - Bilgewater Residence - Ocean Weapons: Bamboo Fishing Rod + Hook. Deals mid-range damage. Primary Role: Jungler Secondary Role: Top Lane Fighter

Lore: In the city of Bilgewater you can always find work in one way or another. While most might prefer joining the crews of pirates or perhaps gambling their lives away, there are few who'd prefer honest labor. At the Grey Harbor is where the vast fishing vessels once would dock to trade and sell after many days out to sea. Though none can be found there to this day, not since the Harrowing . While the common man would avoid these docks for eternity the noble and stubborn Ceely refuses to abide such advise. The old man has sailed out to sea on his own every day and always manages to return with fish for all. Despite his old age Ceely is not to be underestimated. Years of fighting the storm's of the sea and the great beasts beneath the ocean has made him strong, resilient, and ever so patient. It was his latest sail that the fisherman was knocked from his ship and plummeted into the ocean depths. He sank slowly into the darkness for what seemed like an eternity. As the last of his breath faded Ceely was eaten by a demon of the sea, but this was not the end. Inside the stomach of the monster the man regained his composure. The only air was that of rotten carcasses and the only food source was the fish picked from between the beast's teeth. Over time his body grew deformed and mutated to survive his condition, but in such time he also discovered the means to control the beast and become a cursed sailor of the deep. With decades of experience Ceely has mastered the ways of catching exactly what he wants and using whatever it takes to assist him in that task.

Updated Item Set:

item 1412 Skirmisher's Sabre + Warrior Echantment. As a fisherman you are all about chasing down what you want. This item gives true damage, vision, and cooldown to help you stay ahead of the game. (Pun not intended.) item 3078 Trinity Force gives you a little bit of everything you'll need. Plus Rage gives you some extra speed about a wave clear and Spellblade is fantastic for speeding up your farming. or alternatively go with item 3071 Black Cleaver is good for chipping away at the other team. TF or BC is up to you and your play-style. item 3194 Adaptive Helm VS. item 3065 Spirit Visage While both items are virtually the same there is one difference. Spirit is better against AD while Helm is great against AP spammers. Choose one that fits accordingly against your foes. item 3006 Berserker's Greaves is suggested for the attack speed and movement speed.

Other options are: item 3153 BORK Is good if you wish to focus more on your basic attacks. item 3508 Essence Reaver Increased crit, cooldown reduction, and possible mana regen. item 3812 Death's Dance Cooldown reduction and healing. item 3142 Ghostblade provides speed and lethality. item 3074 Ravenous Hydra Health Regen, Lifesteal, Crescent for farming or for enemies that get too close.

Allies: Illaoi Nami

Enemies: Fizz Gangplank

Playing the Fisherman.

Activate Q to dash forward and get into range. Then toss your E in front of them, if landed correctly they will be dragged back to you where you can pop your W and inflict massive damage with your Basic Attacks, preferably into the river where you'll gain enough speed to outmaneuver them. If they put up too much of a fight summon Lagiacrus to assist and gain a kill.

Ceely primarily focuses his entire early game on gaining CS and Chum for later on. Once he gets at a high enough level he will speed his way through the lanes to provide ganks, whether by pulling an opponent out of their comfort zone or chasing them down with his slows and reach.

His ultimate summons the creature that ate him all those years ago. Once he was dinner and now he rules the ocean deep. Bringing out Lagiacrus is best reserved for team-fights in lane, where he provides a trail to activate Sea Legs and give Ceely a nice speed boost. If Lagiacrus is slain he'll return to the sea, but not before applying a slow to any that are nearby him. This is a creature that strikes fear into the hearts of men.

By casting your E you can pull a fleeing ADC or an assassin low on health straight towards you. The hook doesn't last long, but Ceely makes up for it by being able to flip those caught over walls. A smart idea is to cast it directly in front of the fleeing enemy so that they can't react in time and be dragged away from safety. This works best for mid ganks as he can catch them off guard on one of two sides.

If you choose to instead play him top then stay back and farm safely. Use your Q to clear waves as quickly as possible. Once you have advantage lash out at the enemy top by using W and E to keep them in one spot.

Once at full build and level 18 Ceely is one of the ideal champs to lead the charge down lane or to Baron. His range and speed combined with his climbing health make him a threat to behold.

Your Razorfin's lack critical thinking and so will only attack whomever you focus with your basic attacks. Even if you stop chasing they will continue on their hunt until slain or given a new target. Use your hook to pull your enemies into the fish for a quick devouring.

Extra Information: Fisherman is originally based on Black Market Brawlers and the book "The Old Man and the Sea. He is named after Captain Ahab Ceely, who is known for his long pursuit of the white whale, Moby Dick.

Very interesting concept! I personally think the kit doesn't match the thematics, and they should be independent, but that's just me!

Let's take a look, shall we?

His lore is very basic. That's not bad, though! It's not extraordinary, but it gets the point across. I don't see why he's fighting on the rift, perhaps to claim the Tidal Trickster, as the one thing he couldn't catch?

His passive is very interesting, and literally makes this concept, well, this concept! I don't think we've ever seen a pet of this level before, which is somewhat of a risky endeavor. If done right, it could be amazing, and make him very feared, or adored. Either or. It really prioritizes farming, which is good! We need some more farm oriented, in my opinion. This is so unique, and interesting, because it's CHUM! Nobody would think of it :D

The AD on his Q seems a tad much, being at 100%. It's a very nice ability though, and I like it. Perhaps lower it to 70% or even 85% if you want. Heck, you could probably push it to 90% if you make drawbacks elsewhere.

His W is very basic, but that's good. I do have a question though, if he's an ADC, which is what I think he is, then the W's passive makes you wanna be in the river a lot, which to me, denotes a jungler, especially since it's movement speed AND attack speed. I also think, it'd be neater if there was a third mechanic to it, perhaps he knocks them back, up, sideways, or even flings them behind him.

His E is very neat. It's different from Blitzcrank, yet similar, and I love that! I can't think of anything else to say.

His R seems.. Underwhelming. Shouldn't he summon Brawlers automatically if he buys 'em? It has wasted potential, unless he summons a lot, and it has a low cooldown, since these just seem like fancier minions. Perhaps, summon a King Brawler, or something along those lines?

Hiya! I'd like to give you a solid review, focusing primarily on the kit. And by the way, I love BMB!

So first of all I wanna say that Ceely incorporates some real cool mechanics but there needs to be more focus. In addition his numbers are pretty dang low for a bruiser.

Starting with the passive, I think you could have some power shifted here. The ultimate has a mega ton of stuff going on but here, the passive just seems like another area to put some of his ultimate's wordy description. Similarly to Karma's passive, which plenty of people are upset about, Ceely's passive should be apart of his ultimate but its not.

Also, I would consider increasing how many stacks he can get over time or in general.

*Q- Spear Gun: Ceely trades his fishing rod for a spear gun for a single shot. Deals 15 / 25/ 45 / 75 / 115 (+ 85% AD). Range is 1000.

Okay so its basically a really long auto attack that is going to do shitty damage late game because of its 85% AD scaling. Honestly this ability could be improved. I like the idea of this spell in theory but it falls flat. It cannot be played around, it isn't really fun to use, and it isn't interesting. And for such a reliable ability, it has some crazy range! In Spear Gun's current state it would have to feel weak. Its so reliable and has such high range that in order for it to feel any fair it would have to do pitiful damage. Which it does.

Generally speaking, when regarding power budget an ability or kit should have highs and lows. If you have an ability like Spear Gun, your going to have a bland middle ground where the ability can't fail or succeed. Ceely's Q is always going to be as effective. It never can fail and it never can be super satisfying or used to its fullest extent. Thus its trapped in a weak, binary state.

Definitely change this ability's function. You can keep the spear gun, but give it room to do well and to do bad rather then always doing meh.

*W- Sea Legs:

  1. Passive: While in the river Ceely's Movement and Attack speed increase by 20% (+2.77% per level.)
  2. Active: The fisherman dashes forward (400 units) and strikes target in line with his fishing rod, dealing 20/25/35/50/70 (+13.5% AD). Attack range is 350.

Okay so you tied some of his power into jungle objectives which is kind of interesting. I don't like the active that much though. Its a simple dash>line attack. For a dude who summons a massive sea serpent, you'd think he would be able to do a little more then just dashing and strike.

Also the damage on this skill is really low. Definitely bring it up.

*E- Hook Toss: Ceely tosses his fishing hook to target location. When an enemy champion, minion, or creature steps on hook the target will be flung towards Ceely. Hook only lasts 5 seconds, but can be tossed over walls. Enemies caught will be flung into the air to Ceely. Range is 1200.

This is a cool zoning ability. Its actually really thematic for a fisherman. My biggest suggestion would be to further drive your point that this is a guy who fishes sea monsters. He's no ordinary fisher. Otherwise this ability is solid.

This ability is also real fitting for a jungler. Unfortunately, the ability does literally no damage on a bruiser who has no sustain, durability, or damage built into his kit.

*R- King Beneath the Sea: Ceely uses 500 of his Chum Pieces to summon the mighty Lagiacrus to target location. If activated in river the wait time for summon is halved. (Stats below.)

While in shop Fisherman can spend Chum on Brawlers and upgrades. Each purchase and upgrade costs 100 Chum. Brawler's spawn with allied minions during each wave, replacing some.

Calling a massive sea serpent for an ultimate is really cool! I wish you pushed how bad ass Ceely could be more. His ult is basically just a super duper mega minion with no interesting perks except a cool model. Honestly I would keep this core idea but try to make the ability much more then "click R for an on demand siege assistant".

Another problem with this ultimate is that it forces you to make an unfun decision that doesn't add any depth. Either the Brawlers or the Lagiacrus will be better than the other. The only benefit that Lagiacrus will have is that you can summon it outside of being in the shop. Otherwise one of them will not be worth the Chum compared to the other.

Honestly as cool as this ultimate is, there is too much. Your trying to incorporate a new currency, half of a gamemode, AND the Lagiacrus summon all in one ability. You need to sit down and decide whats more important and what should be kept. Because currently there isn't enough focus Ceely as a champion.

As much as I want BMB back, trying to shoehorn the gamemode into this character is just going to degrade and harm the final product.

Anyways Ceely is a really cool character! Sorry if I was too harsh or didn't make that clear. I also do think you could incorperate the BMB gamemode into a character, but it would need some simplification and more of the kit would need to be focused on the Brawlers.

I hope I helped, and please reply if you have any thoughts or questions.

Those are some really long cooldowns

BorderlineBlack10/21/2017, 12:54:23 PM2 votes

Yardnoc: I think that what you have done is a great concept and the mix in of minion change with your Brawlers concept is great and is completely viable, as it really mixes in with the Turrent siege feel. The items like item 3060 and item 3056

Notes on abilities:

Q - Olaf as Olaf has his axe and when he throws it he can pick it up it reduced cooldown, could this also work with you idea W - Love this ability flexible as an escape ability and as an engage ability as both a Laner and Jungler E - Remember how comments were made on your e being purely cc based why not mix it with your w so that if u land and hit with your w if you use your e after that ability it causes small damage and bleed effect (like when a fish gets pulled in but jumps off the hook, it still gets damaged or bleeds a bit) R- you original idea with your ult was brilliant like how it would summon a seige monster for chum that still sounds super viable to me rather than just a summon like Yorick Annie Ivern
you idea was so original and split pushing is crucial in game play OWN THAT SHIT ITS GREAT

The other day another comment said "Honestly as cool as this ultimate is, there is too much. Your trying to incorporate a new currency, half of a gamemode, AND the Lagiacrus summon all in one ability. You need to sit down and decide whats more important and what should be kept. Because currently there isn't enough focus Ceely as a champion." - ARAKADIA

Gangplank had new currency : Yorick has minions which he spawns upon skill minions Lagiacrus summon though it is not normally done is a great extension of tower pushers offensively use like ornn could make it even more powerful maybe some effects of something could be used to buff himin team fights maybe he has a to types of form for your ult like one could be an offensive ult or could be defensive or seige based.

Your original ideas sound much better than the ones suggested try to stay with your ideas and own them because it sound much better than what people have been suggesting because they all sound like other champs honestly.

With your lore and Thematics, it doesn't have to match his kit, because I'm pretty sure proxy singed is not apart of his "thematics"

P.S can i see like a Friends and Foes section like:

Gangplank: foe - pirate often terrorist local fisherman like ceely Fizz: foe - often cause great annoyance when fishing (kind of demon fish, damn demon fish) Nami : friend once saved and healed ceelys wounds on a huge typhoon like that but want to here what extensions you have one it

SHARD ALPHA10/20/2017, 6:16:22 AM2 votes

love the art on display but a small critique for this champ is that he seems a bit out of place with no magic or weapons to stand against enemies, an old man with a spear however skilled would have a hard time against demons, draconic gods and robots to name a few. perhaps an etherial ghostly approach the man who died before his hunt was complete going on in undeath, a fantasy take on ahab not necessarily evil or even cold just a determined man who'll avoid the lamb and the wolf till he's made his final catch.

yardnoc11/12/2017, 6:33:02 PM1 votes

Might rework this after the CCOS. Base it off of original Jinx design, which was basically a ranged Udyr. Fishing hook, net, spear gun, gaff. idk what new passive would be.

yardnoc11/26/2017, 10:33:43 PM1 votes

Well while thinking about it I came up with a few new ideas. First off, remove all mana and mana costs. Second, when killing a champion gain Chum equal to their level x 3/4/5 (haven't decided yet.) Third, summoning Razorfins and Lagiacrus will instead use Chum for summon costs. Fourth, leveling up your W or R will cost Chum pieces. Fifth, remove upgrades to summons and instead have them just appear as you level up. Since, upgrades are removed they'll be replaced with the Pet just being super strong and just costing more and more Chum after each summon. IDK the specifics, but I'll come to some conclusion.

I can just imagine some guy running around the rift with a fishing rod trying to hook people lmaoooo

yardnoc10/21/2017, 4:33:53 PM1 votes

At current state his basic combo would be: Activate W to dash forward and get into range. Follow with Q to deal heavy damage and slow the target. Then toss your E in front of them, if landed correctly they will be dragged back to you where you can inflict massive damage with your AA, preferably into the river where you'll gain enough speed to out maneuver them. If they put up too much of a fight summon Lagiacrus to assist and gain a kill.

yardnoc10/21/2017, 9:03:04 PM1 votes

Well I did ask for jg item ideas from CCOS and got nothing but long-winded rants that could have been easily been summarized.

  1. Brawler's. A fair criticism and one I expected. In short the complaint was that they were too powerful. This was compensated by limiting Creely to a single type and having a high cost, but apparently that isn't enough. Only recommendation was to scrap the whole concept and have each ability spawn a Brawler. Not only is this wasting what I already have, but I already considered this when I was at the drawing board. It didn't work and made almost no sense. Also they don't join the minions, but rather replace them through out the game. What I might do is nerf their stats a bit to make them more balanced. Or perhaps switch out the Q for a brawler spawn nearby, I'll decide on this later.
  2. Sea Legs is useless. Not only is this incorrect but it is in fact very important. Most teamfights take place in the jungle and not in lane. It gives movement and attack speed for advantage. Even without fights the movement speed allows Creely to travel quickly through lanes.
yardnoc10/27/2017, 4:53:21 AM1 votes

Might make some adjustments.

  1. Spear Gun, same effect and damage but just use the fishing rod. No need for a secondary weapon.
  2. Combine Sea Legs active and Spear Gun. Dash+ strike in line with the end causing a slow.
  3. Switch out an ability for Brawler summon (Probably just a single razorfin). Brawler will have similar stats to a minion and follow Ceely around. Summon will cost Chum, of course.
  4. Hook toss instead is attached to minion (or pet or brawler) and is hidden. If enemy attacks said minion they are hooked and tossed to Ceely.
  5. Leveling up will extend length of Hook Toss.

I'll think it through.
