DANCING CHAMPION

League is incredibly diverse. We have a champion for every single person, no matter how you identify. Ruffian? Ekko. Underdog? Rumble. Crazy Terrorist? Jinx Alpha Dog who takes control? Darius. Showoff? Draven Efficiently cold killer? Rengar. Optimistic Genius? Jayce. Like getting high? Bard Love Astronomy? Settle for Soraka (still waiting for a Space WOW Champ but that'll be on another thread).

We're constantly adding in new champions for every single conceivable category you can think of, and I've very grateful to Riot for this gift of diversity. The only iffy part as of now is that our whole "Artist" section is being held entirely by Sona. Sona holds it down well though. Mechanically and Thematically she "speaks" for musicians. But Art is so much more than Music and I find it peculiar that Riot, a studio that has time and time again found new art forms to express the emotions they intend to be portrayed by this wonderful game here, has yet to release any Champion in the category of art since Sona.

The answer? A champion centered around drawing/painting, and a champion (the one I'll be focusing in on in this thread) who is centered around dancing.

TLDR: LEAGUE IS DIVERSE BUT AS FAR AS CHAMPS WHO ARE ARTISTS GO WE HAVE SONA. BAM! DANCING CHAMP IS NEEDED.

(I won't be displaying a kit or specific lore, just a lot of ideas that I personally think would go well as someone who has dance as a HUGE part of their life, and gaming as another almost as huge part.)

TWO PARTS

1: THEMATICALLY

-Gender wouldn't matter since both genders are very relevant in the dance community. Of course things like main genre would matter (genres like Ballet and Jazz are obviously more dominated by females, while genres like breaking and hip hop are slightly more dominated by males), the final gender of the Champion would be completely ok as either a boy or a girl since both are relevant in all styles. -The Champion would hopefully be from either the lower or middle class, since people who are in the upper class and "dance" tend to lack the blood, sweat, tears, and over all passion/need that those of us down here have. -The Champion would have to be from a City State that would allow room for the arts to exist (somewhere like the Freljord or the void wouldn't make much sense since they'd always be in imminent danger, and somewhere like Urtistan wouldn't make much sense since they're ALL DEAD) -The Champion would most likely be very happy, yet still a realist -The Champion would most likely dress very hipsterish/underground (as far as Runeterra is concerned that is) -The Champion's movements on the rift would be very smooth and fluid, even when slowed or casting -The Champion would love to eat (fact: all dancers love eating) -THE CHAMPION WOULD BE VERY GOOD LOOKIN (obviously very fit, etc.)

2: MECHANICALLY

-The Champions abilities could all forcibly go on cooldown for 1 second every 2 seconds, meaning every other second your abilites would be up, and every other second all your abilities would be unavailable. Like a metronome; up beats and down beats. Lets say the q is a quick spam ability (short cd, 4-6 seconds): The q (like all the other abilities) would go on cooldown for 1 second every other second, so you only have a second long window to use it before you have to wait another second for the cd cycle to go back around. And even if The Champion's w is on a longer cd (like 6-8 seconds) you would use it during the up beat window, then even if it'd come back up you'd have to wait for the up beat to come again to use any abilites. This would work amazingly both thematically and mechanically bc thematically you're a dancer so you have to hit your spells (dance moves) on the beat. Mechanically it'd prevent split second assassinating, spamming all abilities at once, face rolling the keyboard, and add another level of in depth gameplay that both sides would need to keep not of, and abuse. You could also afford to make his abilities stronger, sense they'd go on cooldown every down beat (every other second) so theres a bigger window for an enemy to react/keep in mind. -Champion might run off of a sort of Energy cost system, except whenever an ability's cost surpassed the amount of energy you have, it would just have a diminished effect (dashes would be shorter, damaging spells would do half the damage, cc would slow instead of stun or duration of cc would be cut in half, etc.) -(Keeping these two points in mind, The Champion's ult could even be something like this: The Champion ignores the beat, removing the cooldown metronome (on and off beats, every 2 seconds all abilities are on cooldown for 1 second.) All abilities are always up and have zero cost (allowing facerolling and constant spam). Or even this: The Champion dances to a faster song, making the cooldown metronome faster (every second all abilities are on cooldown for a 0.5 seconds (essentially double time)) and all abilities receive enhanced effects (double cc, double area on gap closer, double damage, etc.) Complicated stuff is over -The Champion could have a simple AOE move (like akali's) it could be one quick Flare ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPOxHVeTS4U ) or windmill or any other spinning bboy move, or like ballet pirouette or something of the sort. It could slow/knockup + deal a decent chunk of damage or either or. It could have helpful effects for teammates in the radius too (speed up, ehhh idkidk). -The Champion could have an ability called "FootWork" or "Fancy Feet". It could be a short gap closer or just a move that gave the champion a spell shield/dodge for x seconds -The Champion could do backflips and crazy gymnast stuff. -The Champion would be mobile, but not as crazy mobile as like a lee sin. -The Champion would work if AP or AD. In the event that they were AD: Bam hard work dedication, good room to auto attack in between spells on the down beats of the metronome. If the Champion was AP: Magic would be involved obviously, the champion would use magic by channeling it though their dance somehow. This would make great for a sheen/lich bane again, bc of the downbeats. -The champion would make a good assassin, or bruiser. Preferably not support, but I'd really just be happy if a Dancing Champion got in the game either way so it would be all the same to me. Top laner would make sense (melee, opportunistic kit, bruiser ish, mobile, etc.) -The Champion would make sense as a good peeling threat. Either you'll need to assign someone to peel them off, or you'll need to be conscious as an assassin if This Champion stays by their carries to peel. In the dance world, formations are everything to a competing team. TEAM. TEAMWORK. -mainly damage with a few knockups/slows not much hard cc beside KILLING.

TLDR: AUTO ATTACK/SPELL BALANCE, SEMI MOBILE, SOFT CC, DAMAGING BRUSIER/ASSASIN

I might edit some more in as the ideas continue to flow but for as of now this is what I got.

I really feel like the arts are under represented in League. I know obviously this is a combat centered game, but I think its great when you combine two passions, and I have a lot of respect for the creative ability that the employees of Riot have, and have no doubt that something like this could get off the ground amazingly in their hands.

LMK if anything was explained poorly so I can do my best to relay the ideas I have above to you!!! Thanks for reading, red or not :-)

Sincerely, Switch

P.S. to any reds, veryyyyyy happy about how ekko came out, thank you for him. hoping for a super cool space guy or gal with black holes and super novas soon!!! Like a post apocalyptic scientist/corrupted astronaut IDK MAYBE ANOTHER THREAD!!!
