My mace is hard.
Hm, so this sort of hints that he's going to lean more into a Shadow Isles visual appearance color scheme, with the Turquoise/Teal there. I actually like it. I remember when Twisted Treeline was NEW and not quite as much the ignored mode it is now, and I was playing it a lot. I'd always think "this is MY back yard" when playing Mordekaiser, but unless you knew his lore, his looks didn't hint he was from there.
I mean, I get it; his origins are more than a Shadow Isles being so some people didn't want to see him colored that way or become "just another generi-color champion; keep him unique", but that is precisely WHY he's so interesting to me. He's part of it, and YET has so much more along WITH it. Maybe it's just my preference, but I find that Shadow Isles appeal so good, and he'd be so much more metal rocking it. Besides, between Noxus and Shadow Isles, one is clearly lacking more, so better to reinforce his current place IMO. They could even always cover his lack of skins with something exploring who he was pre-current Noxus times too (think Pre-Void Kassadin).
Other thing we see is the missing third spike on his helmet, which was a bit iconic of a shape, but I like this one too. Really, really hard to judge too much off of an emote, and that more serious nature drawing is just menacing. Hopefully he still looks bulky and not too thin/trimmed down though; can't see much in the way of shoulder buff there.
Interested to see what happens to expand upon his lore, let alone his in-game champion model, splashes, and kit.
