Monica, Artist of Calamity

Relation: Sona's Sister possibly? A musician and an artist just seems right to me.

Place of Birth: Ionia? Maybe Zaun. I love Ionia as a nation, but I love the Mind of Jinx. Chaos and Calamity seems poetic too, maybe they are sisters? I'm no good at backstory.

Lore: A travelling artist compelled to recreate the world on her magical canvasses. Only trouble is, the paintings show the worst and not the best. Sometimes it predicts someones death.

----------------------------------------------------(leaving out art)-------------------------------- Roles: -Main-Tank/-Off-Support-

Playstyle: I'm looking more at a mass disruptor via displacement (ulti) and stat adjustments. Seeing as everyone already has infinite mobility or cc (or both, yasuo). The idea is to become THE Auramancer, kind of like Ares in Smite. Kind of. Also, the numbers below are theoretical of course. I use 700 for allies because that's the maximum adc range iirc. 500 is around the median, so I use that as for debilitating auras. She has to choose when to turn off her auras in order to influence a fight with skills.

Passive- Mosaic of Energy: For each Unique Aura Monica has, she adjusts the stats of enemies or allies. For each item aura (Frozen Heart, Locket of Iron Solari), her teammates within 700 range gain 15 armor and 15 magic resist. For each rank in her aura skills, enemies within 500 range lose 5 attack damage and 15 magic damage (higher on AP because it's easier to accumulate). All of her aura's extend to 700 range. Her aura buffs to allies also effect herself.

Q- Lack of Purple: Passive, grants an aura that increases magic resist of allies by 5/10/15/20/25. Active, for the next 3 seconds Monica takes 5/10/15/20/25% reduced magic damage. Also, she absorbs 3/6/9/12/15% of all damage inflicted to allies within 700 range instead of them. Passive disabled while on cooldown.

W- Danger of Yellows: Passive, grants an aura that increases allies movement speed by 1/2/3/4/5%. Active, reduces enemy outgoing damage by 5/10/15/20/25% within 500 range. Passive disabled while on cooldown.

E- Influence of Reds: Passive, grants an aura that increases armor of allies by 5/10/15/20/25. Active, for the next 3 seconds Monica takes 5/10/15/20/25% reduced magic damage. Also, she reflects 3/6/9/12/15% back to enemies within 500 range (after mitigations). Passive disabled while on cooldown.

R- Absence of Grays: Passive, grants an aura that increases allies damage by 1/3/5%. Active, Monica grants her entire team stealth for 2/4/6 seconds within 700 range. Stealth broken by dealing damage (maybe by taking as well if this proved to be overpowering). Upon exiting stealth, allies deal 10/20/30 true damage per attack for 1/2/3 seconds. Also, Monica restores health based on how much damage her team deals. Passive disabled while on cooldown (cooldown starts immediately after activation so that the true damage and percent damage increase don't stack).

Thoughts? I don't want this to be too strong, so I tried to put limits on it while making the auras have definitive trade-offs. =/ Is this a bad idea? Trying to make an aura based tank. Any suggestions perhaps? Oh and made because someone mentioned a contest. http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/skin-champion-concepts/xvq7Q2dE-competition-for-riot-points-create-a-champion I love contests.

Nice champ, I like the kit :) The only thing I'd have to say is maybe to change your % decreased magic damage from your active Q and W to be multiplicative (25% decreased magic damage + 25% decreased magic damage = ((AP*75%)*75%)). This is only because it was a major problem for my champ, and yours doesn't even look like it would be nearly as OP without this change as mine was, so don't even worry too much about it unless someone else agrees that it would be a good change. Again, nice champ, I can never get them this well-balanced on my first try. :) Also, good luck in the contest, feel free to check out my entry if you want, tell me what you think :)

personaly i think it is fine as she takes the damage for her team and is similar to alistar in the mitigation but for a shorter duration, the moment those abilities stop being in effect she coud die easily.

Can you give me stat ideas? I don't know how to set them correctly. And would I be right in placing her at mana instead of energy or cd? Still thinking how I want her to look art wise.

I only want to keep it additively because of trade-offs, but multiplicative-ly might be necessary. =/ Daunting.

Additively is actually fine for you now that I look at it. The reason mine needed multiplicatively is because the effects lasted a lot longer, making additively stacking more OP.

As for stats, just look up Sona's stats and maybe add/subtract a bit from the numbers you see, I just looked up Nasus and made some slight changes for mine.

Not sure what you mean by "placing her at mana instead of energy or cd" but she looks like a mana user, so gonna want to give her both mana costs for her spells and cool-downs (cd) since those are important to the abilities. I'd suggest making them similar to Sona's mana costs and cooldowns, maybe a bit higher since you've got just slightly more powerful abilities. (I keep referring to Sona simply because this is her sister)

Yeah. Wish Riot would legitimately check these forums every so often to see if there are any actually good ideas here and then if they like an idea they ask us to see if we're okay with them using our idea and maybe pay the creator for the idea with a one-of-a-kind summoner icon of the champ that shows that they created it.

Or a skin of their choice XD.

HI Evilrabbitt, I really like the artist part put not the gameplay part.

She looks very very passive with her auras. Kinda like Sona but with no real ways to directly or trap an enemy and no ways to save or free your allies.

Lack of damage is fine in a support but it needs to be compensated with some form of crowd control. Ares is fine because he is a natural front line fighter and is pretty active but your Monica will be used as a mobile armor dispenser it would suck for Monica players who won't feel like they are contributing to the plays.

Thank you. I just don't know how safe it is to give her cc with how much teamwise mitigation/reflection she grants. I was debating adding onto the passive: For each instance of damage (so she counters dot bursters), she gains 1 ranged attack stacking to 5 at a time. Ranged auto attacks will add a 10% slow (adding, so 10/20/30 in case she needs to peel). Slow caps at 30%.

Safe enough?

It could work. To be honest I don't know anything about balance. I can only give my opinion on characterization and gameplay.

Characterisation wise, I personally think that your idea for an aura master could work on a different champion. A war leader who inspires his comrades for example, it would make more sense.

For an artist champion which is the part that I really like, it would make more sense to have abilities related to art or painting. What if you gave her a giant brush? You could make her draw animals or dragons that would come to life and attack/ protect?

See? Told you it was fine without the change :) (says the guy who suggested it in the first place) Again, nice job
