Dear Players Who Make Champion Concept Pages',

I see your posts' on the Concepts & Creations board alllllllll the time; but I have no problem with it! Ok; well - I have a small problem with it. I'll explain.

One:

Don't half ass everything when you have only one good thing thought out.

If you only thought up of a really good lore / story; then just post the lore / story. When you add on abilities to your post, it is VERY obvious that you half-ass'd everything else.

Two:

Think about what is already in the game.

I also see TONS of concepts that are not very creative champion / theme wise. Here, I'll just give you a list of things that are already in the game and should be avoided when making a concept.

  • Any kind of Yordle, EVER.
  • Beefy Warriors.
  • People with Guns.

Three:

Have a goal when making a concept.

For example, Kindreds' goal was to make a working marksmen in the jungle. Whether the goal is to make a certain feeling when playing the champion come alive, or to make a certain mechanic in work; there needs to be one. Otherwise your concept looks like a sloppy mess put together by an edgy teenager who got bored from making OC sonic characters.

Sincerely, Joe

What exactly is the problem with making yordles? Should we not make any more human champions because the game has so many humans already?

There are only 11 yordles in League to date, and notably none of them are designed as junglers. (Poppy and apparently Rumble CAN jungle, but they're not designed for it in particular, and Riot apparently can't make up their minds on whether or not Amumu's actually a yordle.)

While I agree with most of this, I think that anyone should be allowed to share their concepts and ideas however they please on this board, whether they are fully laid out or not. Allow people to get feedback, and they'll come back better.

For example, this is a concept I posted in 2011: Zoom, the Hex-Tech Assassin, a really shitty concept that was not thought-through at all from my end.

And just recently, I renewed this concept and made it way, WAY better. Zone, the Opportunist

A little feedback can go a long way. c:

And also, I've seen plenty of concepts that fall under your "things to avoid" list, while they may be overdone, it doesn't mean that ALL Yordles are bad, or ALL gun users are bad. Some of the best concepts I've come across have been in fact Yordles.
