So I was in the shower and I thought. IN-GAME SOCIAL THINGY You pick your favorite champion and load in. Similar to Destiny social maps. Tower, Farm, Reef, etc. A place where you can just fuckin chill with randoms or friends. Little events happening here and there. 2 million HP Baron for everyone to beat up, scuttle racing, etc Fucking shops to try on or rent skins for your champion. (Lets be real riot nobody to gonna waste a skin shard by using the rent feature) Let's say it costs... 5k blue essence to rent a skin for 3 days yeah? That seems fair. Shops to buy actual skins with riot points as well. Able to change skins in-game to show off your collection and have dress up contests. D:< You spawn in at level 6, 11 or 18 whatever I just want to be able to use every ability. DO THIS RIOT AND THANK ME LATER.

Riot is so bad on the technical side, they'll never do something this "cost heavy" because they can't even manage or fix the massive hardware requirements their Client has.

As someone with really severe social anxiety problems so bad that even writing this is causing problems, I fully support this idea. Having a hub where people are hanging out and there's different buildings to go into for different things (champ skins shop, ward skins shop, scuttle crab racing to bet on with blue essence, watching pro games together [and maybe betting on them with blue essence, too], a public library with the world's lore in it) and a global chat where people can hang out and talk would be really cool. Make it an optional thing and not the default so people can still get into games faster if they want to, make entry a part of the honor system to help keep out toxic people, and I'm in.

Also, I can think of two good side effects of this:

People could chill there while waiting for a game, so matchmaking could be tuned back toward closeness of skill level and ensuring position preference instead of trying to keep down queue times.
There could be more community interaction for streamers, pro players, and Rioters that wanted to hang out with players. There's not really a good way to do that in the game itself, just people have Discord servers. Make the online version of convention halls that can be rented (so there don't need to be bunches of instances of these rooms available for whenever someone wants to do them because that would take up a lot of server space). They could put some "booths" in there, too, that do the things like in the larger public area (emote giveaways could be done through that instead of just on people's streams, which is something some people were upset about).

I agree this would be a fun way to find people to play with, however it would take a lot to do and do well, not only that you'd have to deal with all the toxic little kids that would just talk trash to make people mad I agree it would be fun but without the 60 dollar paywall to keep most of the smaller kids out I think this is gonna be a breeding ground of toxicity. maybe keep an honor wall up keeping unhonorable people our or have a separate section for them, good idea needs a bit more thought into it and it could be fun. Riot definitely make this a thing but don't.... riot it up too hard.

I love social hubs in any type of game. I wish DarkSouls had one so bad. I don't think what you're suggesting is reasonable as that would mean they would have to create a new client and code a ton of stuff that would take years, but the base idea is nice. I would like to be able to queue up to join the hub world or something and a group of like 20 people all spawn on summoners rift and we can just chill out and use chat. Something about having a character out while chatting makes it 20x more fun. I remember back when the custom games community was a thing and people would do this all the time. We would play hide and seek, base rush, some weird pokemon type game where you just 1 by 1 fight each other. Hide and seek and the pokemon game required siege to work tho, because it gave passive exp. I like the idea of a hub tho.

I REALLY LIKE THIS IDEA, HOWEVER....

There are a lot of people that play league of legends and riot will need to secure sustainable servers for this to actually work [in My opinion make a server for each region (like NA east, Central, NA west, but you can still cross over all these servers to play with your friends)]

Another problem is that if they were to start this idea now it would actually take a really long time for this to come up like more than 2 seasons perhaps. Also when it launches it may crash like for example Clash Mode.

But things always get harder before they get easier SO LETS DO IT!

Well, I think that this is a great idea, but we may have a little issue. First, how are you make that concept fit into this 5v5 based game? Second, how big would this game get? Third, I think that Riot "Games" should start working on another games as their name says

Pure Genius. I would be all for this feature. It would give us the ability to form parties, forge new friendships, share strategies and memes, the list goes on.

Having a "Firing Range" filled with target dummies would be another nice touch since you and a friend can practice the perfect wombo combo (can't do multiplayer in practice mode, this would be the next thing).

I implore the team that works on the In-game client to consider adding this feature in the future.

This would require them to fix their fucking client to make it not kill a computer, and actually use much less processing power/memory than it does, and they'd need to figure out a way to do that as well without lagging anyone out.

They did a social hub for Master x Master before it shut down, and honestly pretty forgettable and underwhelming. Seems like a waste of resources, considering it's just somewhere for you to WAIT IN before the ACTUAL game begins.

That would require a huge funding to the project. Let alone a server big enough to hold these "rooms" or "maps" of exploration. I don't think it'll be possible at all at the moment.

That sounds more like IMVU, but I still love the idea. It would probably work if it did function similar to IMVU, with there being different Summoner's Rifts you can enter based on what you want to discuss, for example a "Lore Rift" for those who like to discuss the League lore, or a "Gameplay Rift" for those who want to chat about the game itself, and many more options.

Basically, a much more interactive version of the Boards where you can use champions as avatars.

I am intrigued by the thought of a social hub. I am envisioning something similar to Stormwind in WoW where you end up having random public and private conversations. I can see it now: "Getting ready to first time Teemo, what runes?" And then a million replies.

However...and this is a big however...based on my interactions with players in game, I don't think LoL has fostered the type of people I want to socialize with. The amount of flame, toxicity, and overall turd-ism (yep, turd-ism, I just made it up but we all know it's accurate) is at an all time high and continuing to grow. I don't think I want to socialize with MORE of that.

Although, perhaps a social hub would help foster more friendly players?!?!?!

This, uh. This exact thing was already suggested, many many years ago, on the old League board. The thread got hundreds of upvotes, hundreds of comments of support, and then died and was forgotten because Riot wasn't interested.

It's a nice idea, but an unoriginal one which has already been offered and disregarded. Don't hold out hope for a feature like this.
