Banned = No rewards?

so from what i heard if u get a any kind of ban in any part of season u will not get Season 5 Ranked Rewards is that correct sir ? thanks in advance.

Riot Lyte posted a comment on how players who have been chat restricted, banned, or suspended from ranked queues will not be eligible for ranked rewards.

Here's what I don't understand, didn't riot give out mystery gifts for those who didn't get any restrictions last year?

I'm silver so im not getting anything anyway, but I have friends who've been suspended for lagging out of promo matches and now that they're finally gold they cant get the rewards they were promised!

Ranked rewards should show the hard work players made when climbing the ranked ladder, and now one bad game is going to ruin all the work they put into they're game?

And I've made my research, riot's excuse seems to be somewhere around the lines of "only 1% of the community gets banned" AND "ranked rewards are supposed to symbolize both skill and sportmanship"

People waste hours of they're lives just trying to get to GOLD and because of one bad game, all the time they've put has basically just been practice, all that frustration for nothing. They might have well have been playing bots the whole time.

If i eventually get to gold and get my rewards taken away from me cause i went on tilt one time, I'm leaving this game.

That's the only thing that is keeping me playing right now. Especially after watching Riot trying to balance around LCSBIGPLAY$ and not the players.

One bad game isnt going to get you chat restricted, suspended, or banned. you get those by continuously leaving your games/DC, or being toxic enough that people report you and you get ban/restricted! So i doubt your friend got suspended from just leaving one game!

The game isn't just about rewards. People would just stop at Gold where there is no decay if that's the case.

Lyte has clarified this. Only extremely toxic players (who have received escalated 7- and 14-day bans), chronic leavers, and players with currently active restrictions will be ineligible for ranked rewards. This is similar to what happened in previous seasons.

Another major issue with this is the fact that they announced this already thi far into the season. You cant simply say out of nowhere that if you were banned or chat restricted and such that your rewards will no be given. This is something that has to be said at the start of a season, not the end. Riot should put this onto effect but they would need to fix two things.

First of all, if the player only makes this mistake in no more than 6 games out of their many others, they should NOT be punished. I once left a game duo to a family matter and for 2 months of never leaving games riot finally sent me a message saying they would stop watching over me to ensure I didn't leave any more games. Have noted I had never left a ranked game beforehand.

Secondly riot should look out more for toxic players who are the real issue in this situation. Toxic players don't leave games, so they are harder to track. They simply make games a huge pain for those who get them and are rarely punished for it. Riot says 1% or so are banned or restricted or something of the sort. Riot is showing the statistics for how bad they are doing on finding these toxic players. Leaving games dosnt make you toxic. Riots punishment system is simply not yet advanced enough to be considered efficient, and they should wait further before they begin to put it into effect for things such as these.

I appreciate how riot is trying to get rid of these toxic players but they are doing it wrong. Too put it dramatically, inoccent players are being punished for crimes they did not commit, and riot needs to realize this and wait further before they impliment this kind of system.

Yeah, sometimes Riot's client wouldn't let me choose a champion during champion select, and it banned me from queue for a few minutes. I shouldn't be penalized for an error on Riot's part.
