I would love to see a pure African champion. With all the heritage and culture behind Africa (tassels around the calves, loose clothing, headband, tattoos, etc.) And of course adding more League into the design (jet-packs, ghosts, robots, and magic.) I don't care what position or role I just think it would be a good idea.
You do realize that you are basically looking at a stereotype. Africa doesn't just have "African" people. It has many different countries, Mr. North American. Also, all the heritage crap you speak of is here as well. What about the old Natives? I'm just pisses about you being so stereotypical by saying: Oh, Africa is a place w lots of tribes.
The thing here is that League doesn't have a parallel to "Africa." Much like how the closest thing to, say, medieval Europe is Demacia, and the closest thing to Asia is Ionia, the closest thing to Africa that we've seen is either Shurima or Illaoi's isles, depending on what part of Africa we're referring to.
Illaoi definitely fits much of what you ask, as her island home seems inspired by both African and Samoan cultures. Other than that you'd have to effectively create a new tribe or culture in Runeterra -- that's not a PROBLEM, by any means, but I'd like to see it serve a stronger story purpose than "get a reference to a specific real-world culture." Maybe somewhere in Kumungu or the Fyrone Flats? We don't know much about either place, to my knowledge.
Generally Riot releases champions that have distinct themes around them, creating a very strong character. Kindred being the overseer of death or Cho'Gath the monster from the void devouring all. Then enter your champion idea, with the only defining factor is that he/she is african. Weak character design that relies on stererotypes to have any sort of thematic. What abilities would he have? <inappropriate> African War Call? Be real.
I would love a Voodoo champion, or at least one that borrows heavily from that tradition.
Does the world of league even have an africa like country/faction?
I think they need African servers first.
