Randof; The Summoner (Partially complete paper kit)
Hey guys, this is my first post on the forums and I'm really interested in the champion design process. And I've really been wanting Riot to implement some pet changes so we can see a pet using champion some time in the future.
So I came up with a paper kit for a summoner-like champion that we could see in the future. Like Gnar having his marksman/carry and tanky fighter playstyles I was really interested in the idea of a ranged mage/AP melee bruiser with this concept.
With how the concepts work the summon (I refer to it as an Eidolon in the kit) is targetable and has it's own HP&other stats; akin to how the current form of Tibbers works with Annie, with it's move and attack commands on the mouse. But I've also implemented a changing of forms in the kit like Gnar/Elise/Nidalee to move between those two playstyles.
The Eidolon would have a HP bar and always be on the rift until it has been reduced to 0hp, giving it a cooldown until it is summoned again, giving windows of power and giving the champ tradeoffs based around this. When the eidolon is up the champ itself is much less mobile having his base MS down but also giving him some free tank stats when the eidolon is nearby to somewhat compensate for that lack of mobility. However when the Eidolon is "dead"/on CD the MS is back up to base levels and the free tank stats disappear.
The choices provided to the player forces them to choose whether they want to use the eidolon as an artificial frontline attacking your opponent whith you near the back, leaving you vulnerable to mobile enemies, or to use the eidolon as a "meat shield" keeping them close to protect from skillshots.
The ult makes the two meld together into one being. I was thinking that when this happens the remaining HP of the two of them is added together capped at the max HP of the "healthier?" one.
"Essence" - I had an idea for an upgrade system akin to that of Gangplanks' ult or Viktors hexcores that allows the player to upgrade their eidolon in various ways in order to augment it to perform different functions whether that is for example giving it ranged autos, more HP/defensive stats, a damaging aura akin to a sunfire or things like that, perhaps helping to make the eidolon a little more versatile in the functions it can serve to the summoner and/or the team as a whole.
Not sure how I'd have the player acquire essence. Could have it passively generate over time or on minion/monster/champ kills similarly to how Thresh's souls work.
Randof; The Summoner Immobile Mage/AP Bruiser 2 Forms (Like Nidalee/Elise/Gnar) - Summoner Form (human?) & Meld Form (Joined with Eidolon)
Passive - Eidolon
Part 1 - Concentration Randof has massively slowed MS when his eidolon is alive/active. (Lowered base MS by 80). When Melded MS goes back to normal.
Part 2 - Shared Strength When eidolon is alive/active and within 1200 units Randof's MR/Armour is increased by 10% of his eidolon's MR/Armour.
Part 3 - When melded the half with the greater HP's bar takes precedent. When melded takes 12% less damage.
Summoner Form + Eidolon (Annie+Tibbers)
Q - Returning projectile (like Lux Shield?) that silences for 1.5s on first hit - Which refreshes on return if it connects a second time. Dealing Magic Damage based on total AP.
W - Creates a shield for up to 5 seconds, it can be immediately recast to detonate the shield knocking back the enemy champion 2? teemos. Detonation deals magic damage based on total AP.
E - Skillshot projectile that on hitting an enemy champion cases magic damage over time ticking on movement. 1 tick every teemo?
R - Meldshift - Randof and his eidolon meld/separate. (Nidalee/Elise Shift)
Meld Form
Q - Cleaves in an arc in front. Dealing magic damage based on total AP.
W - 3 hit passive. 3rd AA procs to slow enemy champ by 25% for 3s and causes magic damage that bleeds 10% of max hp over 5s. Cannot be procced on the same target more than once every 10s.
E - Eidolon dashes towards a target dealing physical damage based on total AP.
R - Meldshift - Randof and his eidolon meld/separate. (Nidalee/Elise Shift)
