Yorick ultimate skin
So this may be lost in the sea that is the boards and I may not articulate my ideas the best but here goes, warning though this will be very stream of consciousness-y. So as the title suggests I've come up with an idea for a Yorick ultimate skin, but first we should ask what makes an ultimate skin. With ultimate skins Riot have always pushed the border of what you can do with a skin, usually in the form of an evolving skin, I tell you my ideas but first a little backstory.
As a Yorick main I gotta say he feels great to play, he's this big juggernaut who can 1v2 1v3 pretty consistently with ult, and he loves to siege towers, all in all he gives me a lot of raid boss level feels. So that made me think what would a raid boss Yorick look like, which led me to looking into various MMO's and such. My first thought was that big armor look you see in a lot of MMO's you know kinda based off how WoW did things, that then shifted to more of the asian MMO look. Along the way I remembered this trailer for this game, you've probably seen the ad, it's called Dungeon Hunter V, here's the trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwAqQ6o8r-0 now sure it kinda touched on the look I was thinking (at least partly, except I'd want more demonic) but more it gave me an idea, what if you had a skin that changed as you bought items.
So this idea already I see a couple pitfalls with, namely that not everyone buys the same items, though Yorick does have some core ones, namely Trinity Force. Most every Yorick will start corrupting pot then rush Triforce, so my thought for the skin was small little changes as you buy items, for example his vial he carries around his neck would become more ornate when you buy your corrupting, and then as you buy the pieces of Triforce maybe gems or something would appear on his shovel, transforming it into a cooler looking one when Triforce is bought. Some items would be pretty straightforward, boots give you boots, any tier 2 gives even nicer boots, Sunfire would ignite the end of your cloak (pretty straightforward), Deadman's would give you cool shoulder plates. Some would be a little trickier, like even though Spirit Visage appears as armor I'd make it a hood, starting maybe as a scarf when you buy Specter's Cowl, then become an ornate hood when upgraded. Sterak's Gage would be a gauntlet on his left hand, as would Iceborn, but here's where we run into another potential problem. What happens when someone buy's item's that go in the same "slot" so to speak, since I don't know that you can just make each item at a different place (too many items to do that), and again not everyone will build the same, I for example build quite off meta, going Triforce -> Swifty -> Titanic ->Sterak's -> Mallet -> Warmog's, and some people build Death's Dance and Black Cleaver with Iceborn.
Now one way you could handle this is to make it some the first item bought for a slot is permanent unless sold (don't want people buying items for looks then selling them and keeping the looks) and I think this is the best solution, the other I can think off would be to combine the looks, for example Black Cleaver would make the shovel head ax like and Death's Dance would make it glowy and give it eyes, and mind you you could go this route, there's just a lot of combinations which would take SO much work (though it would look awesome). I also think having unique animations for active items like Hydra and Triforce would be awesome, but I can see where that might mess with clarity too much.
As for overall design again I'm thinking MMO raid boss lord of the dungeon kinda look, but with a demon-y flair. Lore wise I thought it'd be fun to see a Yorick who's different then his normal skin, in his normal skin he's kinda a guy with the weight of the world on his shoulders, or at least the weight of the souls of the Shadow Isles. For a skin I thought it'd be cool to maybe see this concept reversed, have him be the devil with an angel on his shoulder, instead of the other way around. This in my opinion would in some ways lead to a more enthusiastic Yorick oddly enough, instead of being this dreary guy with a purpose. This gave me 2 ideas.

Make him one who's given in and revels in undeath, to which end I suggest this, Yorick, King of the Isles. Yep I wanna see a Yorick who at some point stopped fighting the darkness and instead usurped it's power, maybe he just gave up along the way or heck make it more tragic, make it all LotR, where after he finally defeats the Ruined King instead of saving the Isles he takes his place and rules them.

Make him in more of a hard fantasy setting, a Yorick who sold his soul and became a demon lord who has all the power. What I like about this idea is the Maiden, I'd have her be an angelic figure bound to Yorick, his hostage, his ghouls could be horned little hellions.
For both of these concepts I'd want like I said a sorta role reversal, whereas normal Yorick feels a bit controlled by the Maiden with her reminding him that he's almost failed and it's hopeless to persist, these versions would see him talking down to here, maybe she'd talk about how he has fallen and he'd respond more arrogantly, for example the line "Yorick, look at what you've become" would be responded with something like "Yes, I have become stronger" with maybe an arrogant gleeful chuckle thrown in after words, less of a weary dreary Yorick and more cocky arrogant, the type that'd smirk instead of frown. I want a Yorick who feels empowered instead of chained.
Another element I was thinking would be nice is increased visuals on his abilities, so when he summons ghouls make it really flashy and over the top. i'm thinking a cool thing would be for him to have some sort of flame in his left hand that he'd raise skyward to summon the ghouls, or maybe pull out a gemstone and crush it, leading to swirling masses of energy that pop out the ghouls. Of course this all has to be done in a few frames so how far it can be pushed I'm not sure, but I do think it'd really add to the feel of the skin. Also would like the ghouls to grow with level, maybe based on ult rank. I think both ideas would look good giving Yorick some sorta demonic crown, and make his shovel into a long handled broken sword like in some of his early rework concepts.
All in all I get that the next ultimate is probably already in development and Yorick probably already has a skin being worked on but a guy can dream. So yeah this has been my Yorick ultimate skin idea, hope you guys liked it, if you've gotten this far thanks for reading. Let me know down in the comments any ideas you guy's have to add, it's been a long time since Yorick's gotten a skin so I hope whatever Riot makes is a good one.
