[Champion Suggestion] Helmet Bro REWORK
If you guys remember the original design for Helmet Bro (If not its in the link), then I want to try rewriting his abilities in a way that I find would be fun and entertaining. This isn't entirely serious, as I am mainly writing this at 4 in the morning with time to kill. If you want to know his lore, it is, again, in the link above (I feel like shameless copy paste would not be so shameless). Also, RIP Helmet Bro. Teemo and I will miss you. I have no name for his resource other than Charge.
Passive: Spelldrinker Blade Every time an enemy hurts Helmet Bro, he gains [Charge] (This is increased for spell damage). He can store 100 Charge, and gains 2 charge if hit by a minion or monster, 4 charge if hit by a champion basic attack and 8 charge if he takes spell damage. When below 1/2 of his maximum charge, he will slowly gain charge, 1 per 5 seconds.
Q: Warped Sword - Toggle Passive: When toggled off, Basic Attacks grant Helmet Bro 1 charge on hit (2 if against an enemy champion). When at full charge, Warped Sword deals an additional 5/10/15/20/25 (+.15 AP) on-hit Magic Damage. On toggle, becomes Dark Release. Dark Release: Basic attacks are now ranged, dealing an additional 10/15/20/25/30 (+.15 AP) on-hit Magic Damage, and cost 4 charge per attack. Range: About as far as Twisted Fate's Auto Attacks. Global Cooldown: 3 seconds
W: Cloak of Shadows Passive: Helmet Bro gains a 2%/4%/6%/8%/10% bonus to Armor and Magic Resist. This is disabled while ability is on cooldown. Helmet Bro pulls his tattered cape to cover him, granting him a Spell Shield for 2 seconds. If he is hit with a spell, the spell is absorbed, and Cloak of Shadows becomes Avenger's Embrace. Avenger's Embrace: For the next 5 seconds, you can cast this ability on any non-structure/ward unit. You dash to that target and explode magical energy, dealing 65/85/105/125/145 (+.45 AD) Physical Damage to the target (if it was an enemy), and applying an AoE 30% slow for 2 seconds. Dash Range: About as far as Ahri's Cost: 30 Charge at all levels (Refunded if Avenger's Embrace was proc'd but not cast) Cooldown: 18/17/16/15/14 seconds
E: Dig Two Graves Dig Two Graves: Helmet Bro's next basic attack (Can be applied with Dark Release; Looks like a Zelda styled energy cleave) deals a bonus 25/35/45/55/65 (+5% of Maximum Health) (+.25 AD) Magic Damage, and applies a 20% slow for 2.5 seconds. Cost: 5% of your Current Health and 15 Charge at all levels Cooldown: 14/13/12/11/10 seconds
R: Conviction Passive: While off cooldown, Warped Sword's passive grants double the Charge gain on hit. Helmet Bro raises the sword of his brother, sending a bolt forward. If it hits an enemy champion, it deals 160/200/240 (+.4 AP) Magic Damage, and suppresses them for 1.5 seconds while Helmet Bro completes his attack. Helmet Bro then dashes through the enemy, dealing 125/155/185 (+.8 AD) Physical Damage, appearing behind them and slamming the sword into the ground, causing a shockwave that knocks up and damages all nearby enemies for 150/190/230 (+.4 AP) Magic Damage. Range: About a Thresh hook. Cost: 60 Charge Cooldown: 150/135/120 (Cooldown is reduced by 60 seconds if you miss)
Thanks for reading so far! I have a few notes about this as well, explaining how he would play ingame, how he could build, and who he would be good/bad against.
First: I meant him as a Top Laner (All Riven haters QUIVER WITH RAGE!) without mana. The main ways he will be getting Charge is to be hit by stuff or hit stuff, so he wouldn't do too well as a support, but other than that, he is fairly flexible. His Jungle/ADC game is poor, he's only ranged when he has charge to spend (25 Attacks if he was at full charge), and has no sustain. He's an excellent duelist and initiator, however, making him perfect for top, and viable enough for mid. Since his ranged game is limited on whether or not he can time his W right, hit with his Ult, or use Charge with Q, he would not fare so well against ranged champs but have a better chance than most melee champs. He also doesn't have mobility, his W is situational since he has to have a unit to dash to (Be it a minion, monster, or Champion) and someone to hit him with a spell. These are his downfalls (But this can be said about a lot of toplaners, can it?).
Second: He's hybrid Tank (Like Jax). There are a mix of AD and AP scalings in there (And even one HP Scaling, with some resistance bonus as well), which means you can go nuts with builds for him. Whether you build AD or AP your auto attacks will rip people (Imagine a Hextech Gunblade and Guinsoo's), and the fact that your damage types are everywhere, (Q deals bonus magic damage, W is Physical, E is Magic, Ult is a mix of both) buying resistances to counter him is mainly a game of "What is he building?" But even then, it's not going to stop all the damage.
Building items on Helmet Bro To fit the needs of your team, you could build a number of ways. Pay attention to how much AD/AP is present in your team and how much they need a tank. If they already have a tank (Braum Support, Rammus Jungle), then you can afford yourself a little more damage. If you are going AP, Nashor's Tooth is a must. It increases your attack speed and AP, and the glorious passive to go with your Q. The cooldown reduction is pretty nice as well. If you are going AD, get something like Mercurial Scimitar, so if your W is off cooldown and you are hit with CC you can cleanse yourself of it. If you are having a hard time staying lane, invest in some sustain, like a Hextech Scumblade. A good item to start off with is Doran's Shield, or if you are against a lane opponent that can only ever eat poop, buy a Doran's Blade/Ring and S**t on them. Lich Bane may lose out on Mana, but the effect is great with your E or a Q switch. He's an Off-tank bruiser, primarily, but he can be anything he wants to be. That's the power of Helmet Bro!

Synergy:
Orianna can ult right before Helmet Bro ults to increase his chances of hitting someone and landing the AoE knock up on all of them. Her kit also provides AP bonuses to her basic attacks, so the hidden damage potential can be really good.
Kalista, if she bonds with Helmet Bro, (Cool enough since Kalista is all about promising people retribution...) he can block an ability with W, dash to them and deal damage, Kalista ult him, throw him, then he ults into this epic chain combo. She's got mobility to be offensive where he can't during the teamfight phase and the two of them would be a terrifying force to face in a lane.
If Helmet Bro is scary, Yasuo Mid on the same team would be terrifying. All you can do is watch yourself die in the hands of a wombo combo of their ults, and cry at how little use your pokes are against their shields, as well as both being entirely manaless (Although Helmet Bro can't spam like Yasuo).
Jarvan ganks will be even more scary, as his knockups can help Helmet Bro land ults, or keep them from escaping the AoE knockup. Since both have a dash-to it would be a hard duo to escape.
Counter Picks:
He can't block all of her abilities, and due to her CC and his lack of reliable mobility, she can out trade him, and entirely without cost, where he would have breaks inbetween his ability use.
Hecarim is fast and that is something Helmet Bro lacks. If Helmet Bro is caught out he can be ended swiftly if he can't tank the damage Hecarim deals.
Garen just plain out tanks everybody but Nautilus. Couple that with a move speed boost and a silence, and you've spelt a bad day for Helmet Bro.
Suprisingly enough, Kassadin (The very one who helped him) is a strong pick against him, even with the newly nerfed ult. He's got great burst and good escape, so if Helmet Bro cannot react fast enough, his healthbar will be gone and will not be able to escape the Kassadin teleports.
Thanks for reading, guys! I hope you liked it. I certainly had a good time writing it, and if anything seems off (OP, or way too weak) let me know. I'll edit the scalings if it is a particular problem. Of course, this doesn't have to be Helmet Bro. It would be cool to see this kit somewhere else, but it was designed with Helmet Bro's story in mind.
