Gid is a Fawn from the groves of Ionia who has a gift for music. With his flute in his hand and his Nymph friends by his side, he plans on playing music for all!

Gid is a utility mage that specializes in grouping/engage.

Subclass: Enchanter

KIT:

Passive: Nymph Companions

When Gid casts a spell out of combat, a Nymph will appear near Gid and begin to follow him around. Nymphs grant 50% Base Health Regen to him. Gid can have up to 4 Nymphs following him, up to 200% Base Health Regen. When Gid is damaged by an enemy champion, all Nymphs disappear and Gid receives +10-28% (based on level) movement speed for 2 seconds.

Q – Traveling Tune

Passive: Casting spells grants 4/5/6/7/8 Ability Power for 5 seconds. (This bonus can stack) Active: Gid begins to play a tune on his pipe, slowly building up movement speed over 8 seconds. Gid leaves a fading essence trail behind him during this spell, and ally units inside it are granted the bonus movement speed Gid receives with this spell. As soon as the movement speed cap is reached, the movement speed bonus begins to decay over 4 seconds. All spell effects end upon casting another spell or receiving damage from an enemy champion.

(The maximum duration is up to 12 seconds) (The cooldown begins upon end of the spell)

Spell Type: AoE Trail Trail Range: Up to 700 units behind Gid Bonus Movement Speed: Up to +50/55/60/65/70% Bonus Movement Speed Cooldown: 15/14.5/14/13.5/13 seconds Mana Cost: 75

W – Beckoning Tune

Passive: Gid stores a charge of Beckoning Tune periodically, up to a maximum of 8 charges.

Active: Gid plays a tune in a target direction, applying a stack of Beckon to all enemy units hit for 3.5 seconds.

When an enemy unit has 4 Beckon stacks, the stacks are consumed, massive damage is dealt to the unit and they are forced to dance (Stunned) for 2 seconds. This unit cannot receive Beckon stacks for 14/12/10/8/6 seconds. (Beckon can stack up to 4 times, with each subsequent stack refreshing the duration of the other stacks.) (Upon recalling or the beginning of the game, Gid automatically refreshes all charges.)

“OP bad design lol”

Not really. Here's his basic premise and how to counter his kit. Gid's specialty is capitalizing on early grouping. His Q allows for fast travel, and his R gives his team engage potential. His laning phase is healthy if played passively. However, his windows of opportunity are very small, and they rely on him knowing when to go in, otherwise he can either be ignored or chain CC'd.

  • Passive: Any poke automatically removes the Nymphs. Gid will probably cast spells while not in combat to gain Nymphs, and then proceed to make trades, while attempting to keep the Nymphs by avoiding champion damage. Frequent poke will prevent him from making use of this passive sustain.
  • Q: The active of this spell is his “quick rotation.” However, any damage or casting another ability will reset this passive. Therefore, the best way to counter this is to force him to use a spell (W,E,R) or damage him. The cooldown is rather long so it will take him some time until he can use this spell again.
  • W: This is his only damaging ability. It has large burst and lockdown, but he has to land it FOUR times before the burst is activated. Kiting/escapes will prevent this from happening. Keep in mind he has several tries to do this, so avoid getting baited.
  • E: Bait it out, simple as that. Also, force him to use spells frequently in lane NOT during trades, that will prevent him from getting the reset during a trade.
  • R: Make him use it as a disengage, not an engage. It's shield strength is drastically reduced without active Nymphs. Also, when you know it is down, go in! Gid is VERY susceptible to chain CC.

LORE:

Gid's story begins deep in the groves of Ionia, where many magical creatures still reside. As a young fawn, he enjoyed the company of his people, and lived a happy life. He was a musical prodigy in his tribe, and was able to get anyone dancing with joy when he played his pipe. However, Gid was curious as to what lurked outside his home grove. At one point, he tried to sneak out, but his parents caught him in the act and told him to never ever try this again. What Gid's parent's didn't know is that he was entranced by several young Nymphs dancing and singing during his time away from the Grove. Now the fawns always enjoyed a good dance, so he decided that one day, he would find those nymphs again, and show them his skill with the pipe. As Gid reached maturity, he made final preparations to leave the grove in secret. His parents didn't suspect a thing, and on the next new moon, he did it! He was free to go! With his satchel and pipe, he began his journey to the outside world. Soon after the escape, he became dismayed. He hadn't eaten in days, and hadn't found any sign of the nymphs. As he stooped in despair, he pulled out his pipe, and began to play a sad tune. To his surprise, not more than a few seconds later, several nymphs appeared with food in their arms! Apparently, they had been following him for several days, not knowing what to think of him. They were surprised to find a fawn so far away from home. After a quick meal, he picked up his pipe once more, and told the Nymphs to get ready to dance. He began playing the most jovial tune, and the Nymphs were astonished with his talent! They danced and applauded him, greatly increasing his ego. The Nymphs were very thankful for the good time he gave them, and several decided to follow him along in his journey of the outside world. Gid went to many small Ionian villages afterward, playing his pipe for the masses. Many people were impressed. He was enjoying his journey with his friends, and was glad that people were happy. During his travels to another village, he crossed an old man on the road, who looked very sad. Gid told the old man not to worry, and Gid pulled out his pipe to play a happy tune. As soon as he did this, the old man looked up, and took off his cloak. He was a wizard! The wizard was extremely dumbfounded by Gid's ability to make people happy by only playing a few notes, and offered to make a deal with him. The wizard enchanted his pipe, increasing his powers to manipulate music tenfold, and told him to go to a place called summoner's rift. He said that there were many sad people there that could use a tune played by his hand. The wizard also stated that if he played there, people all over the world would be able to hear him. Gid agreed in an instant, jumping at the chance to play his music for an even larger audience. Thus, after receiving directions from the old wizard, he made his way towards the summoner's rift, nymphs by his side and pipe in hand.

ok let me be honest this champion gives too much of one thing. that is movement speed. Additionally outside of that the champion doesnt do much. I think he has one damaging ability that takes multiple stacks to even get off and all the champ has to do is run away or cc gid and boom he is done. Slow would even work in this case. another method would be something like morg shield... boom gid does nothing. Now his ult is cool but a bit too situational to be any decent. Change one of the buffs to attack speed or something to make it work. Additionally this champion does no damage and is a good support but nothing else. nobody would use him
