Discussion: So, if you have no idea what this champion does because you didn't bother to read carefully, this section is for you! So, what is his overall playstyle? Gid's kit has good skirmishing capabilities, and has great roaming potential. His power resides in the early/mid game, but can contribute late game with the various utility he provides. Roam (Q), Decent Peel (W & R), and Kiting Potential (E) To some of you out there, he seems like a ripoff. And in some ways, you're right. His kit has similarities to certain champions, but it has its own uniqueness in many ways. I wanted to make a champion that didn't have to use the same buildpath every game in order to win. I wanted someone flexible, someone who you could mix it up with.

Leif, he sounds overpowered! Yes, his kit is very good. It allows for great roaming with nearby allies and good peel/outplay potential, but it has its drawbacks.

First off, his damage is weak. With only 2 damaging abilities that have a mediocre output, the potential to carry is very low. He's also relatively squishy, so he can't really frontline without serious tank items. Also, his kit's combos are hard to pull off, giving him a high skill ceiling, but nobody will be able to pick him up and play him effectively no-sweat.

Leif, you did a terrible job explaining things in the skills section. Can you draw some analogies in order to help me understand the nature of his kit? Sure! Many of Gid's abilities have similarities to other champion abilities.

Passive- Similar to Bard's meeps, Nymphs begin to follow you around after you cast spells. Nymphs grant bonus health regen, allowing for some sustain while roaming or after a trade. However, if damaged in combat, these Nymphs dissapear.

Q- Similar to a mishmash between Galio's E and Quinn's current R (Behind Enemy Lines), you gain bonus movement speed that builds up over time, and allies that follow your trail gain the bonus movement speed as well. Great for returning to lane, ganking, and disengage. What about the passive? The passive grant's bonus magic damage on hit, so you may have a reason to max this ability first.

W- This ability is a mix between Braum's Passive and Velkoz's W, it is an charge based spell, that if landed 3 times on the enemy opponent, Charms them toward you for a short duration. This ability is good for trading and peel, and is his main damage output.

E- This ability is similar to Lucian's E and Tristana's W, it is a small dash. The cooldown is lowered upon casting other spells, and its cooldown is reset completely upon kill or assist. It allows for kiting and repositioning in teamfights, engage, and disengage.

R- Similar to JarvanIV's R. Gid creates a circle of petals that enemy projectiles or champions cannot pass through (Similar to impassable terrain.) It deals mediocre damage, and the duration of the circle is increased for each active Nymph, hinting that it is better at engage than disengage. This can be used to keep priority targets from escaping, allowing for good teamfight and peel capabilities.

Where would you play him? Probably mid or support. Jungle could work, but his clear speeds would be very slow, and he doesn't have enough sustain/tankiness to work well in top lane. ADC is out of the question.

Lore: Gid's story begins deep in the magical forests of Ionia. As a little fawn, he enjoyed the company of his people, and lived a happy life. He was a musical prodigy in his tribe, and was able to get anyone dancing with joy when he played his pipe. However, Gid was curious as to what lurked outside his little grove. Once, he tried to sneak out, but his parents caught him and told him to never ever try to leave the grove, as it was very dangerous out there. What Gid's parent's didn't know, is that during his short period of time peeking outside of the forest, he was entranced by several young Nymphs dancing and singing. Now the fawns always enjoyed a good dance, so he decided that one day, he would find those nymphs, and show them his skill with the pipe. As Gid reached manhood, he made final preparations to leave the grove in secret. His parents didn't suspect a thing, and on the next new moon, he did it! He was free to go! With his satchel and pipe, he began his journey to the outside world. Soon after the escape, he became dismayed. He hadn't eaten in days, and hadn't found any sign of the nymphs. As he stooped in despair, he pulled out his pipe, and began to play a sad tune. To his surprise, not more than a few seconds later, several nymphs appeared with food in their arms! Apparently, they had been following him for several days, not knowing what to think of him. They were surprised to find a fawn so far away from home. After a quick meal, he picked up his pipe once more, and told the Nymphs to get ready to dance. He began playing the most jovial tune, and the Nymphs were astonished with his talent! They danced and applauded him, greatly increasing his ego. The Nymphs were very thankful for the good time he gave them, and several decided to follow him along in his journey of the outside world. Gid went to many small Ionian villages afterward, playing his pipe for the masses. Many people were impressed. He was enjoying his journey with his friends, and was glad that people were happy. During his travels to another village, he crossed an old man on the road, who looked very sad. Gid told the old man not to worry, and Gid pulled out his pipe to play a happy tune. As soon as he did this, the old man looked up, and took off his cloak. He was a wizard! The wizard was extremely dumbfounded by Gid's ability to make people happy by only playing a few notes, and offered to make a deal with him. The wizard enchanted his pipe, increasing his powers to manipulate music tenfold, and told him to go to a place called summoner's rift. He said that there were many sad people there, that could use a tune played by his hand. The wizard also stated that if he played there, people all over the world would be able to hear him. Gid agreed in an instant, jumping at the chance to play his music for an even larger audience. Thus, after receiving directions from the old wizard, he made his way towards the summoner's rift, nymphs by his side and pipe in hand.

This isn't a final version of the lore, please let me know what you think about it, and if you have anything you would change, please let me know!

Visuals: The concept of a fawn with nymphs following him around is relatively easy to portray, but I still included pictures nonetheless. I didn't create and I don't own any of these pictures.

Stuff for Riot: Dear Riot, I hereby give you permission to use all ideas inside this kit/lore without having to give me credit/royalty. However, I would like one thing if you use this idea. Just 7200 IP? That way I can buy him when he comes out. Oh and please use this idea, it would be a dream come true. I think this would be a relatively good next champion, as the majority of your new champions have been based around heavy AD or tankiness. (With the exception of Aurelion Sol) This would be a new champion with new unique mechanics to spice things up.

Questions: If you have questions about lore, kit mechanics, and/or any other question, let me know! I put a lot of time into thinking up this champion, so don't be afraid to ask! If you think this champion idea is bad, let me know why! I'd love the critique.

Gid is a utility mage with great roaming/skirmishing potential and various forms of utility. Overview:

Base Stats: Health: 614 - 1784 (+65 per level) Health Regen: 5.7 - 15.42 (+0.54 per level) Mana: 500 - 1256 (+42 per level) Mana Regen: 6.5 - 20.54 (+0.78 per level) Attack Damage: 40 – 109.7 (+4.1 per level) Attack Speed: 0.625 – 0.870 (+1.36% per level) Armor: 30.5 - 80 (+2.75 per level) Magic Resist: 30 - 30 (+0 per level) Movement Speed: 350 AA Range: 525 (Ranged)

These stats looks odd. Your starting health is very high, while your 18 level health is beyond low. If i am not wrong, no other champion have health this low. Also, starting AD is pretty low. Early game and late game, this champion fill be facing many problems: early not enough AD, late not enough health.

Passive: Pied Piper 1.5 seconds after casting a spell and not receiving damage, a Nymph will appear near Gid and begin to follow him around. Nymphs grant 100% Base Health Regen to him. Gid can have up to 3 Nymphs following him, up to 300% Base Health Regen. Nymphs disappear after Gid receives damage from an enemy champion.

Extreme version of Garen's passive. With no items at all, you will be healing 12.34 health per sec. With item 3083, item 3065 and some more health items (about 3500 total health), you will be healing for 132.14 health every sec while out of combat. 26 sec and you are healed for your max health. I know it is easy to lose these "Nymphomaniacs", but it is also were easy to gain them. Also, lots of melee champion can't deal damage from range and your champion is range, so you have an edge.

Q- Lively Tune Passive: +10/15/20/25/30 (+10% AP) bonus magic damage on hit. Active: Gid begins to play a jig on his pipe, slowly building up movement speed while moving. Gid leaves a fading essence trail behind him, and ally units inside it are granted the bonus movement speed Gid recieves. The spell effects end upon casting another spell or receiving damage from an enemy champion. (Max duration: 12 seconds)

Spell Type: AoE Trail Trail Range: Up to 700 units behind Gid Bonus Movement Speed: Up to +50/60/70/80/90% Bonus Movement Speed Cooldown: 15/14.5/14/13.5/13 seconds Mana Cost: 75

Passive ir pretty basic. Nothing unique, probably there for damage balance reasons, right? While active looks pretty fun, that bonus movement speed is so incredibly massive. Are you just put any number which looked cool or something? With this you could easily take all your team from your base to enemy base without them even being able to recall in time. You are looking at 800 movement speed right here. Some projectiles moves slower than that. Everything, except number on movement speed, looks pretty good.

W– Captivating Song Passive: Gid stores a charge of Captivating Song periodically, up to a maximum of 3 stored at once. Active: Gid plays a tune in a target direction, dealing magic damage to all units hit. When this ability damages an enemy unit, It applies 1 stack of Captivating Song for 3.5 seconds. All successful hits of this spell refresh the duration of previous marks. Upon an enemy champion reaching 3 stacks of Captivating Song, they walk harmlessly towards Gid for 1.75 seconds.

Spell Type: Skill-Shot Range: 600 Damage: 40/50/60/70/80 (+45% AP) Magic Damage Recharge Cooldown: 8/7/6/5/4 seconds Static Cooldown: 1.5 seconds Mana Cost: 15/20/25/30/35

Recharge cooldown, at the max rank, is too low. You will be able to charm pretty much every enemy and having charges loses it's meaning, when recharge time is so short. Also, 45% AP scaling is pretty high. Building full AP, you can be doing 135% of AP in damage and apply a charm. Other than that, looks pretty solid.

E- Jovial Hop Active:** Gid leaps to a target location, The cooldown is lowered by 2.5 seconds whenever Gid casts a spell, and the cooldown completely resets upon kill or assist.

Spell Type: Dash Range: 350 Cooldown: 18 seconds Mana Cost: 60/55/50/45/40

A movement ability. Looks pretty nice, but i have to ask you this: what is the point of ranking this ability up? At mid/ late game, you will have plenty of mana. There is no reason for ranking this ability beyond 1 rank. Also, "cooldown completely resets upon kill or assist" are you sure? You were going for creature of nature, who runs around, avoid fighting and plays music. Why is his ability resets when he murders someone?

R- Petal Squall Active: Gid summons a twister of petals around a target area for up to 3 seconds, (Minimum 1.5 second, +0.5 seconds for each active Nymph) Enemy projectiles are destroyed upon hitting the wall of petals, and enemy champions cannot leave or enter the area. (With the exception of blinks.) Enemy champions inside the circle take magic damage every second.

Range: 1200/550 Spell Type: Target AoE AoE Damage: 90/110/130 (+35% AP) magic damage per second Cooldown: 60/65/70 seconds Mana Cost: 120 mana

Pretty solid, except cast range. It is way too long. Don't forget, that you can isolate 3-4 enemies easily with this huge radius, changing fight from 5v5 to 5v1. I suggest reducing radus slightly (400 seems a lot, but it is still better than 550) and cast range greatly (no more than 800 or you will get number one most banned champion for just his R isolation powers).

Also, next time when you ask someone for a review, at least give that person an upvote or two.

Really like the concept. Shares some minor similarities with one I'm working on now. I quite like the lore and the kits nice too. I would maybe bump the CD on the Q a little and maybe the base damage on the W but it is still very sound.

DriftThruTheRift4/20/2016, 6:27:50 PM1 votes

I think it's an interesting design all around, tbh though tl:dr everything but abilities lol I can't see any room for improve atm as of right now

CrimsonCobra34/20/2016, 7:17:41 PM1 votes

This is an excellent concept. I made two notes that need to be clarified in the written description though: His Q needs a max duration, and his W needs a stack lifetime.

The damage is actually exceptionally low, removing him from viable gameplay for any role but support. Good AP ratios would be in the 30-80% range. Good Base damage would be 60-200 range.

If you want him streamlined for support, go light on the damage. It could still use a bit of help though, he doesn't have any heals, and his only CC is on his ultimate, so I faces a bit of trouble going support.

I really like this guy he sounds like a ball of fun to play as, since I main as a Support player I would play Gid. Also we could use a satyr themed Champion in LOL, Kindred's Lamb may count but I still want Gid added to the game.

Also great job on his Lore, i really like it. It really tells of what kinda person Gid is & shows just how much he like to have fun.
