Violet Balesko A.K.A Victoria Raven-Bane "The Mistress of Verve"
Name : Victoria Raven-Bane (Victoria/Violet Belasko) Title: "The Mistress of Verve" Combat Role: AD Melee/ AP Caster Tags: Fighter, Mage, Melee Lane: Top lane/Mid Lane?
"Have you ever wondered what happens to energy once it leaves the body?"
Lore: Victoria Belasko was the only child born to a mother and father just outside of the village of Kalamanda. The family was renowned amongst some scholars for their unique brand of magic they practiced called Thaumakinesis (The practice of manipulating raw kinetic energy). At the age of six, Victoria (or Violet, as her parents would call her; due to her strange purple eyes) had developed a proclivity for this magic. The townsfolk, however, saw this talent as a potential threat. Even though Victoria was a child prodigy and would likely grow to be an invaluable asset to the town some day, the confrontation between Noxus and Demecia was approaching its precipice. Thusly the family was shunned in an attempt for people of the town to disassociate from any sources that could give reason for further hostility. On the day of the first battle for Kalamanda, _Victoria _ had been atop a nearby mountain, away from civilians, honing her skills. She had been in an area that was secluded; where she could not harm anyone or anything as the magic she wielded was both powerful and potentially dangerous. The girl was as passive as she was talented. Unfortunately, the house she came back to was not the one she had grown up in, in fact, it was a pile of ash. Outside, her parents lay dead at the feet of a stranger with an enormous bird on his arm. Their gazes met but, he did nothing. As he simply walked away, she stared in shock and awe at her parent's lifeless corpses. She ran to their sides attempted to draw upon the energy she hoped was left within their bodies, to save it, perhaps in an effort to bring them back to physical form later, but the life force had already abandoned their bodies. All that was left of their murderer were two feathers.
That day she chose to dawn the feathers in her hair as tribute to her family and a representation of her convictions as well as a reminder of her obligation to protect those she loves. However, as she grew, she continued to perfect her lost art and eventually she found a promising career as a mercenary. For each person she successfully executed she acquired, for herself, new feathers; which she added to her armor ( it can clearly be seen upon the outfit she adorns today). At the ripe age of nineteen she had acquired enough money to bribe a man she knew as a Demecian informant as to the whereabouts of the mysterious man with the bird on his shoulder. The informant divulged more than sufficient details upon which _Victoria _ discovered that the man's name was** Swain**. She learned that he had become a top officer in the Noxian army and that he was indeed at the siege of Kalamanda. After this light had been shed upon all the facts she had previously been blind to, she chose to adopt the last name of Raven-Bane to signify her righteous indignation and lust for vengeance. She vowed that day that she would hunt this man down and murder him in cold blood; as he did her parents.
Victoria wanted to learn more and so she continued her mercenary work in addition to her payments to the informant so that she could study the nuances of espionage. She spent Years, cultivating an intimate relationship with the informant who then revealed, through parcel, that he would be traveling far away so that he could conduct an undercover investigation, one behind enemy lines, and that they would no longer be able to meet. Victoria wrote back begging her friend to meet her one last time for a "farewell kiss". The informant accepted, and he explained to her that the investigation details were unknown to nearly everybody including his contact in Noxus. All that was known was that a spy was on the way to the rendezvous point. After having discussed all she wanted to know they parted ways. However, once his back was turned Victoria threw a sharpened steel-tipped quill, with lethal precision, into his spine killing him instantly. She was to take his place on this mission, this was, after all, the opportunity she had been seeking for years. Their relationship had been based on deceit, and she had perhaps become the better spy. After a short time, Victoria was dispatched to the Crystal Scar, where she had once grown, to observe the battles undergone by the heroes within The League of Legends. During her investigations she unveiled that Swain was somehow involved. Her fury for vindication grew as she realized the man that had slaughtered her family had the nerve to return to a place that she considered sacred. Unfortunately Victoria felt that at her current skill-level she did not stand a chance against Swain. She felt that the only way to push past herself past her peak would be to join this new super power. Eventually her ambitions got the best of her and she chose to offer her services and unique combat style to the** League of Legends**. Now at the age of twenty-six she continues to hone her skills in battle in hopes that she will eventually encounter and obliterate the man that tore her life apart.

Side information: This character is intended to use a "switch class" mechanic to adjust her ranges (Kind of like a reverse Elise) and string abilities to champion kill. She has good wave clear but her main purpose is to deal a little damage to champions while providing a few knockback and stun mechanics to better allow her team to isolate or chase their enemies.

Dance: Maybe a snippet from a dance like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1L2eeEh5ZwY (open to suggestions as I'm totally not
sure on this one)
Notes: I want this character to have enough health to handle herself in a close range brawl but not so much that she is tank-esque. Her mana/ resource management, i want to last longer than most heroes so she can still effectively poke and push her lane despite the smaller damage coefficients I plan to have. In regards to that, her ability to shift from AD damage to AP damage despite those smaller coefficients will make her consistently effective in combat when she can use her ultimate. (for more perspective,** investigate the ultimate ability** and resource coefficients for "Avatar" form abilities). I want her range to be only a slight bit further than average to fit her theme; not doing so would be fine to create balance though. I do, however, feel this gives her a different quality when she is being used. I also want her to be fast enough to catch runners when possible but not so fast that she is unreasonable in caster form (see Ultimate ability for better perspective). I am open to suggestions on her statistics.
Passive ability: Force and Verve-
Description: Victoria is a savant at manipulating and storing energy. Each time she hits an enemy champion with an ability or melee attack in base form, the excess energy is stored as a thaumakinetic charge. These charges deflect force, reducing the damage that Victoria takes in base form and increasing the damage that she deals in avatar form by 1% per charge (Up to 15 charges). In addition, Victoria is able to infuse herself and her spells with surrounding energy increasing her AP by 50% of her AD.
Effect: Victoria generates a thaumakinetic charge each time she hits an enemy champion with an ability. For each charge created her damage taken in base form is reduced by 1% and her damage dealt in avatar form is increased by 1%. (Maximum of 15 charges).
Purpose: This makes Victoria viable in melee combat despite her health pool. As she pushes a lane she generates more charges via poking making her more viable in one on one combat or group brawls. This means that she can be countered by trying to proxy her before she begins pushing a lane or doing so after she whiffs her ultimate. In order to get back into the fray she will have to build charges by trying to poke. It also serves as a resource when she ascends into "Avatar" form. This means that the 15% isn't a constant reduction but that like most melee combatants she can come out of a scuffle but becomes more susceptible in caster form like other AP casters. Yes this does unfortunately mean she would have weak early game and simply build momentum throughout the match (makes sense with her energy theme, right? ;P)
Notes: I am unsure as to how well the number of charges will work but I am confident it is a better alternative to the original design I had. I am still unsure of the conversion of AD to AP (or if its even necessary- as in perhaps just scale all AD? or AP? although I enjoy the thought of the mechanic similar to Corki). Damage reduction is void in avatar form and visa-versa with the damage increase mechanic in base form. I am not sure about the melee proccing her passive, I feel it could be too much however, it is also important to note that
she does not create charges in avatar form, only expends them.
Edit: Melee Paradigm (Base form)-
Ability Q: Twin Fanarang-
Description: Victoria infuses her fans with energy and hurls them forward 750 units before they circle back to her. The fans deal X physical damage to all enemies in their path. If the fans hit a target afflicted with "Spite" (See "Ability W: Spiteful Strikes") then the fan following the champion detonates, releasing "Shrapnel." ("Shrapnel" deals damage to all nearby targets (excluding the target effected) in a 175 radius.
Effect: Victoria hurls her fans forward dealing damage to all enemies in their path and also detonating upon any targets effected by "Spite" causing them to emit shrapnel.
Purpose: This ability gives Victoria a little extra AOE when combined with the "Spite" effect the ensues after "Spiteful Strikes."
Targeting: Skill shot Targets: Enemy minions and champion Range: 750 Travel: Medium-fast (Similar to Svir's "Boomerang Blade" perhaps a little slower) Cooldown: 12 seconds Mana Cost: 60/70/80/90/100
Notes: I am unsure as to the scaling of the AD still. The fans path is void if they hit a target afflicted with spite then they despawn as does the spite debuff. To capitalize on damage it is wise for victoria to wait until near the end of spites duration to attempt to detonate.
Tool Tip: Victoria hurls her fans forward like boomerangs dealing damage to all enemies in their path. If a target is afflicted with "Spite" then the second following fan will detonate in an explosion of "Shrapnel."
**Rank 1-**40 damage (+50% AD) | Shrapnel: 20 damage (+10% AD) **Rank 2-**80 damage (+50% AD) | Shrapnel: 40 damage (+10% AD) Rank 3- 120 damage (+50% AD) | Shrapnel: 60 damage (+10% AD) Rank 4- 140 damage (+50% AD) | Shrapnel: 80 damage (+10% AD) Rank 5- 160 damage (+50% AD) | Shrapnel: 100 damage (+10% AD)
Ability W: Spiteful Strikes-
Description: Victoria infuses her feather fans with energy and throws them out from herself in a spiral pattern (one goes clock wise and one goes counter clockwise while they spiral out in an expanding fashion) dealing physical damage to all enemies within a 350/450/550 radius each second respectively for three seconds. If an enemy champion remains in the effect for the full duration then they are debuffed with "Spite."
Effect: Victoria throws her fans out dealing AOE physical damage to all nearby enemies every .5 seconds for 3 seconds. Enemy champions who remain in the area of effect are afflicted with "Spite"
Purpose: This provides Victoria with an AOE that deals physical damage. With an additional effect that is meant to assist in punishing grouped up enemy champions during team fights.
Targeting: AOE (Around Victoria) Targets: Spiteful Strikes: Enemy Minions and Champions | Spite: Enemy Champions ONLY (and only if hit by the full duration) Range: 550 Travel: medium-fast (1 second delay upon activation to show graphic before rotation and damage begins) Cooldown: 12 seconds Mana Cost: 80/90/100/110/120
Spite- Victoria's fans follow the target as they slash them in a frenzied whirlwind dealing X physical damage over 6 seconds. (Upgraded when you upgrade "Spiteful Strikes"**).
Notes: Victoria can move during this ability. Spite damages enemy champions only. The detonation of spite only damages the targets around the target effected.
Rank 1- 10 per .5 seconds (+30% AD) + 20 damage over 6 seconds (+20% AD) Rank 2- 15 per .5 seconds (+30% AD) + 30 damage over 6 seconds (+20% AD) Rank 3- 20 per .5 seconds (+30% AD) + 40 damage over 6 seconds (+20% AD) Rank 4- 25 per .5 seconds (+30% AD) + 50 damage over 6 seconds (+20% AD) Rank 5- 30 per .5 seconds (+30% AD) + 60 damage over 6 seconds (+20% AD)
Ability E: Quill Barrage:
Description: Victoria rarely ever misses her mark. She throws several (4) quills in rapid succession over 2 seconds at the target's pressure points piercing through minions and dealing 20% AD with each strike in a very thin 500 range. If the 4th strike hits a champion it does 20% of her AD as true damage and paralyzes (stuns) the target briefly (she may move while casting this ability).
Effect: Victoria attempts to strike at her target several times (despite the interference of minions) dealing lower than normal attack damage 4 times in half the time it would take to attack normally (it is a channel and thusly can be interupted). If the target is struck by the fourth quill (which has a slight delay ad slight difference in animation), they are dealt *true damage to make up for the minimal damage being dealt by the other quills during the channel and they are briefly stunned.
Purpose: This attack is not meant to do a lot of damage to minions nor champions. It should be considerable at best but, the fourth strike is meant to take opponents slightly off guard, dealing a bit more damage than the rest and providing a brief stun. This stuns intention (other than the usual suspects, if she lands it), would be to, when solo fighting, provide Victoria the opportunity to switch forms (I.E. address cooldowns) and perhaps later game also get off a skill shot if you're quick. Like I said, I intend for her damage coefficients to be low so i want her secret to success to be fluidity.
Notes: As mentioned above I want this to be a _2 second- 2.5 second channel _where Victoria quickly throws 3 quills in an extravagant fashion and flourishes on the fourth after a brief delay. The stun is not meant to be significant enough to be game changing (at least not early game) but it does offer her the extra poke she requires to get back in lane if she is being proxied. It is a channel and can be interrupted although she can move and cast it (seems reasonable since she's just throwing quills). I want the range to be 500 but the path to be narrow adding an element of marksmen to her character and some difficulty in landing the stun. She will rely on this for escapes too as the cooldown will be fairly short. The quills do not penetrate champions and in fact end their path when they make contact with one.
Targeting: Skill-Shot Targets: Enemy Champions and by proxy minions (if the minions are hit first) Range: 500 Travel: Very-Fast Cooldown: 8 seconds Mana Cost: 50/60/70/80/90 Stun Duration (seconds): 1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5 second(s)
_DAMAGE_: I'll be the first to admit that i am not confident in how to mark the damage coefficients for the ranks of this skill or the skill in general. I enjoy the concept but with the true damage and the meant-to-be low coefficients, I don't want to flirt with a fine line. Perhaps replace the true damage with a mana return? Seems to me that would defeat it's purpose but I could use some help here.
Side Note: I was considering reducing the stun to a .6/.7/.8/.9/1 second(s) considering the short cooldown. Suggrestions?
Edit: Ultimate ability (R): Unleash Energy (Avatar)-
Description: Victoria infuses herself with a significant amount of stored energy, consuming 5 thaumakinetic charges to ascend into "Avatar" form. Within this caster paradigm, Victoria uses Thaumakinetic charges to unleash ranged **magic** attacks that both stun and throw enemies.
Effect: Victoria infuses herself with a significant amount of stored energy in order to ascend into "Avatar" form.
Purpose: This allows Victoria a unique set of abilities and a unique resource management system that allows her to stay in the field longer (most specifically for pushing lanes but her avatar form is ideal for team fights- the user must choose wisely when to use it). In addition, Victoria's abilities now deal magic damage.
Targeting: N/A Targets: N/A Range: N/A Travel: N/A Cooldown: 120/100/80 Cost: 5 Thaumakinetic Charges Duration: 60 seconds or Once charges reach zero Duration of paradigm shift: 60 seconds or until her last thaumakinetic charge(s) have been consumed or until canceled.
Notes: The cooldown for this ability starts upon returning to base form. You must have at least 6 Thaumekinetic charges to use it despite the 5 cost to transform. Otherwise the ability would result in an instant return transformation. Each ability she uses in Avatar form costs 1 thaumakinetic charge (This means her passive effects- be it the damage or damage reduction dissipates with each expenditure). She may cancel the form at any time however, this puts it on cooldown.
Avatar Paradigm:Caster form-
Edit: Ability Q: Focus Energy/ Detonation-
Description: Victoria condenses some energy at a targeted site creating a thaumakinetic crystal up to 800 units away. Upon reactivation of this ability Victoria releases the crystals energy causing it to detonate and deal X magical damage to all enemies within a 175 radius of the crystal and knocking them back from it. This causes the crystal to despawn.
Effect: Victoria creates a thaumakinetic crystal at a target location. Upon reactivation of this ability she detonates the crystal dealing damage to all enemies near it and knocking them back a considerable range (think a little less then Vayne's Condemn perhaps).
Purpose: This Deals area of effect magic damage and can be used to escape or put enemy champions into perilous situations.
Targeting: Focus energy: AOE | Detonation: AOE around Spawned unit Targets allowed: Focus energy: N/A | Detonation: Enemy Champions Range: Focus Energy: 800 | Detonation: (Can be activated from) 800 Area of effect: Focus energy:_ Displays_ 175 raidus (Spawns in center) | Detonation: 225 Travel speed: Focus Energy: crystal takes 1.5 seconds to manifest. | Detonation: Instant Knockback: 300-400? Cooldown: 8 seconds (Cooldown begins after detonation)
Notes: Only one crystal may be spawned at a time. crystal is untargetable. crystal consumes a thaumakinetic charge (detonation does not). crystal must be detonated or outranged to disappear. This means they must be placed wisely. The crystal provides minimal vision in an area similar to a trap. You can see champions near enough to the crystal to be effected if placed in the jungle- be aware, they can see it too.
Tool tip: Focus energy: Victoria spawns a kinetic crystal. | Detonation: Victoria releases her crystals energy dealing aoe damage and knocking targets away from it.
Rank 1- 70 Magic damage (+45% AP) Rank 2- 110 Magic damage (+45% AP) Rank 3- 140 Magic damage (+45% AP) Rank 4- 180 Magic damage (+45% AP) Rank 5- 200 Magic damage (+45% AP)
Ability W: Concussive Blast-
Description: Victoria funnels a thaumakinetic charge into a missle-like projectile that deals magic damage and **stuns** the target upon impact. If the target is already stunned then the missile's energy will clash with the existing kinetic energy and detonate on impact dealing massive damage and knocking back all enemies within a 600 radius of the target (targets knocked back are not dmaged).
Effect: Victoria launches a missile of concussive force at the target damaging them and stunning them. If the target is already stunned then the damage is significantly increased and all enemies nearby the target are knocked back.
Purpose: This provides Victoria with a heavy hitting single target magic nuke (when certain conditions are met) and more control over the battlefield.
Targeting: Click target ("Skill-less shot") Targets: Enemy champions only Range: 850 Travel: Fast (Similar to Caitlyn's ultimate (Post-delay)) Knockback: 600 Cooldown: 15 seconds Cost: 1 Thaumakinetic charge
Notes: Concussive blast does not stun targets already stunned.
Rank 1- Target not stunned: 100 damage & .6 second stun (+65% AP) Rank 1- Target Stunned: 220 damage & 600 knockback (+65% AP) Rank 2- Target not stunned: 120 damage & .7 second stun (+65% AP) Rank 2- Target Stunned: 240 damage & 600 Knockback (+65% AP) Rank 3- Target not stunned: 140 damage & .8 second stun (+65% AP) Rank 3- Target stunned: 260 damage & 600 knockback (+65% AP) Rank 4- Target not stunned: 160 damage & .9 second stun (+65% AP) Rank 4- Target stunned: 280 damage & 600 knockback (+65% AP) Rank 5- Target not stunned: 180 damage & 1.0 second stun (65% AP) Rank 5- Target stunned: 300 damage & 600 knockback (+65% AP)
Ability E: Sap Energy/ Feedback-
Description: Victoria leeches the kinetic energy from an area in a 175 radius reducing attack speed and movement speed of all enemies within the area of effect with increasing intensity over 5 seconds. (Each second develops a stacking debuff that lasts 3 seconds that stacking up to 5 times.) At the end of the channel Victoria gains a Thaumakinetic sphere that upon reactivation of this ability she can choose to lob at a targeted area. When the orb crashes to the ground any champions within the area are hit with concussive force as the energy explodes, dispersing through the area damaging and stunning enemies within a 175 radius for X seconds and dispelling their debuff if it remains.
Effect: Victoria channels and leeches energy from an area slowing enemy movement speed and attack speed over 5 seconds. Once the duration is complete she spawns a thaumakinetic sphere that she may tote around for a short period (similar to Syndra's "Force of will") which, upon reactivation of this ability, can be lobbed at an area to damage and stun enemies.
Purpose: This allows Victoria to take advantage of her concussive blast when solo fighting. lobbing it (the speed of which is similar to Nami's "aqua prison") gives the player a chance to set up for Victoria's aforementioned concussive blast. However, the enemy must first _neglect interrupting her "Sap Energy" (which is a channel) to find themselves susceptible to this secondary ability and fail to dodge the fairly slow moving sphere to be stunned in the first place. This is why this ability may be better for back-line team fight support.
Notes: Wondering if another ability in place of this one would be better to balance the kit. Open to suggestions. Tooltip changes upon completion of **sap energy.** Tool tip changes back upon use of kinetic Sphere. Cooldown of Sap _Begins after sap is finished channeling or if it is interrupted by movement, stun, use of another ability or knockback/ displacement or after sphere has been released (If you make it to the second part of the ability). Cooldown of Sphere ensues immediately after release. Sap is channeled and can be interrupted by all of the following (in case it wasn't clear): player movement, stuns, launches, silences, etc.
Side note(s): An enemy champion must be inside the AOE when it completes to form a sphere. You cannot create a sphere from minions. (open to suggestions).
Targeting: Sap: AOE (Click are to target) | Sphere: AOE (Click are to target) Targets: Sap: Enemy minions and champions | Sphere: Enemy minions and champions Range: Sap: 875 | Sphere: 875 Travel: Sap: Instant | Sphere: Medium-slow (Similar to Nami's Aqua prison) Area of Effect: Sap: 175 Radius | Sphere: 175 Radius Cooldown: Sap: 12 seconds | Sphere: 6 seconds Cost: Sap: 70/85/100/115/130 | Sphere: 1 Sphere
Rank 1- Sap: 3% reduced move/attack speed per second | Feedback/Sphere: 60 damage & 1.1 second Stun (+40% AP) Rank 2- Sap: 3.5% reduced move/attack speed per second | Feedback/Sphere: 95 damage & 1.2 second stun (+40% AP) Rank 3- Sap: 4% reduced move/attack speed per second | Feedback/Sphere: 130 damage & 1.3 second stun (+40% AP) Rank 4- Sap: 4.5% reduced move/attack speed per second | Feedback/Sphere: 165 damage & 1.4 second stun (+40% AP) Rank 5- Sap: 5% reduced move/attack speed per second| Feedback/Sphere: 200 damage & 1.5 second stun (+40% AP)
Ultimate ability (R): Absorb Energy (Paradigm Shift)-
Description: Victoria draws in any leftover kinetic energy within X units of her releasing it outward and _increasing the movement and attack speed of nearby allies by 10% for 10 seconds and returning to a stabilized form. This ability reverts Vicctoria's form but expends all of her leftover charges in the process and sets her Paradigm shift on cooldown.
Targeting: AOE around Victoria Targets: Allied champions Range: Variable (See ranks) Travel: 3 second animation (Victoria may move during it) Cooldown: 120/100/80 Duration: 10 seconds Duration of Paradigm Shift: 3 seconds total
Rank 1- 500 unit radius Rank 2- 550 unit radius Rank 3- 600 unit radius
Notes: I'm not entirely sure if the secondary effect on the paradigm shift is even necessary, I'll take some opinions on that. Nonethless if I am going to keep it should I make it more meaningful- as in a bigger buff or one based on consumed charges? I'm open to suggestions.
Final Notes: I am very new to champion creation and am working on familiarizing myself with damage coefficients, scaling, and other statistics. I would like any feedback to better the development of this character. Also there are pictures attached. I've done what I could (try not to mind any spelling or grammar mistakes). Lastly I realize that for her resource longevity her damage coefficients and scaling could very well be too high, i'm very open to suggestions. I was highly considering reducing them but I'm not sure how low is appropriate.
Edit: I'm aware that this post is only displaying one picture link and I'm unsure of how to get more to show up, I do apologize as they truly help to complete the heroes image.
Thanks in advance :)
