How can you screw up re-skins?

Let me start by saying that, yeah, I took the survey they gave us asking us if we'd like re-skins of champions. I told them yes, I would love them. But dear god, so far they all look atrocious. The only half-way redeemable ones are the Lucian ones, of course, simply because his color scheme is so damn simple that it's near impossible to screw it up.

It's like they asked us what we wanted, then they're giving it to us, but it's so bad that they might as well have just not given it at all. Does anybody else think the re-skins so far look god awful?
