Possible Udyr Visual Overhaul Ideas
I've been an Udyr main for around a year and 4 months , for as long as I've been playing the game just about. I have all Udyr skins between my 2 accounts.I think we can all agree all but 2 of Udyr's skins looks borderline like a N64 character. Most of his skins have good themes that I do not wished to be changed heavily. While the two skins he has that aren't ugly, are VERY good (defiantly not and spirit guard); the others shouldn't suffer. I want to break down some possible ideas for changes for each of Udyrs outdated skins skins that already have amazing concepts. Starting with his base skin.
Udyr's base skin should be modernized to fit his lore. Imagine if trundle's base skin was his old pre-rework trundle skin, and you had acquire frost troll trundle yourself. Same should be for udyr, im not saying make spirit guard his base skin, but maybe make his base skin have a more civilized theme. A look that would reflect that he had (or was in the process of) taming and honing the animal spirits. I think simply having a dark-shaded karate-like gi similar to the one he has now(but w/o it being all torn) is fine, but **remove the hide **having similar hair to spirit guard before the maxing of spells,hair possibly mildly changing with each stance, and his karate belt changing colors to match stance and possibly symbol on his back changing with each stance.This symbol could vary from tiger claw marks, a green shell(?), a bear paw, and fiery talon claw marks.Something of this nature
Black-belt Udyr could be a very similar concept to his base skin (like it is now)but a white Karate gi that has the sleeves ripped off and the belt would remain black and be more visible, again no hide and maybe Asian-influenced Ionian symbols on his back changing to representeach stance. The black belt skin could suggest a concept of being a sensi to others wishing to learn martial arts in Ionia.
Now primal Udyr could have pelt-like clothing and body like it already does, but** I personally** think the stance pelt-helms look a bit odd,and should be done away with. Maybe all the stances could differ in primal ways with the hairs and eyes and face paint varying from stance to stance. Primal Udyr should continue to look very feral , this is a wild Udyr that is from before the times of long meditation and exposure to civilization, possibly generations before our current day spirit walker we all know well.
I'd like to again highlight i'm not saying the rest of his skins should look to being anywhere visibly to the master-piece-ultimate-skin Spirit Guard Udyr, this represents a time in his lore to where he was fully honed from training with Ionian monks and the animal spirits could be unleashed at full. I just would like his base skin to respect his current lore and for his skins to just overall look not like it was made from on a N64 game engine.
