Champion Concept- Cervius: The Puppet Master
This post contains the story of the champion (just about everything about him) and the abilities he has (just scroll down if you're only interested in what he can do), his game play description, and stats. I will post the visual concept that I will have for him soon. If you like the concept, be sure to give it an upvote and comment your thoughts on it. I'd like to know what you all think about it.
Lore
A mysterious man with a simple goal in mind. Destroy all of humanity and replace it with a new perfect world where he intervenes as the creator. He only sees human beings as mere test subjects for his experiments and research. He was a former engineering professor at the University of Piltover, able to build robotic mechanisms of all sorts. He had once been a sensible man. Even though he was a professor of engineering, he was obsessed about learning about life and the concept of how souls sustained life in a body. He studied any living creature that could possibly carry a soul for years on end only to get nowhere. His constant failure on his life study began to drive him insane. He simply couldn't comprehend why he couldn't make any progress, until one day, he came across a book in the library. It was old, the binding had been torn in some places, the pages stained with age and probably tea of some sort. It was clear that this book had seen better days. Cervius carefully brought it to one of the reading tables to look it over. The book had been written by an alchemist from many centuries ago. Cervius had never really taken much interest in the subject of alchemy. He believed it was merely a more basic form of chemistry, but as he read through the pages and pages of research that were recorded on the brittle pieces of paper, he soon learned otherwise. Everything he had been searching for was in this single book. He took the book back to his laboratory and learned every secret that it held. Everything made sense to him now. However, he was filled with a new feeling. Not one of wonder and curiosity, but one of boredom. Now that he learned everything there is to know about human life, he had finally realized the imperfections that every living thing had. Knowing that he was a human being himself, he sought for perfection. He was bored of the world he had been living and had grown tired of the shackles that had kept him tied to every day mortality. He wanted to wipe off every imperfection that the world had and create it anew in his own vision. A perfect world free of mortality. The other professors of the university soon found out about his plans and ejected him from his place at the school and destroyed all of his research. He forced to leave. He returned home, infuriated and heartbroken. He would have to start all over. He hadn't slept in over a week, interrupting his research only to eat or use the restroom. Now it was all gone. He had taken the book with him. He tore through it once more, page after page, trying to find another way. For hours on end he read through the book until he came across something that piqued his interest. A very complicated alchemy procedure known as Soul Weaving, the act of taking the threads of a soul and sewing it into something else. He could then control anything who's soul he had weaved by the ends of the threads of their soul, like a puppet. After deciding that he would do the experiment he began to wonder who he would perform the procedure on. At that very moment, his wife, Sylvia, walks into the room. He looked at her and immediately left and went to his personal laboratory. With his knowledge in engineering, he created a marionette, only it didn't have anything to make it work. No gears, wires, or anything of the sort. It wouldn't need them. After he finished he brought his wife down into the cluttered mess of scrap metal and tools that was his lab and convinced her to lay on the examination table, which wasn't hard. Sylvia trusted her husband completely and didn't know of the research Cervius had been delving into. Cervius finished strapping her onto the table and un-buttoned her shirt. He then picked up a tool that looked similar to a sewing needle and proceeded to slowly push it into the skin over Sylvia's sternum. His wife began to cry out in pain and demanded to know what Cervius was doing. Cervius continued to push the needle under the skin and then brought poked it back through the top. As he brought the needle the rest of the way through the skin, Sylvia began to scream out in pain which eventually became desperate gasps for air. Cervius pulled the needle out of the skin and found that it had worked. The end of the needle was threaded with a strand of glowing blue string. The book had information about how to create a sewing needle with a special tip that would thread the soul of anything he put it through onto it. He began to sew the soul of his wife into the marionette exactly how the book specified it. He was almost done, a sharp pain shot through his left shoulder. Someone had stabbed him. Cervius cried out at the sudden pain and spun around to fight his attacker. He hit his assailant and the person fell back into a machine, hitting a switch and causing it to activate. A belt then snagged something of the attacker's, and the person was pulled into the gears and crushed. Cervius was confident that the machine had killed his mysterious attacker. He pulled the blade out of his shoulder and went to continue his work to find that he couldn't feel his left arm. The blade had severed a nerve connection somehow. Without two hands, Cervius would have a difficult time finishing the procedure. However, in due time, he had finally finished. He commanded the marionette to rise. The puppet immediately sat up and got off the work table. Pleased with his work, Cervius turned to the machine where his attacker had met their fate. The body was beyond recognition. He walked out of the lab to see the sun had already risen above the horizon. He came into the house to wake up his daughter for breakfast. She wasn't in her room. Cervius searched the house up and down for her. Nothing. Eventually, a thought crept up the back of his mind. He refused to believe it. However, there was no other way to be sure. He returned to the machine in his lab where his attacker had met their fate. He studied the body further to find any signs of what could characterize the body's physical traits before being entirely mangled. He looked it up and down for almost an hour and found nothing. He was about to give up until something caught his eye. Light gold strands of hair wrapped up behind the gears. The same color as his daughter's. He then found tattered pieces of clothing wrapped up in the gears as well, soaked in blood, but without a doubt, it was once been his daughter's night gown. Despair washed over Cervius like a wave of darkness encroaching from the deepest recesses of his mind. He sat there in total disbelief. He had killed his own beloved daughter. Eventually, he recollected himself. He came to the conclusion that he could bring her back somehow. She would live again. He wiped the tears from his eyes and stood to his feet. He remembered that he is a human being, that he still has imperfections. He remembered that he had a goal. A goal to create a new world, and now he would have Sylvia to help him do that. However, his first order of business would have to be bringing his daughter back into the world, and the only place that had the technology to do so was Piltover. To keep from being recognized by others he would need a disguise of some sort. Cervius scrambled together a long cape, an old masquerade style mask and his father's old formal wear that had been passed down to him. Then something else came to mind. After what had recently happened with the university knowing about his plans, they would immediately know what was happening and who was behind it once he start making his move to gather research and supplies. Cervius turned to the book once more. He thought he had read something about making a replica of a person and found that his suspicions were correct. Following the instructions the book gave, he was able to create a realistic dummy of himself, although it had no life it didn't need it anyway. He gathered all the research he needed from the old lab with the help of Sylvia, and gathered blood and hair samples from the disfigured corpse of his daughter. He wished he could give her a proper burial, but he had to leave the body as it was. He turned on the emergency explosive in the lab's security, left the building, and activated it. He watched as memories burned to the ground. He decided, however, that it was time to let go of those old memories. They were simply an imperfection that he carried. He believed that now he would feel nothing, no emotion, no pain, any more, that he would be the first perfect being in a world of imperfections. He continued with his plan, anonymously tipping off the police of an explosion at the laboratory of Dr. Cervius. The police showed up within the next ten minutes, faster than normal. The police force in Piltover is usually pretty shoddy. Something has changed it seemed. He watched as the police and fire department did their work to put out the fire and make investigations. They had found his replica, and to Cervius's pleasure, believed it was the real thing. With first phase of his plan a success, he turned to leave, when he took notice in someone below. A young girl standing along side the sheriff, about the same age as his daughter, about 15 years of age. He knew that long auburn hair and beautiful but stern complexion and even more so the rifle that he was surprised to see her carrying, as he had helped design and assemble it. Knowing her since she was only about knee high, he knew that someday she would someday make something of herself. An officer walked up to her and gave the girl a report on the scene. The girl nodded, turned and walked away. Everyone else saw the serious look she always had on her face, but Cervius made no mistake seeing the distraught in her eyes and the tears beginning to roll down her cheeks as she walked away. Cervius then noticed the wild yellow hair of a former colleague. Proffessor Cecil B. Heimerdinger, the head of the University of Piltover, must have heard the news and came to investigate for himself. After viewing the scene with his own eyes, Heimerdinger took off his goggles and ran his other hand through his hair, puzzled. He looked over the scene again and again. Something seemed to catch his eye as he stopped immediately in his tracks, put his goggles back on and calmly took his leave. Cervius needed to be going himself. So much work to do, so little time. Confident that the police had found nothing in the investigation, Cervius left the scene unnoticed. It was time to begin anew Cervius decided. He would no longer be known as Cervius, the former engineer professor at the university. That Cervius is now deceased. Died in a horrible accident in his laboratory. He no longer be known to anyone at all, but for the people that are unfortunate enough to meet him, he would be known simply as Cervius, the Puppet Master. He would soon destroy this imperfect world and create it once again where he pulls the strings. It started that night, he began to gather information, supplies, anything he needed to get his plan under way and bring his daughter back. And over time, it became easier to get the supplies all to himself, however, it had become increasingly harder to make a silent escape. Then it finally occurred to him why one night, when he was making a run for supplies for some research. It was seemingly quiet until there was a gunshot. A bullet grazed his cheek, he turned to find that fifteen year old girl again, only older now, and also the new sheriff of Piltover. He fled quickly out the window and made his escape. The presence of that girl only brought back painful memories, memories that Cervius thought he had buried, so many years ago. He swore to make the sheriff pay, and decided to torment her by nagging at her own memories by leaving behind something she recognized. His old business card. He tore off the business information from the bottom and left only the ornate C on the card. Cervius continued his work, stealing various supplies and researching on ways to bring his daughter back, however the sheriff had become too meddlesome. He decided to lead her on a wild goose chase. Eventually he travelled all across Valoran, keeping the sheriff in tow with his calling cards and gathering research along the way. With his knowledge of engineering and alchemy, he created special devices to suit his needs that were fitting for his name. Puppet strings in his sleeves shoot out and wrap around anything whether it be to pull him up out of a bad situation or entangle enemies, making it easier to make escapes. Spring loaded weapons that fire up like a jack-in-the-box and nail targets once thrown. Also a special gear that expands to enormous size and spins rapidly, very dangerous if someone were to stand too close. Sylvia had been equipped with some new toys as well. A necessary precaution. However, Cervius still craved more knowledge, and wasn't finding enough of what he was looking for. He had tried several times already to bring his daughter back. Constant failures. Six times he has tried but to no avail. Something was missing from research. He lacked the necessary components to get it right. He thought about joining the League of Legends on multiple occasions, however, it would also jeopardize one of the most powerful weapons he had, the element of unknown, as nobody knew of him. He finally decided that if he were to gather necessary knowledge and research, he is to take drastic measures. He needed to study others up close and the only way to do that was to make his presence known.

Game Play: Cervius, the Puppet Master
Cervius is a long ranged melee fighter and mage that uses weapons and contraptions to do the hard hitting for him. His basic attack uses mechanical arms that he conceals under his cloak that copy his movements when he activates them. They give him a considerable reach advantage against other melee champs and allows him to stay in the action at a safe distance. He has two ability sets, a personal kit and one that is active when Sylvia is active.
Laning
Cervius would be champ mostly likely to found in the middle lane, as he can focus more attacks on a single target, harrassing them and poking them all while staying out of reach of his opponent. With Sylvia active, he can order her to attack targets while he stays back at a safe distance and will also be able to attack a different or the same target. He has a strong farm with his personal E, Ingrannagio, and with Sylvia's W. His passive, Vivace, allows him to make surpising plays and counter attack if Sylvia is coming back after being shut down. With Sylvia active, one can make impressive combos by using her abilities accordingly. A good example would be if you activate Barra (Q) and then Libbra (Q) for a devastating combonition, slashing and pounding your enemy and then switching to Punta (W) and Trapano (W) for some devastating area damage that is hard to escape from. If your opponent is weak, you can pull off Rapsodia di Recordi (E) for heavy pressure with a full on assault of punches and blows, each one stronger than the last.
Team Fights
Cervius has some special capabilities when it comes to team fights. Using his marionette, Sylvia, he is able to stay out of harm's reach and last longer in the fights than other champs. Also he is able to attack with Sylvia and attack targets himself at the same time, although his personally abilities can't be activated until Sylvia is shut down. His ult, Vicino Tenda, is extremely powerful and can catch the other team completely off guard if they aren't paying attention. In any bad situation, Cervius' ult can turn the tides of the fight completely. If timed right, he can go into the team fight when Sylvia is nearly repaired. Once Sylvia is repaired and teleports back to Cervius, you can activate his ult and the other team may not being attention to Sylvia since she was not there before, and get caught in the devastating destruction of Cervius' ult.
Cervius Personal Abilities:
Passive: Vivace-Cervius’ and Sylvia’s health and mana/energy bars are separate from one another. If Sylvia’s health drops completely, she shuts down and enters self-repair mode for 150 seconds and Cervius’ ability set changes. When Sylvia is fully repaired, Cervius will call her back and she will immediately teleport to his side. If Cervius dies, Sylvia will automatically start heading back to base, leaving her vulnerable to enemy attacks since there is no one to control her. They both share an experience bar unlike their health and mana/energy bars.
Q: Primavera Cost: 50/65/80/95/110 Mana Range: 680 Cooldown: 17/15/13/11/9 seconds Cervius throws out a spring like contraption that fires up in the direction it is thrown, dealing damage to enemies hit in a straight line and knocking the first enemy hit back a short distance. Deals 65/75/85/95/105(+70% of ability power) and knocks back first enemy hit 200 units.
W: Avvolgere Cost: 70 Mana Range: 1,000 Cooldown: 20/18.5/17/15.5/14 Cervius fires puppet strings from inside his sleeve out an enemy. The strings will wrap around the first enemy it encounters and slow them. If the enemy is close enough when the strings first wrap, the hold on the enemy will be strong enough to allow Cervius to pull them closer to him. If he successfully pull the target within a certain range, the strings will root the target. Cervius fires puppet strings from his sleeve. If they encounter an enemy, they will wrap around the enemy and slow them by 40/45/50/55/60% for 3 seconds. If the enemy encountered is within 500 range, Cervius will pull them and root them if they get pulled within 100 range.
E: Ingrannagio Cost: 70/85/100/115/130 Mana Range: 850 Cooldown: 27/24/21/18/15 Cervius throws out a small gear the begins to spin when thrown to target location. As it spins, it begins to grow to an enormous size and deals damage to enemies that are standing too close to the gear. After reaching full size, it will return to normal and come back to Cervius. Cervius throws out a small gear the will begin to spin and grow for 5 seconds. after reaching a target location. Enemies standing in the gear's spin zone will be dealt 25/38/51/64/77 (+30% of ability power) damage per second. After 1 second of reaching full size, the gear will shrink to normal and return to Cervius.
R: Vicino Tenda Cost: 100/300/500 Mana Cast Range: Self Ability Range: 2,000 Cooldown: 90/85/70 Can only be used if Sylvia is active. Cervius gives Sylvia a voice command that activates a time bomb in her chest and begins to count down from 5 to 0. Any enemy within the gigantic radius of the blast will receive decimating amounts of damage. More damage is dealt to enemies closer to the center of the blast than towards the outside and are thrown back a much larger distance. The explosion will cause Sylvia to shut down and go into self-repair mode for twice as long as normal. Cervius gives Sylvia a voice command when she active which turns on a time bomb in Sylvia. After 5 seconds, bomb will explode, dealing damage to any enemy within 2,000 range dealing a maximum 300/500/700 (+100% of ability power) at the center and minimum 100/300/500 (100% of ability power) at the edge of the blast zone and knocking enemies back a maximum of 2,500 units at the center and a minimum of 250 at the edge of the blast zone. After the explosion Sylvia will shut down 300 seconds.
Sylvia’s ability set:
Sylvia will only basic attack targets when ordered to. If Cervius were to select someone to basic attack, Sylvia would move ahead at the target first, allowing Cervius to attack other targets at the same time. Abilities: Sylvia doesn’t use mana for her abilities, but uses energy, meaning that her using abilities doesn’t affect Cervius’ mana at all.
Q: Barra/Libbra Cost: 30 Energy/50 Energy Range: 800 Sylvia will swing her arm upward, slashing an target enemy with her blade like fingers. If activated again, she will bring her arm back down and pound the target with her fist, dealing a small amount of damage to enemies surrounding the target. Sylvia swings her arm and slashes a target enemy, dealing 30/50/70/90 damage (+75% of ability power). Sylvia will then have 1 second after completing the action to activate the ability again. If activated again, Sylvia will bring her fist back down on the target, dealing 45/65/85/105/120 damage (+75% of ability power)
W: Punta/Trapano Cost: 60 Energy/20 Energy Sylvia turns her fingers into spikes and extends her arms out. Her fingers will fire forward and deal damage to all enemies that are within range and retract back into her hands. If activated again, the spikes will spin and drill all enemies caught by the spikes for extra damage before retracting. Sylvia turns her fingers into spikes. Her fingers extend rapidly forward and deal 70/80/90/100/110 (+90% of ability power). She will have 1 second to activate the ability again. If activated, the spikes spin and drill all enemies caught in the spikes, dealing an extra 20/40/60/80/100 damage (+85% of ability power).
E: Rapsodia di Recordi Cost: 200 Energy Sylvia expires all of her energy into one powerful combination of attacks. She dashes forward at a target champion, ramming into them and stunning them. She then unleashes a devastating series of punches, following the main target and dealing damage to all enemies in her path. Sylvia uses all of her energy for a huge series of attacks and dashes towards, rams into, and stunning a target champion for 0.5 seconds as well as dealing 50/55/60/65/70 damage (+35% of ability power). She then punch at the target champion for 6/7/8/9/10 seconds, following them wherever they go. The first punch deals 70/80/90/100/110 damage (+75% of ability power). If a punch lands directly after another, it will do 7% more damage than the last.
