League Novella (rough draft)

I've had an idea for a League of Legends novella for a long time. This is only the first chapter, but I plan to post more over time. For now, I just wanted to see what people thought of the intro and general plot. If you like it, please leave a comment, and let me know what you liked or didn't like.

The overall plot is this: Various warriors from throughout Valoran have come to Zaun searching for an ancient Shuriman artifact that may be some sort of weapon. Behind the scenes, a mysterious trickster named Loden plots with Xerath to bring the 4 parts of the artifact together. No one is safe from Loden's puppetstrings.

The first chapter bounces around a lot, introducing most the main characters, but typically chapters will only focus on one or two characters. The main focus for this first story (assuming there will be more) will be Garen, Sivir, Poppy, and Kat. The long-term plan I have in mind would span a couple novellas, each focusing on a different set of champs, with the others coming and going, as they're all caught up in the same craziness. Sivir and Poppy would be the only consistent focal points.

There are a few fun themes I've tried to include in each champion's sections. Everyone has their own little joke or quirk. For example, Poppy's chapters are never told from her own perspective because she's still completely oblivious to her own role in saving the world. Sivir constantly has Nasus and Azir's voices in her head. She resents always being reminded of their lectures, but their advice is always right and she hates that even more. There are plenty of others, but I won't list them all.

I have a pretty grand story planned, and if people seem to like it, I'll continue to post. If not, I'll probably still write it for fun as a side-project. Anyway, thanks for reading this mountain of text, I hope you enjoy my story.
