How to make Dominion popular again.

It is no secret that no one plays Dominion as much as ARAM or TT, or SR. And Riot won't update it since it is so unpopular. After seeing Overwatch in action I came to a conclusion on how to make it better. Be able to switch champions during the game. I don't know the technical limitations for this but it could make Dominion even more popular, maybe more than SR. The balance part could involve banning certain champions and then having the team picking a pool of champs to be able to switch to. The switch will happen after respawning and there can be multiple champs out at once the time limit might need to be changed along with score but it might work. If the enemy team all pick Trynd and kill you all squishy team you could be like "Fuck it" and pick all Rammus, or go all Rammus, Malphite and Taric. This would keep the action alive and the game won't be decided in champion select. And maybe if it gets popular enough we can get a ranked mode out of it.

Dominion's issues lie less with Dominion itself and more about players not willing to give it a fair shot.

I gave it a fair shot it got boring after the enemy team started to snow ball. Capture based game modes allow changing of weapons and classes so why not apply that to Dominion as well

Because League doesn't work the same way as a capture-based FPS like Overwatch or TF2. Character progression through items and skills is about evolving gameplay as the game progresses -- in almost all capture-based FPSs the goal is about picking the right team composition at any given moment, and it's balanced by the enemy having the same pool to choose from at any given time.

League is about the fantasy of gaining power as a single character, and adapting your team's strategy to defeat your opponent's team strategy. It doesn't work well with character-shifting, especially since item builds would have to adjust as well.

I don't think the rules on SR apply to Dominion which is so different from the other modes. I'm not saying change SR I just asking to change an unpopular game mode, or even add one like TF2. With a few changes to items and starting lvls I'm sure it can work out. Plus there is still strategy in TF2 and Overwatch similar to league going against team comp. This can work by making Dominion work like TF2 instead of just leaving it to rot the way the game mode is now

My point is that, short of a major redesign of the champions THEMSELVES, League characters are not suited to TF2 style strategy, gameplay, OR game flow, be it on Treeline, Summoner's Rift, or Dominion. The unfortunate fact of the matter is that Riot doesn't have the manpower or bandwidth to do a complete Dominion overhaul of that scale, especially given how underplayed the game mode is...and the fact that their main game (SR) is popular enough that it really isn't necessary to expand outward with other game modes at this time.

Maybe in a featured game mode.

Dominion just needs to be changed to another map, then remove the dominion game mode and just use the new map to make a new game mode
