Champion Concept: Stella, the Cosmic Force
Okay so I've never really made a champion concept before but I'd like to give it a shot. So here goes nothing. **I'll be adding stats per rank soon! ** Name: Something space-related, like "Stella" or "Orbia". I'm gonna go with Stella for now. **Theme: **Planets, space, but mostly the force of gravity. Role: A support/mage type that excels at utility. High skill-ceiling and outside-the-box gameplay, like Bard or Orianna. Lore: A celestial deity similar to Bard or Kindred, except she has more personal business with the world of the mortals. Rather than being a force of balance like Bard, or a force of death like Kindred, she is a force of... well, force. The embodiment of gravity and power in all things, big and small, she grants her aid to anybody that needs a little push in the right direction. She is the being that creates the imbalances that Bard strives so hard to fix; if someone needs a little extra oomph to win that battle or a little more energy to survive a deadly attack, she's there, lending her abilities. In order for beings of balance to have a purpose, there must be a being that creates imbalances in the first place. Some cultures call her "luck", others call her "skill". Whatever name she holds, she's there to ensure your victory (or the enemy's).
Stats: In general, Stella is a very squishy champion that, ironically, needs to rely on her ADC for protection while she in turn protects them (similar to a Kalista/support scenario). Her health and defense is on par with Kog'Maw and she doesn't scale with any defensive or health stats very well at all. This is to balance her potentially game-breaking power she has if left unchecked. Stella is meant to be a very difficult champion to play, and has a high skill ceiling. In a mid-lane scenario, Stella will have to play very safely if she wants to survive early game due to her innate squishiness.
Abilities: Passive: Tip the Scales Stella gains a stack of Luck for every ally champion near her. Each stack of Luck grants bonus armor pen for her and any ally granting her the Luck stack. For every enemy near Stella she gains a stack of Skill. Each stack of Skill reduces her movement speed and armor. Each stack is capped at 2 stacks each.
Q: Gravity Well Active: Shoots a sphere of light to the target location, where it remains for 3 seconds. The sphere does minor magic damage to all enemies in it's path. Gravity Well does not affect ultimate abilities or any non-skillshot abilites. Passive: While a Gravity Well is on the field, all enemy skillshots arc towards it, as if being pulled by it. However, this can be harmful to your team since you can accidentally arc an enemy ability towards them.
W: Orbital Reverse Stella places a Way Marker around her body that points in the target direction. This is visible to only Stella and her teammates (at first). Stella uses gravity to send an enemy's ability in a target direction, taking 1/2 of its total damage in the process, calculated before resistances. This is a toggle/directional ability. You press W, click in the direction you want to send the next ability, and it becomes a passive buff for 7 seconds before going on cooldown. If an enemy skillshot or projectile hits you in the interim 7 seconds, it is sent in the direction you clicked when you toggled the ability on, marked by the Way Marker. You can still very much die from this if you don't have enough health. If you die when the ability hits you it is sent in a random direction instead of your chosen direction. Orbital Reverse does not affect ultimate abilities or non-skillshot abilities. Any ability redirected by Orbital Reverse becomes a Neutral Ability that can hit anyone on the field, allies or enemies. The original caster of the ability only receives 1/4 damage from the re-directed ability, calculated after resistances. When activated by an ability, the Way Marker becomes visible to everyone on the field.
E: Asteroid Field Stella scatters star dust in a target area, slowing enemies that walk through it. If a Gravity Well (Q) is cast within range of Asteroid Field, it will move towards the Gravity Well, slowing all enemies in its path.
**R: **Black Hole Passive: Stella can select any spot on the map (save anything behind the enemies Nexus Turrets) for use in her ultimate ability. This spot is called the "Event Horizon" and is marked by a black sphere that all players can see. There is no effect on any players that go near the Event Horizon nor is Stella granted vision in that area. The cooldown for the placement of the Event Horizon is a flat 3 minutes.
Active: Stella can select any champion or projectile/skillshot within range and send it to the Event Horizon, where they will continue their previous action. If it is a skillshot it will continue in the opposite of the originally fired direction when it exits the event horizon. All champions that exit the Event Horizon receive a Homestart buff and are silenced for 10 seconds. Stella is connected to the Black Hole, so she loses a percentage of her max health if an ability is sent through it, based on how much damage it would've done to her if it hit her. If a champion is selected, they are instantly transported to the Event Horizon. Black Hole can also be placed on the field, and the first ability that hits it is will be sent through to the Even Horizon. Champions will not be sent if they walk over Black Hole if it is placed on the field, and only one ability can enter Black Hole before it goes on cooldown.
**Gameplay: **Stella can slow down enemies with Asteroid Field, then follow them with it with a Gravity Well if they have an escape or flash up. She can also cover an ally's tail when facing global ult champs like Jinx or Ashe with a well timed Black Hole (even if she dies in the process).. However if she's not careful she can kill an ally if they're near the Event Horizon when the ult exits it. Gravity Well can take a lot of pressure off of an ally or even help them escape if placed behind them, but like Black Hole it must be placed carefully or you could arc an enemy ability right into one of your teammates. Orbital Reverse can be extremely valuable when trading with an enemy one on one. However, the enemy can see what direction you're going to send their ability via the Way Marker and can use that to kill allies or secure objectives. Her passive means that Stella is at her most powerful (and squishiest) during teamfights and must be protected if she wants to survive.
**Design: **A dark-skinned woman with orbital rings around her, each one has a small planet or satellite orbiting it. She floats, and has short cropped hair. Her clothing also has a galaxy underlay to it, similar to Kassadin's void blade. In general, an ethereal yet powerful figure.
What do you guys think? I want lots of ideas and constructive criticism please!
