Viktor "Join the glorious dance dance revolution"

A while back I posted a skin idea for an Arcade or "Disco" Viktor skin idea. After looking around I found people had similiar ideas and thought I would share some of the fanart people have made of it! While it may sound like a silly idea at first I think it fits very well. Viktor is a very serious character, and I like that about him, but I feel like he could use a more lighthearted skin. Arcade fits very well with its old school video game type feel due to Viktor being, well, technology based. With all of the arcade skins being themed after certain style of game, I think it would be cool if arcade viktor was themed after a dance dance revolution game, hence the quote at the top.

Q: It could be a pixelated type record disc, that comes out of a record player type device somewhere around his shoulder or resting atop his pimp staff

W: I picture it as a giant dance pad, that when enemies are stunned inside of it it makes them dance.

E: I couldnt think of much than this other than a strobe light type laser.

R: The main ability should be a GRAND DISCO BALL! It flies around shocking people with assorted colors of strobe lights and could even play music while active.

I think a cool touch that could be implemented in this skin would be a rename to the augments. Imagine them being named: Augment: Funk Augment: Groovy Augment: Hip

I think this would be hilarious!

This is an amazing picture by an amazing artist! I think it captures the feel of a arcade themed viktor perfectly. Reminds me of daft punk in a way.

@Flay and Pray thanks for linking back to my blog! It means a lot. I'm happy that other people find my drawings interesting! And thank you for making this thread. It's not your first one for Arcade Viktor, am I right? I was also the one who posted that stupid Disco Viktor drawing on one of the earlier threads. You actually inspired me to go through with these drawings, because earlier, I didn't think anyone would like such a skin.

I have to say that I agree with you when it comes to the reasons for this skin. Viktor is a serious character with a lot of depth to him, and exactly because of that, he could use one light-hearted skin. Arcade would come to this spot perfectly, not only because the Machine Herald is a technologically based character, but also because his personality could be compared to a video-gamer, fixed on a goal, with a bit of self-centeredness to him.

Another thing I wanted to ask, since I'll be doing more drawings of this skin, what would you all like to see? Example: the head-phones, go, or no-go? etc.

No problem! It would be fantastic if you continued your drawings. Your groovy viktor wasn't dumb at all! I was more so a different take on the skin, I just prefer a more digital and arcade themed skin. If you were to continue the pictures, which I would LOVE, I have a couple of personal suggestions that I feel would make it feel more viktor!

  • The laser hand is a great idea but with holding the joystick, where would the laser come from?

  • I really like the headphones and feel like they should stay, biggest critique I currently have would be to make his face looks a bit more different than the base one.

  • I'm assuming the record disc on his staff is where his q would come from and I LOVE IT!

  • I would have to suggest is give the cape some sort of pattern based off of whatever he is themed off of.

  • When making a skin idea like this the biggest thing is to base him off of an old game we can relate to, for example arcade misfortunes theme was duck hunt. I think Viktor could be themed with some Dance Dance Revolution and Space Invaders!

Overall I love the pictures so far and hope you continue to inspire the glorious evolution!

I'm gonna be blunt, here, and say that I may have initially viewed this skin as a clubbing skin. He genuinely looks like he's gone to DJ somewhere or something. :P

  • Head Phones rock. I particularly love the head bobbing effect. I think, if this were to become a skin, the head bobbing should be a constant feature (maybe one could barely hear the beat of the music playing in said head phones as he walked? Though this is not entirely relevant to your drawings or .gif head-bobs. :P
  • I love the the sleek tint on his metal, which now seems to - omitting the Huge metal shoulderpad - instead be a designer jacket. Maybe some zaun/acolyte/Viktor logos would be worth adding into the mix, as well as an emphasis on the 'designer' aspect of the whole outfit. If the emphasis is more on arcade-y stuff,
  • He could use a tint or an aura. Lighting effects as a result of his glowsticks and - in particular - his mask.

Ability Idea!!

That Joystick in his 3rd hand? Double it as a projector. When he shoots his laser, A 2d village of laughing dancing people can be projected over the zone of influence. When augmented? The secondary explosion ENGULFS the poorly animated village in fire and chaos!! Muahahahahaha!

Though maybe that's a little too evil. :P

Yeah, my first iteration of this skin was actually "DJ Viktor, in the Rift!" xD Yes, I like the head-phones too! With the Vs on each side; Logos would be awesome, I'd just have to design them. Glowing effects should definitely be part of the skin. And I just don't know whether the Chaos storm should be a disco ball in the middle or a colour globe that rotates and fires multi-coloured lightning.

Also, I don't know if you guys are interested, but I'm currently making a comic about Viktor - from his point of view :P

I'd love to see a comic that painted Jayce as the egotistical & paranoid villain we all know he secretly is. The Jayce lore was a travesty, and, with enough hype, I daresay such a comic could have a tangible effect on the eventual lore edits that'll hit he and Viktor when the time comes.

I like the idea of lights shooting out in all directions when VIk uses his ulti. Maybe work in some DDR arrows dropping down? :P

I genuinely hope that the concept picks up some momentum. Love Viktor, but the guy needs more skins! I still have dreams where Dark Harvester is finally released; decked out in spiky metal and bioorganic tissue, dropping chaos storms made from churning buzzsaws.... drool

Also I want melee Viktor Augments. There really should be a Viktor department focused entirely on Viktor skins and upgrades, don'tchya think? :P

Great idea! for the E, it could fire a line of those coloured arrows you see in dancing games, and explode with neon lights.

For the q's second fire, it could create a rainbow explosion with a sound effect based on viktor's current augment (funk, groovy, hip) and play a random sound effect for perfect hex core.

I want but sadly the Arcade skins are for the lanes, but I think Viktor could go top and rule up there maybe if so then THIS NEEDS TO BE DONE!!!

RIOT DO THIS SKIN! Q_Q As a Viktor main, I think this is just PERFECT, I love that cool art and the concept itself (I thought some time ago that this kind of skin would be really funny for him, but I'm a lazy ass and I don't have as much skill as to do something so amazing as this the author did xD) and also, poor Viktor is in this situation about skins:

  • 2 skins when he was released (Full Machine and Prototype, being the last one now Legacy)
  • Creator Viktor (that was done I think long ago enough for Viktor to have a new skin)
