Warren, the Lawmaker of Demacia
Warren, the Lawmaker of Demacia
This is an idea of what he should look like. White hair to show age, sword, and wearing Demacian colors: http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag47/Lutzburg/paladin_mckell_by_smexyheroes-d4ir6wt_zpsxmpklpzj.jpg
Lore: Warren Crownguard, father of Garen and Lux Crownguard, serves as the lawmaker of Demacia. In addition to lawmaking, he also has mastery in magic and physical might as evident in his children’s inherent skills. As a loyal and wise Demacian, Warren was appointed the prestigious role of grand legislature of Demacia by King Jarvan. Warren's wisdom that he has acquired over the years also made him qualified for the job. He has also collected magical artifacts over the years some of which he uses in battle. Warren isnt afraid to use his mastery in magic and might to enforce the laws he makes. The rest of the lore will be added later. Help me out and give me some ideas guys!
Role: Fighter Auto attack Range: Melee 175 (Uses a sword) Secondary Bar: Charge (Abilities have no cost)
Passive: Cape of Nullification: Warren’s near weightless magical cape generates a charge every time Warren uses an ability. At maximum charge (10 charges), the cape glows (As an indicator of the passive just like banshees veil's white circle indicator) and the next enemy champion ability that hits Warren becomes nullified by Warren’s magical cape (Think of the Banshees Veil passive) and consumes all 10 charges. While having at least 5 charges, Warren takes 5% reduced damage.
This passive can stack with
to nullify up to 2 abilities.
Q: Dauntless Dash: Warren dashes 400 units and gains +25% AD on his next auto attack within 3 secs. If he dodges an enemy skillshot or ground targeted ability with this ability, this ability’s cooldown gets refunded. While Warren is dashing, there will be a linear indicator behind Warren and if an enemy skillshot misses Warren and meets the indicator, then it will count as a dodge. There is no maximum stack. The enhanced auto attack works on turrets.
Cooldown: 12/ 11.25/ 10.5/ 9.75/ 9 secs. Linear indicator range: 400/ 450/ 500/ 550/ 600
W: Lawmaker’s Mark: After a 3 sec delay, Warren casts an AOE circle spell with him at the center dealing magic damage and marking all enemies within the radius for 3.5 secs. When Warren auto attacks an enemy with the mark, the mark is consumed and he deals bonus physical damage and slows them for 2 secs. If his allies auto attack an enemy with the mark, the mark is consumed and the marked target is slowed for 2 secs. Warren can move, use abilities, and auto attack during the channel and the channel cannot be interrupted.
Damage: 40/ 60/ 80/ 100/ 120 (+60% AP). Bonus Physical Damage: 10/ 20/ 30/ 40/ 50 (+5/ 10/ 15/ 20/ 25% AD). Slow: 40/ 42/ 44/ 46/ 48%. Cooldown: 16/ 15/ 14/ 13/ 12 secs. Radius: 400.
E: Rush Head Butt: Warren thrusts his head a short distance, 100 units, to his target and head butts his target (with his magical helmet that prevents recoil damage) dealing magic damage. If Warren head butts within a 60° cone in front of the target's face, the target is stunned. This ability is targeted.
Damage: 60/ 95/ 130/ 165/ 200 (+70% AP). Cooldown: 12/ 11/ 10/ 9/ 8. Stun duration: .75/ 1/ 1.25/ 1.5/ 1.75 secs.
R: Demacian Immunity: Upon activation, Warren gains the following temporarily:
- Each of Warren’s auto attacks generates 2 charges of his passive.
- Warren gains a shield that absorbs incoming damage. Each ability that hits Warren while the shield is still active generates a charge of Warren's passive.
- When this ability's duration is over or when the shield is destroyed (whichever happens first), all debuffs affecting Warren are removed.
Shield Strength: 200/ 300/ 400 (+125% Bonus AD). Duration: 4/ 5/ 6 secs. Cooldown: 100/ 80/ 60 secs.
Useful stats to build:
- AD or Hybrid AD/AP
- Some attack speed
-

Champions that Warren counters:

Playing as Warren: Warren can be played in the midlane where mainly skillshot reliant champions are played (Zed, Vel’Koz, Yasuo, Corki, etc). Assuming you’re going against a skillshot reliant champion, try your best to predict their skillshots so you can dodge with your Q (Kind of like Fiora's W Riposte). Pay close constant attention because if they use a skillshot again, you can reactivate Q and stack the enhanced auto attack bonus. If you accumulated some stacks, try to auto attack your opponent to do some damage or just last hit a minion. By mastering the Q, you can inflict 225% AD on your next auto attack, possibly a one shot, assuming you dodge one skillshot from each enemy with Q.
By using the Q effectively, you should be able to generate some passive charges from Q alone and fill the rest with your other abilities. Try to wait for maximum stacks to engage so your opponent’s first ability that manages to hit you becomes nullified, kind of like Yasuo’s shield passive except for some minor differences.
If you’re using Q effectively, try to use it to reposition yourself in front of and facing your opponent to inflict the stun from the E. The E has a limited angle to land the stun successfully so repositioning yourself is important.
If you’re confident that the Q E will work, try to channel the W before engaging so it can activate when you stun your opponent with E and use your enhanced auto attack to inflict damage and consume the mark from W to deal even more damage and slow them right after the stun.
If you feel that your opponent is strong or you’re in a gank or need to chase or in a team fight, use the ult for the extra tankyness. If used properly, the W and ult can be very useful in teamfights.
Even if your opponent isn’t heavy in AP but very reliant on their abilities, try to build Banshees Veil anyway so you can nullify up to 2 abilities in a teamfight. It's one of those unique item interactions like Morgana and Zhonyas Hourglass.
Warren can also be played top because of his mobility and natural tankyness with his ult. While dueling, Warren's ult can possibly negate certain abilities of
or
or any other debuff heavy champion.
Sounds cool? Comment if you can come up with more counters to or by Warren or better items to buy on this champion or more things to add to the lore! I'm looking forward to some comments or critiques or suggestions!
