Maine - The Emulation of Vanity

Preferred Role: Mage Preferred Lane: Middle Lane


Quick Background:

A woman who lost everything and became bitter and jealous of the world. She sought advice from the only person she could trust: Herself. She confessed and confided her doubts with the mirror, unaware that the looking glass was magical. The reflection in the mirror became sentient, and despised the world for everything the woman was telling her. When the woman had confided so much that there was nothing left to say, the mirror shattered into thousands of pieces and from it emerged a mirror image of the woman. That same creature - born of magic and endless hatred for the world - left with the woman to exact revenge on the unfairness of the world.


Innate Ability - Alter Image

Passive: Every 12 seconds, Maine creates an Alter Image that shadows her footsteps. When a missile, lock-on or skillshot, comes within 100 range of Maine, her Alter Image steps into the path of fire and takes the shot. After taking the shot, the Alter Image will intercept all non-ability-based missiles that are targeting Maine for 1.25 seconds before shattering into glass and going on cooldown.

Cooldown: 12/10/8/6 seconds at levels 1/6/11/16.


First Ability - Rippling Effect

Active: Maine fires out a reflective shockwave in a 60 degree cone that is 500 range long, dealing 60/105/150/195/240 (+70% Ability Power) magic damage and slowing all enemies hit by 20/25/30/35/40% that decays over 2.0 seconds.

Any Alter Images fire shockwaves in a nova around themselves that is 500 range large. Every wave after the first deals 30% damage. This includes Alter Images from Alter Image, Dancing Reflection, and Hall of Mirrors.

Cooldown: 9/8.5/8/7.5/7 seconds. Mana Cost: 80/75/70/65/60 mana.


Second Ability - Mirrorwall

Passive: Maine can store up to two charges of Mirrorwall. Stores a charge of Mirrorwall every 32/28/24/20/16 seconds, and it is affected by cooldown reduction.

Active: Maine fabricates a wall of glass at a location that is 250/275/300/325/350 units wide and 25 units thick. The wall is Camouflaged and can be detected when enemies approach within 250 range. If the wall intercepts a missile-attack or missile-ability from an enemy champion, the wall will shatter and absorb the impact. The wall has 1 health otherwise.

If Maine fires a Rippling Effect into the Mirrorwall, the shockwave will bounce off the wall and continue on, increasing it's damage by 40%, increases the slow by 25%, and increases the shockwave's velocity by 25%. If an empowered Rippling Effect strikes an additional wall after the first, everything is only increased by 10% every time it bounces.

Striking the wall with a Rippling Effect reveals it for 2 seconds before it goes invisible again.

Cooldown: 4/3.5/3/2.5/2 seconds. Mana Cost: 20 at all ranks.


Third Ability - Dancing Reflection

Active: Maine target's an enemy or location. She swaps out herself for an Alter Image, turning Camouflaged for up to 7/7.5/8/8.5/9 seconds. The Alter Image moves towards the chosen location or target, gaining movement speed the longer it stays alive. Only this Alter Image can be targeted by enemy basic attacks. If the Alter Image reaches 150 range of the target point, it will shatter outwards to deal 80/120/160/200/240 (+55% Ability Power) magic damage to all enemies within 250 range. If the Alter Image moves beyond 650 range of Maine, the image will explode on the spot.

There is a swapping animation that takes 0.25 seconds, and it is visible to those within sight range. If the Alter Image explodes before you become visible, you can cast Dancing Reflection again while invisible to create another Alter Image at your location that can be commanded identically to the first mirror image - however, you do drop out of Camouflage in doing so.

Cooldown: 18/16/14/12/10 seconds. Mana Cost: 60/55/50/45/40 mana.


Ultimate Ability - Hall Of Mirrors

Active: Maine target's an area 500 units in radius, summoning 5 Alter Images of herself at the edges of the area of effect. After a 0.25 second delay, all five Alter Images dash towards the center of the area of effect, colliding with enemies along the way. If an Alter Image collides with an enemy champion. they shatter into pieces and deal 150/225/300 (+90% Ability Power) magic damage to the enemy champion. Being hit by additional shattering Alter Images after the first deals 25/40/55 (+7.5% Ability Power) additional magic damage (Maximum of 250/385/520 (+120% Ability Power) magic damage). If any Alter Images reach the center of the area of effect, they shatter and fall to the ground to no effect.

Cooldown: 100/85/70 seconds. Mana Cost: 100/90/80 mana.

Passive: It's an interesting passive, but 0.75 is pretty short. to be fair and efficient maybe 3-4 seconds? enough for another attack or spell to be blocked? for simplicity she get's an "After image" stack, stacks last 3-4 seconds, and summons an after image that absorbs 70% on incoming damage for any source. so example she won't absorb DOT already inflicted on your champion, just everything else after.

Q - it's an okay ability. How about adding "If an enemy unit is killed, adds 1 stack of "After image", each stack adds 1 additional second to duration." or something around that synergy with her passive.

W - an invisible wall-like area? doesn't offer much counter play, Stealth/camouflaged at least maybe? by itself it does nothing?

E - Seems interesting, would work with the "After image" stacks idea, since it technically don't last long. so does that mean she can more than one instance of an after image?

R- Another interesting ability.

I think overall you need to explain in detail the rules and mechanics of your "After image"
