I assume he was human back when he was emperor of Shurima, so what brought him back as an animal? Were Nasus and Renekton human at one point too? Or does the Ascension ritual turn people into furries after some point of time? Or maybe I'm wrong, and the people of Shurima were all born furries and eventually evolved into skinnies like boomerang lady Sivir.

What would Xerath have been? A kitty? A mage-kitty, with super blasty powers and broken hitboxes?

In the new lore all champions you mentioned appear to have been human at one time.

As for the choice of animal they are just sticking to the egyptian god theme. I'm not sure about you, but I wouldn't call the egyptian gods furries.

Like red says. Shurima is Egyptian themed.and the four most well known gods are ra(azir) sobek(renekton) anubis(nasus) and bastet(not a champ yet). I for one find the idea cool. And so what if he a bird? He a scary BA bird. An calling them furries is lame of u. That just shows u have an issue with furries. Even though they cool too. But anyways. It's a magical world. Things are magical. Let them stay magical. Magic is fun. So says magical kratos aka Ryze lol
