It's such a nice skin and the purple balls don't look good with her at all. I'm assuming they might still be purple because red is used as an indicator for an enemy Syndra's balls, in which case I think you could just make the particles white and red or something instead.

It might look better if instead of changing the balls, they changed the outfit so it matched better with the purple. I agree it does clash a bit.

err... but the whole point is that its supposed to be red, like a diamond suit. don't lump me in with those whiners, I love 750 skins. I just think this has the potential to be more.

Syndra currently only has 975 skins so we wanted to create a skin for her that didn't require any particle changes. The addition of the purple panels in her outfit are there to match the skin to her base particles. If you guys still feel like the particles are clashing we can look into adjusting the outfit.
As of now we have no plans to add any new particles to Queen of Diamonds Syndra.

But I personally enjoy the octahedrons that "Noctes setcoN" proposed. (With the red particles) This skin is really gorgeous, but it would highly benefit of red + octahedrons.

I don't think there's a way that this skin can reasonably keep the Original Orbs and still maintain it's "Queen of Diamonds" name. "Queen of Clubs" possibly, since the Clubs logo is made out of three circles, but not Diamonds.

We generally don't start out with a price tier in mind, unless it's a 750. Once we have an idea we think about what elements are needed to fulfill that skin fantasy. For example Project: Yasuo - he needed futuristic particles, sounds, and VO processing to fulfill that fantasy. Not every skin we create needs that level of work, the needs of each skin are evaluated individually.
With 750's specifically we design skins that will need little to no particle work. So from the ideation phase we are thinking about designing around the base particles.

I think that's the elephant in the room. Queen of Diamonds Syndra doesn't feel like she was designed around her base particles. The white+red of the outfit doesn't mesh at all with the purple+black of her default particles. You could maybe get away with a Queen of Clubs Syndra, since clubs are made out of three circles and are black, but Queen of Diamonds? Not a good fit.
But now people have a taste for the Queen of Diamonds Syndra, and the model looks really good! (seriously, huge props to the artists who made the model!) So from a consumer perspective, we can see the vision of the Queen of Diamonds, and want the Queen of Diamonds, not the Red/White Queen of Purple/Black Balls.

I've said it in other threads and I'll say it again - A Q particle is just as essential to a Syndra skin as a new Tibbers model is to an annie skin
Since Syndra's Q creates an object, for the purpose of skin pricing you can consider Syndra's Q as a model and not a particle, especially since Q is the entire basis of her kit.
Lulu Made Me Big4 votesI don't think you should take the approach of dumbing down a great skin just to make it match the particles. The particles need to be changed to come up to par with the skin. When it comes down to it as a consumer I would rather buy a 975 skin that has an overall theme and concept that work well together. I wouldn't spend 750 rp for a skin that has base particles that clash with the look and feel of the champ.
Asterid3 votesI think the biggest issue is that nothing about Syndra really sells the fantasy of "Queen of Diamonds". Morde makes sense as the king of clubs, Ezreal makes sense as the Ace of Spades, and of course Shaco makes sense as the Wild Card. :)
But not Syndra. Conceptually, Syndra as the Queen of Diamonds kinda feels forced. :(
Is there any way to reinforce the "Queen of Diamonds" theme without calling for a tier change? Maybe diamond shaped auto attacks? Order of the Banana Soraka got a new attack animation particle and stayed a 750 skin.

I understand where you're coming from but I still can't agree. As an artist (I'm assuming you're part of the skin team) wouldn't you like to see your work in the best state possible? I'm sure another idea will come down the line that fits a 750 tier with no particles, but this one really isn't it. A few patches of purple on her robes doesn't really justify keeping the base particles.
I'll rest my case here, I'll just be kinda salty if she doesn't get it lol

From a customers perspective I will not be buying this skin if it does not get a particle change and nor will a lot of the people that I know. If you're not interested in marketing and only have interest in make more plentiful crap skins then so be it.

Im sorry but im not a big fan of the whole 750rp line. I'd rather pay for a quality i can represent with pride (see PROJECT yasuo and heartseeker ashe) or just not buy it at all. (The last part of my statement is simply my opinion, im sure others feel differently).

You know, normally when a "controversial" skin comes out, there's players on both sides of the fence. Some like it, others hate it. But I don't see a single post here that approves of the skin. It's completely one-sided. The skin needs work.

Although I love the diamond queen theme, I know it's pretty much not possible for Riot to adjust it :( it would have been a fantastic skin with diamond shape balls and cool recall and everything

Look at the new Singed Skin & Marauder Ashe.
They refuse to up pricing tier or recolor particles after the fact.
They don't give af about our wants when it comes to pre-shipment 19x/20.
Then you see they actually took feedback for Debonair Galio but hardly touched him after the fact & actually made him worse in a way (the purple looks awful)... critique was still overwhelmingly negative despite what KateyKhaos said & they refused to work on it further because of things like "pipeline" and "the artists are satisfied."
What else is stupid is how many skins Ezreal has now on so many other champions & how only one of his skins has altered particles (PFE) yet he has some of the greatest potential for particle touches with his beams.
Also, how they've refused to give Bandit Sivir her 5th prong on her blade back & won't give refunds for disliking it now. That's literally the only reason I owned the skin but they don't give af again.
Lastly, how they've essentially described recoloring particles as "intensive" because they're working with multiple layers of particles in Photoshop (really now, how many extra layers can there be, and it's not like it's very difficult to work those sliders til you find a shade you like). It's complete bs.

Syndreams3 votesHonestly, I think this skin has a lot of potential. But there are three things I think that must be changed: First, they removed her hair. I can imagine this skin with black hair or even keeping the white hair at least... but not removing it.
Second, I find the crown not very adapted, even for what it is supposed to represent. I think Syndra has to look gracious but also needs a side of "witch" with a crown that should represent power and magic.
And finally,** the orbs**. I know it is a 750 rp skin, but the purple orbs do not match with her outfit. Simply turn the purple to red or a kind of white. I am sure it would be much better.
Syndra is my favourite champion and I would be disapointed if they released a skin I find not finished. But good job anyway for everything Riot does.

There have been many threads that detail on how changing the color of a particle is less than a 10 minute job.
The fact that you can't do a simple particle recolor without adjusting the price of a skin is absolutely ridiculous, there is no way around it.

But it probably won't happen and here's why. Enemies see red particle's in general, such as Veigar stun, Syndra Q, etc to let them know they belong to your team. Now I want to imagine you playing Queen of Heart's Syndra with red particles (mainly the spheres) against a normal Syndra. Now it's difficult to tell who's balls are who's and clarity becomes an issue. If there are 3 balls out and they're all my Syndra's, I have no problems diving in. If they belong to the enemy Syndra, I might want to think again.
Of course a way around that issue would by replacing the spheres with diamonds. You're team could have white diamonds, while the enemy gets red ones. It could potentially look really good if they replaced the purple in Syndra's outfit with white/a lighter shade of purple. (Credit for this idea goes to someone else on the forum).
MrRazzleDazzle2 votesOnce upon a time, Riot released Haunting Nocturne for 520 RP. It was a very underwhelming skin since it only put him in a ghost hood. The community petitioned for change. Riot listened and added NEW PARTICLES within the week for his dusk trail.
That was 3 years ago. They didn't even bump up the price when they did it either.
