Since Ixtal has Dragons, Can We Get a Dragon Rider?

Since Riot basically reused the conceptualized Fiora ult on Mordekaiser for his rework, and Ixtal has dragons, do you think it would be fun to have an Ixtal Tamer character or Sorcerer that could ride or take control of Drakes? This would allow Riot to figure out how to make Mordekaiser's old ultimate work.

I especially like the idea of a tamer character. Seeing someone ride around on a Scuttle crab would be hilarious and different gameplay wise. Each monster could even have one ability and a basic attack. Their whole lore could be about how the elements of Ixtal aren't simply the bush, wall, and river, but the animals filled with magic as well.

What are your thoughts?

I'm fairly sure the post refers to pet champions such as Annie, Malzahar, Yorick etc. (Hell they even tried to change Annie from a pet champion into a full burst mage with her E update but they changed it because of backlash).

I understand. Maybe a Kayn ult that worked on creatures that allowed you to control them would avoid that stigma.

I love the idea, but dragon specifically maybe it would have too much of an overlap with shyvanna's rework? Still I think a champ that rides jungle camps and gets stat buffs from them would be fun

also the champ would probably have to be something small like a child or yordle so that it can fit on top of the jungle camp model without it looking too jarring

I thought of two idea for this:

Ixtal is the place where a great many magic rituals, such as Ascension, occurred. I didn't state it in the OP, but I thought of also having this character being a sorcerer who was just adept at magic like Qiyana. They could then have the ability to Kayn ult and control creatures by entering them. That way the models wouldn't conflict and perhaps the creatures could have a ring around them indicating on the player's screen that they were in that creature. I think this would be even more hilarious because the enemy jungler would start attacking the scuttle you are in only to be attacked by the scuttle crab.
The character would still be a sorcerer but instead cast a magic tether (skillshot). If the character hit the skillshot, they could recast to pull and slow the creature. With every pull, they would fill up a bar above or below the creature. When the bar is filled, the creature stops trying to attack the player or run away from it and follows the player. To balance this, you could make it to where attacks lowered the bar if they hit the player, and give the player a dash to help tame them. It could be a fun mechanic to work with, and you could even say that if you passed through the creature you gained double the amount you would normally gain from casting q for a certain amount of time.

when fiora was getting a rework there was a concept that her ult takes you to an area or creates an area around you and the target so its a true 1 v 1

instead of the fiora ult we have now it couldve been the reworked mordekaisers ultimate but that was scrapped and was given to mordekaiser.

I really like dragons, and I've really wanted cool dragon shit in league forever. I can't wait for shyv to catch a rework, and this concept sounds really cool, kinda reminds me of how dragon oracle udyr is but with actual dragons.

I think some kind of flighted rider is something that would be cool and hasn't been explored in League yet. A dragon from Ixtal would be awesome (and Ixtal definitely in more need of development), but there are Silverwing riders in Demacia that would be cool as well (DerMangoJoghurt mentioned it). Either one could be a skin for the other concept, too, and I love skins that are lore related or re-imagine a Champ from a different region.

I agree! You could even do a Shadow Isles character and make a very convoluted backstory of how a Demacian silverwing rider died in the explosion of the Blessed Isles and now they exist as ghost rider and ghost silverwing. But it would probably be easier to just do a Demacian silverwing rider.

Bents, a concept I made essentially around this specific idea. Because, well, riding creatures/pets sounds pretty fun. And why not add a lower-tier peasant champion?
