Burning Heart

Cost: 3500 gold

Build: Phage + Fiendish Codex + Ruby Crystal + 950 gold

+20 Attack Damage +40 Ability Power +350 HP +10% CDR

UNIQUE: Hitting 3 separate attacks or spells against champions within 2 seconds grants Battle Fever until out of combat. (30 second cooldown)

BATTLE FEVER: Gain 15% Size, 75 Attack Range, 25% Attack Speed, and your basic attacks against an enemy champion Flamelicks them, reducing their Magic Resist by 20% for 6 seconds. These effects are halved for ranged champions.

UNIQUE - RAGE: Basic attacks (on-hit) and magic damage dealt to nearby enemies grant +20 flat movement speed for 2 seconds. Assists on Flamelicked enemy champions or killing any unit grants +60 flat movement speed instead. (Range: 325)


Burning Heart is meant to be used by beefy AP champions. It offers comparable stats to Black Cleaver except CDR. Its ideal users would be Mordekaiser, Shyvana, Cho’Gath, Teemo, Jax, and probably a few more. On-hit champions like Kog’Maw, Varus, and Kayle could potentially pick it up, and of course it’s viable on Vladimir as his last CDR item but far from broken on him. Potentially problematic on Swain (killing a minion for Phage passive then running up for a pick).

Base Item - +20 Attack Damage = 700g +50 Ability Power = 1087.5g +400 HP = 1066.66g +10% CDR = 266.66g

These stats give a combined total of 3120.82 gold value before passive making it 94.57% gold efficient

Battle Fever Passive - Size is an interesting benefit, I'm not sure that it really has an applicable gold value. There is no set gold value for increasing attack range, but it is a rare trait and that would give it a significant value. +30% attack speed = 750g

Flamelicked - To calculate magic penetration in the same way as Void Staff, the Flamelicked Passive would only need to reduce the target's magic resistance by a value of 179.18g. According to the cost efficiency information for the Void Staff, 36.2 magic penetration has a value of 1127.5 gold value. At this rate, this item would only need to penetrate about 6.33 magic resistance in order to be gold efficient. There are only 2 champions that start with less than 30 magic resistance. This means this passive is guaranteed to be gold efficient on purchase.

Rage - This is already a well known passive, and I understand that you are including it because it is a part of the Phage component. +20 flat movement speed = 240g +60 flat movement speed = 720g

I think it is fair to say that this item is VERY OVERLOADED.

I like the concept, but you will need to cut it down.

I might put this idea together myself and try and make a post, but if you want to pick it up and modify it for yourself, I'm fine with it

If I wanted to make a "Beefy AP" item, I would look more at combining items like

Recurve Bow + Seeker's Armguard + Ruby Crystal

I would then make the passive work similar to Guinsoo's Rageblade, but convert the on-hit damage to magic, remove the on-hit bonus Attack Damage scaling and increase the on-hit Ability Power scaling, and remove the Attack damage per stack and replace it with a small amount of damage reduction per stack. At full stacks, it probably shouldn't go over 10% - 12%.

How about, 400 HP, and 75 AP, no attack speed, no penetration, but a DoT passive that does 20-150 magic damage over 5 seconds based on level that converts to true damage on targets below 40% hp but resets for each second in combat? and lower the cost to 3300, changing the phage to a Haunting Guise or something? not very thought out on my part but that item you made is ridiculous.
