Idea for Chat Restriction Penalties for Next Season

Pretty sure this is more of a concept, so hopefully this is the right boards.... anyways though....

So, people have said that the penalties for chat restriction causing you to even lose out on ranked rewards is a hefty punishment, especially if you were all the way at honor 5 before this happened. Even Riot is seeming to be leaning to this seems a little extreme

My idea is that for a chat restriction 10 game, instead of dropping to 0 honor and locking. How about drop up to 2 tiers and lock instead? This gives them the warning that bad things will happen if they continue. For 25 game chat restriction, they drop up to 3 tiers. After that it is a full on 0 honor lock no matter the honor level.

Such as from honor 5 you drop to honor 3 with 10 game chat restrict. Honor 5 to honor 2 with 25 game.

... it locks you at 1.. not 0. you're thinking of Suspension/Ban. IF you're chat restricted you deserve it at that point. quite literally only way to get a lower honor tier is by straight harassing another player with out of context stuff showing it's flaming. honor 5? if you get that you deserve honor 1 if you flame and get chat restricted.

Did you completely miss that it is a suggestion for a CHANGE to how it should be done?

Yes, it is deserved punishment. However even Riot and their support team says that it is not meant to feel like a major punishment, but more like a "you probably shouldnt be doing this". Feel free to contact Riot Support for confirmation on that.

Its close enough to locking at 0 then you work up to honor 1. Going and trying to critisize about such a minor thing is silly.

is this for your sake or for others? a punishment is a punishment, no leniency. it's like having the old system of perma-banned accounts where people a few weeks after being perma'd would write a support ticket saying they were reformed and they wouldn't flame anymore.. then get perma'd again. they did away with that courtesy. Now this may be a concept but accept my suggestion too. A player who makes a new account and has an honor 4 with 2 checkpoints (out of 3) account would lose their account's level of honor that has just become 1 because of flaming once. However the account with honor level 5 is completely fine and goes to what, level 3? man i'd love to tell my team to go royally do themselves like the tea leaves they are in the middle of a ranked game and just go down to honor 3. that's hilarious. oh but the cherry on top? i go to honor 2 (starting position) should i get toxic AGAIN after being warned once!

You completely missed what i suggested. The honor 5 is an example. A consistant for the hypothesis so to speak.

Honor 4 would go to honor 2. Honor 3 would go to honor 1. This is for 10 chat restrict.

For 25 it would be from 5 to 2, 4 to 1, 3 to 1, etc.

Before you start messaging on something, please make sure you are actually able to understand what it is that is being proposed, and to actually READ the post. It isnt that long.
